Made the big mistake of attempting to speak to someone in the housing department.Apparently we are not allowed in the shiny new offices they have built for themselves,we can only phone.Tried phoning for 4 days,left messages,no reply.Sunderland council,you are a disgrace!If I could have given zero stars,I would have !

Speak down to you when you ring as though they’re better than you, with an exception of one or two staff members who speak to you like you have a purpose. Rubbish left lying all over Sunderland, local parks an absolute state, overgrown grass, sort it out, quick to take people’s money but leave the place a tip.

I rang and asked for a new electric bed and mattress for my son. Within a day they were delivered and up and running. The lady I spoke to was exceptionally helpful, credit where it’s due, this is an superb service. Well done Sunderland city council.
