Write a ReviewCan’t thank the ladies in the lingerie department enough. Angela in particular was very kind, making you feel at ease and able to get the right garments fitted properly. A great team and would highly recommend to any ladies who may need to be fitted. Peace of mind you will be in good hands.
This is the place for everything you need: a few storeys with a special space for things like the Food Hall, ♀️swear, Kidswear, 🚻, cafe, ♂️swear & lingerie. A perfect surface. However, they were missing 💄(Autograph) when I 👀 in the Beauty section on the 1st floor. …
Good branch of M&S in the heart of the town. Yes, it’s expensive in the store but you get what you pay for. Food second to none, decent quality clothes. They could be a lot more fashionable admittedly, but this is M&S. It generally caters for older generations.
M & S Bury St Edmunds has been a part of my life since childhood and they came up trumps yet again. I had a £10 budget for a Secret Santa gift at work and after searching all over town got more than I needed at this store. I got a lovely …
Went to shop for food today. The shop is far too small, every time you move you bump into someone. We wanted to browse and see what they had but could move so gave up. That was a Thursday, I dread to think what the weekend is like. Awful experience!
Great branch – not the largest M & S but staff are helpful. It’s spread across 3 floors and the food selection is great.
Went in the cafe tables were dirty and not being cleaned. Counter on the right was filthy. Some random guy going round taking crockery off tables who didn’t even work there, plenty of staff about but not taking any notice of dirty tables, not what you expect from MandS
Good food produce with a wide range. Customer lift available. Men and women’s clothing. A cafe available on the 1st floor.
Visted BSE for the shopping & man it was buzzing. We consider this the best M & S we’ve been to for years.
Traditional set up over 3 floors & well stocked, in fact far better than our local branch. Well done to the efficent staff for running such a good branch. We will return 🙂
Always good but food hall in Bury St Edmunds could be bigger.
Always busy and a bit cramped but then that’s a good sign!
Generally speaking, everything is best quality.. as I get older I don’t find the fashion range is really for me.
Great products, exceptional service and great range of food, wine etc
Great store, lovely fresh produce and well stocked fridges and shelves
Cafe visit today 20th January 2023. No hot food, no saucers for cups, no plate for sandwich.
Refunds & exchanges on 1st floor is just to join the checkout queue. Its 25 people deep and nobody seems to be supporting the till staff to take the weight off. Racking up parking charges….
The staff in our Marks & Spencer are so friendly, and always go above and beyond to help with my query. Feels like my local shop, staff always say “good morning”, and smile which makes such a difference – why I always come back. …
Whilst i like the food hall and generally the service at this store, it’s remarkable how one person can let the whole experience down. Have just had an appalling experience in the self-service area, with the most insulting, patronising and rude staff member serving there. I will avoid the whole store from now on.
Far to busy for the amount of staff working in the cafe. No tables available unless you wanted to clear your own and currently 10 tables full of dirty cups and plates this is at 2pm. I’m not sure why the lady delivering to the tables …
Absolutely disgusted with the customer service at Bury St.Edmunds branch.
Worse part is I have previously worked for M&S in central London and I know this level of customer services is an absolute NoNo ! Especially under the current …
This is a great little store and the cafe used to be a delight, service friendly and helpful.
However, it now serves more unhealthy food and a limited selection for those who …
Lovely little coffee shop here. Well run by polite & friendly staff. I heartily recommend
Review is for the cafe: Tables uncleared despite the place being half empty. Coffee cups were not clean so needed to be sent back. I would really have expected better. Not specifically the fault of the cafe staff by the toilets were filthy.
Visited today with my Mum…we usually enjoy a Scone, clotted cream and jam, however today’s experience left us not wanting to return.
Great staff, welcoming and friendly and very happy to help. Staff are willing to go the extra mile. Store itself isnt that large and could do with some modernization. Overall very pleased with the selection and.shopping experience.
Usual M&S experience really, but could do with a bit of a better layout, the checkouts for food are right at the back of the shop and think that the rest of it could certainly be easier to navigate through, though it has been like this for …
This is where the blue-rinse brigade reign bless-em. Just don’t get in their way!!
The “Food Hall” is another matter though with it’s trendy black floor and …
Really short staffed! Food great and really helpful staff, just not enough of them!!
For a medium sized M&S, they always have a nice collection and I find them great for work clothes and the food hall. We had a particularly helpful girl serve us who helped my Mum redeem her birthday discount!
You always get what you expect from M&S, well made clothing at moderate to high pricing.
Good location in Bury, just off the market area. …
An interesting shop on 3 floors. Well laid out with a good selection of goods. The sale area on the ground floor was very busy and there were plenty of bargains to be had. As a whole the store was busy but easy to get round. Always have a look in the store when we visit the town.
A bit like a free for all now compared to a few weeks ago when you had to queue for a little bit before getting in.
Now once you get in, the customers couldn’t care less about reaching all over …
Visited here as I had to return a gift over Christmas period. The store seemed quite good across three floors the first being only food stuff as far as I could see. Was a bit annoyed when trying to get the refund as could only get it done …
Its nice to wonder around this shop, its set over three levels , With food and clothes to the ground flour, It has lifts steeps and an esculator (1 Way Up) but getting a lift is no problem, It also has a wc which is always handy especially …
Very good service from friendly assistants . very clean and well equipped. Excellent food and tea.
Good place to have a tea or coffee but all they do to eat is toasted sandwichs or panines.
