This place is fine until something goes wrong with your product. Poor customer resolution for a coat with poor stitching quality. Will be shopping elsewhere in the future. Wouldn’t take the risk

Two of us in looking for footwear, wanted to try multiple different styles in different sizes, Ryan was super patient and helpful in getting all the different options while my wife and I both dithered. Needless to say it wasn’t just us that he was helping but several other customers all at the same time.

Only get to Northampton once a year but always pop in here to see what they have. Great choice and when I visited before Christmas they had a lot of decent items in a Sale which was a nice surprise.

Just been to the Northampton store to purchase a sleeping bag and was dealt with by Aimee who was so helpful and knowledgeable about them I purchased it. Super service from a true professional very happy

They might be cheap – but the after-sales service is appalling. Unhelpful replies from uncaring people. The “computer says no” sketched in Little Britain were obviously based on the Ultimate Outdoors customer service team.

A nice clean and tidy store with friendly staff. They had what we needed (and even price matched the fabsil that I was going to buy elsewhere). Overall a great store with nice staff on a good retail park.

We went there for our first time camping shopping and Lewis vary patiently took us through all camping necessities!
We were further delighted to receive a 15% storewide off too!

Went in for some jumpers for my wife for Christmas. The staff were extremely helpful and picked up a couple of bargains. Thanks to the staff, my wife was very pleased with her presents.

Very quiet in here, good range of outdoor clothing which is what I went up to look at.Also a fair range of footwear.

Good customer service and a good range of kit. It’s probably the only place to buy good quality outdoor gear in Northampton and is always worth a look before heading elsewhere. They usually have a good selection of offers on the sales rack by the door.

Have always found them helpful and friendly, with a ‘how did we do’ system in place at the point of purchase (you rate the service using the card reader before the actual purchase).

Placed my first order which was cancelled due to no stock.1 Week later it is back on the website as available so i reorder it….and they cancel it again. I put in a complaint and they apologise saying they have now taken it off the website …

January sales, good selection and most items 50% off. Staff polite and welcoming. Just be prepared to hunt for that bargain. Good selection of rucksacks and camp gear but can be a little pricey.

The staff were very friendly and helpful in both finding what I wanted and demonstrating its use. There were maks and antibacterial spray available for customers to use and the store was not over populated.

Great stock of out door wear. Quite pricey but if you need quality then you have to pay the prices. Check out there sales when on can get a good discount.

Millets and Blacks combined. Friendly staff who always greet you as you walk in, plenty of items on offer with some good deals every now and then. But usually the items are really expensive if there are no discounts.

Awful customer service. Ordered a coat in October, still not received by December. Then told there was an online fault and stock not available, so told money would be refunded within 5 days. 2 weeks later still no refund.

Got what I wanted just asked a member of staff a he found it for me a all so asked about a separate thing and was surprised on 2 for a £10 pound on gas cylinder packets

I was very pleased with the staff knowledge of the running shoes and the options available. Possibly a little more than other online stores but here you can try on a variety of shoes and get advice from the staff.

After 2 weeks of waiting for my order, I sent them an email and they said they had cancelled my order but I hadn’t had a refund.

Over priced townie rubbish all noisy man made material, won’t be going back

I wanted ski equipment. I tried to do g before I went but you can’t ring the store directly. The customer service is closed on Sunday. What was in store did not look very diverse either.

Now I remember why I don’t shop in blacks and usually use somewhere like Cotswold Outdoors. Totally clueless staff. Won’t answer phone and then no idea if they have way of checking stock.!

Terrible as employers, would not recommend working here. They have no understanding or respect for mental health, and ignore the needs of employees rather than helping and guiding.

If the outdoors is for you then, this would be ok. Clothes are a bit on the expensive side but there are other things there too (tents, bags etc..)
