My husband is travelling to Portsmouth for radiotherapy daily. In order to claim support for hovertravel do I need an HC5 form [we are on pension credit and help with rent and council tax] or do I use the NHS for given to us by the Urology dept.
Hi Wendy, if you are on the guaranteed element of the pension credit you can take your benefit paper work with you and claim from the cashiers office at Portsmouth Hospital or make a postal claim using a HC5 form. If you are on the basic pension credit, you can get help with the ferry cost through the Cross Solent Travel scheme which we have access to the forms if needed. Hope that helps.

Apparently the dermatology dept. is not taking referrals for the removal of moles and no surgery on the Island has commissioned facilities to remove and biopsy skin moles. Why is this?

How long does it take for a Drs referral to be accepted?
Why does it take 4 weeks to send the result of an X-ray to the GP who has requested it? Radiology department are very quick and pleasant when the X-ray is taken (in my case on 1 August) but the result is still not at my GPs and I am in pain.
Doesn't ANYONE on this whole island, have a single concern about this hospital? I've used it rarely and I have serious concerns about the Xray, MRI and CT scans are all being read by someone who isn't even a qualified doctor! Lordy...!!