This was in christmas week so it was very busy foos as always was lush waiting staff were really nice and friendly but the woman who took my order just needed to smile a bit I am profoundly deaf had yo ask her to repeat herself as don’t think this made her happy at all
Went to the cafe. Didn’t have carrot cake but noticed that a slice had over 700 calories! That’s not good for anybody! M&S need to address their menu. …
As always good pruducts and helpful staff. For me the store had too many people in the food hall. A que to get into foodhall. No way to get out on the queue. I felt trapped. Needs better organiseation in my opinion
Staff very pleasant but stock of mens’ shirts very poor. Shirt required was available in sizes large and xxl only. No medium size available on-line either. What happened to stock control? Very nice coffee and sandwiches. Staff in the cafe were very helpful, too, despite being extraordinarily busy.
Service good but coffee is tastless. A bit like hot milk and one was just right temperature while other too hot to drink
The staff were so helpful I ordered a pair of slacks which I will pick up Monday.
It was well worth the visit to the town. I am sitting in the beautiful gardens. I hope I will not be sick on the coach home , twice in one day is enough
Visited the cafe with my wife for lunch. We both had the seafood selection sandwiches and a cappuccino. The sandwiches were very poor. One was supposed to be tuna but the only way either of us could tell was to read the package label and …
Cramped space in the food aisles! No escalators on way down but has a lift. Not impressed with the layout of the shop. I do like MnS but this shop needs someone with a clear view of how to make big improvement’s!
Really friendly staff and a lovely place to eat
Taken 2.star off.as the isles don’t have much room
Good food and service
. However walking down two Isles to get into the food hall is not acceptable …
Always friendly and helpful from a staff perspective! But limited toilet facilities often mean a long and often crowded queue/waiting time for wheelchair users and able bodied customers alike.
Good value for money. This shop is NOT wheelchair friendly, cramped rails and far to close together. Goodness knows what it will be like over the Christmas period. In the main I use the internet but this is so slow.
This is a good, if slightly small, M&S. Food dept is hugely popular & rather difficult to navigate with safe distancing. Staff are always very helpful.
The store is good, the cafe is fine but could do with more family tables…what really let’s the place down is the toilets…burys public toilets are actually better, m&s toilets are small and not the cleanest.
Looking for a treat this is your food shop 😋 …
After a hard day’s work of shopping it’s nice to come here and relax with a drink and cake. The only downside, is that the cafe area is quite small which often means it’s overcrowded and will find myself looking elsewhere for a sit down
Clothes are beautiful, and all the staff I have spoken to are charming, and very helpful. In the restaurant the food is very well presented and the staff who work in that department are always so polite and very helpful.
Great place to visit and have some food and a drink and chat
Too small for the number of customers queuing but efficiently run and the drinks and cakes are good.
Very nice soup and tea and very friendly helpful staff
I love my M & S. They have lovely people in their. Also have really good quality of food, also beautiful clothes as well. Louise x
Great store with lovely staff. Brilliant fruit and vegetables. Food shelves can be a little empty at times though.
Although I don’t shop here often as I feel they are a bit pricey for me, but I would say that I have found a good bargain often and the clothes are of a good quality. You get what you pay for, just wish I could afford to visit more often.
Very welcoming staff were polite and friendly, purchased a pair of mens trousers which I very pleased with will certainly shop there next time we go, we also used the fresh food and grocery which we like the bread and salad products we find they seem to stay fresher longer.
Great staff ok food but very cramped
Very poor stock levels and equally poor choice of clothing. This store is EXACTLY what’s wrong with the current business model. Bury St Edmunds could easily accommodate a separate M and S food store giving more floorspace for clothing.
Very busy but staff superb – cheerfull and helpful.
Small version of national chain, hence fewer clothing offerings but quite adequate for standard M&S products. Also a food outlet and has a restaurant that we did not visit.
Nice and clean good spiced buns and coffee.
Went in to get quick bite to eat as usually have good selection of food on the go …nothing there absolutely pants and talk about pay desks hardly any open .
Is this the next chain to go under ?
No point in having 2 staff on the door to monitor exit and entry if once inside no-one observes social distancing. Also who put the spirits on a shelf in the narrow corridor where you have to exit the self service desks. Again no social …
I was very disappointed. Still people were too close. I went to buy bra’s but as they were in the queue on way to the food I couldn’t stop n hold up other people so had to leave it. The food hall was quite congested in places. Very disappointed
Busy cafe good choice of foods only down side that day no proper cups dish washer broke
Nice and clean. Staff friendly. Toastie was tasty
Usually quite busy, sometimes hard to get a seat, average choice, good service & good coffee
Wonderful place to recharge your body and have a great coffee and 🍰. …
They have redesign the tills at the self service, and there is 8 or 10 tills, which only two of them are cash or cards. As it was market day today there was a few people queueing to pay cash. There was a person there to talk to, but he was brain wash
Food is good as always but it is not big enough
Quick and courteous help with returning an item ordered bduring lockdown.
Tills very busy but got swift attention by moving to ground floor.
Coffee just as I like it. Staff are always friendly and polite. Just wish they did more pot snacks, or salad pots like they sell in the foodhall, as I dont always want to eat sandwiches!!
One of the smaller M&S stores, so not the full range that you might expect to see. However it is well laid out & is clean & tidy. Staff very helpful
Staff very helpful especially the man on the bread section if we can’t find anything my mum always says let’s find the man from bread he will help us other staff will do the same it’s nice to see happy helpful staff.
Hidden gem. From the outside looks like a clothing store but in the back is a grocery store. Plenty of choices. Ps…gets really crowded on Saturday and difficult to walk around store. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Ill be spending lots of £ at this store. Cheers
My family’s most favourite spot. Would highly recommend toasties.
Clear safety measures in place and one way systems, which most keep to. Check outs restricted so you might have to queue for a while but not too bad.
Shopped m&s for 60 years ! Still excellent service always served with a smile whatever area you are in. Bury St Edmunds store is Tops…..
