Total irresponsibility!
I was astonished at Toolstation’s behaviour by totally unqualified staff when I bought an electric shower from them. I have been fitting these for over 50 years. I have found that they fur up after five years which is fine by me. I just buy another one and replace it. But this time the replacement suddenly stopped working after 2.5 weeks. I have a pressure regulating valve and meter on the input side. The shower input requirement is between one and five bar. I had the valve set at two bar.
I took the replacement electric shower back for an exchange shower.
Toolstation swopped the shower without complaint.
But the second shower would not stabilise temperature. It could be set to cold OK. But on all other settings it simply boiled the water! So this was clearly a completely different fault! I was told by the assistant that they would get me another replacement the next day and let me know when it came in. They did not let me know when it arrived.
However I had to go to the same shop for something else and when I enquired, I was told that my replacement shower had arrived.
So I went home, collected the faulty shower and brought it back to the shop.
On arrival the shop assistant called another assistant who told me that they should never have exchanged the first faulty shower because they have no means of returning it to the supplier!
The assistant called their “area manager” who apparently told the assistant to tell me that they would exchange the electric shower but to not return to the shop if it did not work!
She even suggested that I contact the manufacturer myself. I pointed out that I had bought the shower from Toolstation and not the manufacturer. She admitted that she understood that was all that really mattered.
Conclusion: DO NOT BUY AN ELECTRIC SHOWER FROM TOOLSTATION AS THEY WILL NOT HONOUR THEIR LEGAL OBLIGATION TO SELL ONE THAT IS FIT FOR PURPOSE!
The third shower worked by the way but there is obviously a quality control issue that Toolstation simply do not want to take responsibility for. AVOID!
Fantastic to have a Toolstation closer to home. Really friendly manager. Store very clean.
Kevin was really friendly and helpful, in sorting what I needed.
I have used Toolststion Balham various times over the past two years. The service is always slow. I have used the click and collect and usually the items are not ready for 30 minutes to an hour
Great staff and great store. Stock levels managed well I’ve noticed and its always quick and convenient.
Kevin thanks for all your knowledge on the staplers hahaha
Staff are always so friendly and helpful, this week Courtney was really helpful when I had an issue with the click and collect order I had placed and resolved super fast for me A*
