I have just spent the last week in Royal Blackburn Hospital. Ward B8. I would like to say I have had wonderful care. The staff (even though they are rushed off their feet) are amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them and they genuinely care for their patients. They all deserve medals (and a huge payrise)
I went into emergency yesterday and waited 6 hours before I was called. A doctor called Suleiman Dawood spoke to me with no politeness and no kindness. He didn’t even check me properly. He was very rude. If he can learn how to talk to a …
The whole system is a shambles. 10 people waiting over 10 hours in urgent care. Too many chief’s not enough Indians. They all seem to walking around doing sweet f all . The cleaning team arrived what a joke chairs covered in blood they never cleaned them
My dad was rushed into hospital A&E with breathing difficulties and pneumonia and from the start in A&E to being on wards in C3 OPU I cannot fault any of his care. He has been cared for really well from the paramedics, Drs, nurses, carers, …

Long live the NHS. Even though there are huge waiting times for various services within the NHS for the lack of government foresight and financial commitment throughout. It’s still the best and most enviable health service in the world …
The nurses and all the staff in the day care unit work very hard and deserve to be paid twice as much as they get it’s not just a job it’s a vocation they really looked after me.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.x
My husband was taken into hospital at 7.30 this morning. His phone is dead so tried repeatedly to get through to someone who could tell me if he is stil in AnE on a ward, waiting to go home etc. I can’t get through. I know the staff are all …

the staff do try there upmost best and do care, but they are understaffed and over worked so 5* to the staff! the NHS itself is under funded by the government so im sorry but 0* for this
My mum is on Ward C5 at the moment and I have phoned daily as I live 400 miles away in Scotland. Whenever I phone the staff are so friendly, and ‘nothing is too much trouble’, I have even been able to have a conversation with her, which was …
My wife has just been on hold waiting for someone to answer the phone to alter her MRI scan appointment for 1 hour and 18 minutes. There is no option to contact by email and as my wife is a school teacher she has limited time to phone the hospital. Perhaps this is why there are so many missed appointments. Pathetic
I dont want to give it 1 star rating. The most terrible hospital with very poor service. Lazy staff. The staff are on strike for a pay rise for what exactly??? All they do is sit around acting like they doing their job but in reality they …
The 1 x star isn’t for the medical staff, it’s for the amount of appointments ELTH have messed up by cancelling and not making amendments to make future appointments ( i.e me having to do admin work myself) to get the appointments back on …
The most dysfunctional department known. Urgent care and A&E as one department?? No priority in care. No beds available. Daughter spent 12 hours at Burnley Urgent care to wait for a bed and referral to royal Blackburn. Got here next day …
My mum had a bad stroke and was on ward B2. She was in for 9 days and the care, support and treatment she received from the nurses was exemplary. She was assigned a bed in very quick time from admission. I couldn’t praise you all enough, but thankyou very much, you are a credit to your profession
Very poor service and even worse staff. Bad attitudes from every directions. Patients left in corridors for hours and hours without being checked on. I’ve seen better care and service in third world counties. Total failure NHS!
Unfortunately for me have had to visit more than I want every time I have been met with some great staff who go out of there way to help you feel comfortable. Keep it up and thanks
I have just had a stay at Blackburn Royal, staying in Majors, Acute Medical Unit B and B6.

The A+E department are a waste of time, waited 7hrs at Burnley General Hospital then got referred to Blackburn A+E department, still waiting after 6hrs just for a scan. This place is horrendous …
Bring enough food for 2 days.
Insanely over capacity. No idea how they aren’t declaring a critical incident. Lovely nurses but can only triage you whilst waiting 12 hrs for a doctor, …
The most disgusting staff, dr’s & nurses going accept the odd one. Threatening patients with kicking them out then saying it’s ‘self discharge’ when you don’t agree with them as they fail to read history/notes. Nurses slagging off patients …
Terrible hospital that has no sense of care or hygiene. Why are nurses at the AMU ward B allowed to sit on the receptionist desks during meeting as shown in the photo? Then subsequently look very surprised and embarrassed when visitors walk in? Like the one on the right clearly is.
Recently had to go into hospital twice. One time I was ‘blue lighted’ there. All I can say is all the staff at Blackburn Royal are kind, helpful and caring. Yes, there are bed shortages but still the staff are with you working hard. I have …
Had to use A and E recently. Daughter was kept in after she collapsed. Her BP was very low and the initial nurse was lively and concerned. From then it went downhill. Daughter was placed onto a trolley and left in a corridor all night and …

Just been to eye clinic staff very good and all my questions were answered and explained in and out in 30 minutes. Thanks RBH.
Very very bad patient waiting room facilities. No organised furniture in the waiting room. Terrible hygiene. Waiting time is too long with patients with emergency care.
Why is this hospital ringing me. I don’t even live near the hospital so need for the phone call.
Shocking service. Blue lighted in with a possible heart attack and was left hunched in pain clutching my chest alone on a corridor in a wheelchair for 8 hours before anyone even spoke to me. I had bloods taken, no EKG, no tests. Just one …
Visited for a COVID-19 test, organised brilliantly. Made simple on how to enter, test and exit. Spoke to me with the window closed via a mobile phone number that I had to call. They even offered help on what to do once the test was done.

Racist Hospital
After blacking out and collapsing and going to urgent care to be told there not an out of hours GP nurse and doctor will be reported
I didn’t want to give the place any stars for it’s a diabolical disgrace. People waiting 24 hrs in a chair no sleep and dog beat.
I went there ,on q 999 term and from 13.00hrs to 21.00hr never seen q doctor. …
Some of the staff in Standard Ambulatory Care were unecessarily rude and aggressive. Enquired about waiting times because of childcare and was given an extremely curt reply by the receptionist. One of the nurses on the ward was also quite …
I’d rather not have an accident, but if you do, pick a different a&e!! Grotty outside & in, no air – stinks of cigarettes bc everyone smokes right outside the front door, saturated in smell. Chaos, waiting times can often be all day or …

A place where people are treated like worse than animals. 20 hours of wait for stroke patient before they can see a doctor. This is like punishment for getting ill.
Expert treatment for the removal of several stage 4 liver tumours that had been misdiagnosed elsewhere. All staff professional,
respectful and cheerily dedicated
Dreadful service on monday 2nd May in a&e. I had waited from 11.30 am for 111 to send me to out of hours gp. The gp finally rang back at 20.50 and said I needed to go to a&e and that she would book an appointment for 22.45 for me to see …

I visited the eye clinic on Monday, June 13th for the first time and was very impressed by the treatment I received and by the efficiency and attitude of all the staff. I expected a long wait as the waiting room was full but was pleasantly surprised.

The experience my husband had for his robotics surgery was excellent and second to none. All the staff involved from pre-op, admissions, time in surgery and on the ward couldn’t have been more efficient and kind. Can’t thank them enough. The NHS at it’s very best!
The care at The Royal Blackburn Hospital was outstanding. All the staff were very thorough, caring, attentive and relatable and after a diagnosis was made, the treatment was swift. …
Doctor didn’t tell me what was wrong, only that I had nothing broken.
He also didn’t give me any self-care recommendations. I feel like he overlooked the pain I was in.
Rheumatology department, physio and Msk team keep rejecting referrals and passing them back to the GP. I was referred twice. My GP says that this is standard and that the specialist care I need just isn’t available in Blackburn. I have …
