Lovely hospital and staff. Been in and out recently but advised its a better hospital than those further a field. The shop is quite limited for fresh fruit, dairy etc but do sell cards, magazines, biscuits and nibbles. The atrium is not overly good. Highly priced, stall cakes and limited vegetarian foods.

Parking is a nightmare-especially for the disabled. There just isn’t enough. Other than that the hospital is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful and there wasn’t a long wait for anything

The staff there are amazing, I am genuinely shocked these doctors and nurses some barely in there 20s yet how patient, inciteful and mentally taxing their jobs are and their ability to show kindness under such extreme circumstances for such long periods of time and am very thankful for them.
Recent visit to A and E overnight, the staff do an amazing job under so much pressure but carry on regardless where would we be without these devoted caring nhs doctors nurses and all staff. Government need to recognise what they all do for us!

Excellent care and support after my husband fractured his ankle, kind staff and all dealt with in good time A&E…They are all amazing!
There was an internal diversion because of building work. Unfortunately inadequate signage meant I got lost and was made late for my appointment. Very helpful staff though got me to audiology eventually although I needed help to find the way out and I was not alone
The urology team, admission department and pretty much everyone I came in contact with, were amazing. Had laser surgery for some kidney stones and during my stay I felt very well looked after which made the whole experience much better. Thank you for this!
The young night staff on A&E were excellent but once you’re discharged the door slams shut. Have tried again and again to get information about a promised (and necessary) follow up appointment with cardiology but you get shunted around …

The staff here are brilliant!!! After fracturing my wrist in a motorcycle accident they checked all possible injuries in such professional and friendly manner. They had me xrayed and my arm in a cast within a couple hours. Massive appreciation too all of the staff that work in A&E.
Had to wait 20 mins before I was called in but it was very busy. Good attention to detail and very pleased with service I received.
I would like to give special thanks to Leanna and Clementine in the scan department for their friendliness, care and professional approach during an appointment I had last month. These lovely ladies both went out of their way to put me at …
Terrible. Comparing this to my experience at my other hospital before I moved, I could not believe the incompetence and actual negligence. Most of the nurses were lovely bar some, and the actual doctor I saw was nice but dismissive. Told me …

Well laid out parking was very easy and plenty of disable parking
The staff in A&E were amazing. I was then taken to Pearce ward on Orthopaedics whilst waiting for an MRI. My stay on this ward was amazing. The staff from doctors, nurses, cleaners and porters went above and beyond. I am really …
Welcoming people and easy access to anything. No long waits.
Once my mum was through A&E which flatly refused my staying beside her ( even though doubly vaccinated for covid)things improved greatly. The staff have been polite & professional. drs bedside manner impecable and consultative with patient. Well done everyone I sense an improvement in staffing levels & care. Thankyou
I really cannot believe this awful place, they take a fairly healthy 62 year old male and turn him into a pain racked wreck in three weeks. Brought in by ambulance, Gaul bladder problems, leave me festering for 9 days before operation to …
Awful unempathic team, one woman hung up on me when I was asking a question about a friend in hospital. I wish I knew her name, and also the girl who I spoke to after who was just rude and completely unempathic to the situation. I’m …
I have been experiencing care for torn Achilles in B1. I have to applaud the staff, nurses, doctors and technicians in the Trauma unit, the fracture clinic, X-ray dept and plaster cast team. All have been friendly, helpful and skillful. …
I went in for a minor(ish) op for a couple of days. Every single member of staff I came into contact with was superb. They might have been short staffed and rushed off their feet, but I truly felt that I mattered to them. Thank you, each and every one of you!!

The staff at the MRI department was excellent! I was a bit anxious about going in the MRI machine but the nurses were extremely kind and comforting. I had other scans at private clinics and the treatment at the RUH was at the same standard
Waited from 7pm – 10.30pm on a Tuesday to get an xray of my hand. Was told it (quite patronisingly) it was not broken, it was totally fine, despite shooting pain and swelling, and left with no treatment. A WEEK later I receive a call from a …

Friendly, caring staff. If using your disabled parking badge at the time if your first appointment you need to register your car registration at the main entrance, so advice you make a note before leaving the parking area.
Went here to visit someone in hospital, very impressed with the doors that automatically sterilise your hands when opening the doors into the ward. The visiting is booked in advance which although takes organising is worth it as it means that there’s not too many people on the ward at any one time.
My elderly mother was admitted to the Respiratory ward. We were
impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. My mother was full of praise for the food and how helpful the staff were. What an improvement on the Swindon hospital previously admitted to. I cannot speak highly enough of the service my mother received.
We have had to take our little one here a few times to see an orthopaedic specialist and once to the A&E. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice and well run the place seems. Great staff, very kind and helpful. We are often seen straight away and didn’t have to wait around too long. We always feel as if we are in good hands at RUH.
Utterly disappointed with how things were dealt with after receiving an X-ray. I seen the nurse and the nurse questioned me why hadn’t I gone to my local hospital and the reason I hadn’t gone to my local hospital due to working away and she …
The service is poor in general as we all know it, health service isn’t world class as expected from a hospital point of view. Expectations is higher specially from one of the richest county in the world should have decent health …

Staff are amazing, care is second to none.
Many thanks to all the staff on the Colorectal Department! My appointment today was on time and I cannot fault the level of care shown by the nursing staff & the consultants, who carefully explained every step of the procedure.
Once again an exemplary service from exceptionally thorough and caring staff for our 17 year old son with a fractured ankle. There may have been a wait but this is the same worldwide, private or state when there are lots of sick adults and children. Well done and save our NHS as it is a marvellous institution. Thank you
As a current patient on Pulteney ward I can only say from my current experience that the care and attention on this Surgical/Medical ward has been excellent.
As an NHS employee myself and a trained nurse,I know from experience the …
I recently stayed in the RUH for some time due to a serious infection and chronic vomiting. For me, my stay was very mixed. Most of the nurses, doctors, staff etc were absolute angels but there were some people in particular who seemed to …
Truly awful A&E experience. 8 hours and counting and we’ve yet to be officially seen by anyone remotely helpful. Extremely poor staffing – borderline dangerous. I hope someone official reads this and realises the danger you are placing patients and staff under.
Never had a problem with appointments here.
They saved my dads life in 2000.
The nurses do an exception job. Friendly, polite and helpful. …
We received a parking fine whilst in A&E for parking in the car park next to A&E. Very poor and unclear/complicated signage. Signs telling you where the payment terminals are have been kept separated from the signs telling you how to pay …

Recently my husband was admitted to AAU. He was treated with respect and kindness by all the staff but the 5* rating goes to Rory a brilliant doctor. He took time to listen and was extremely professional. Take every opportunity in the future Rory you are an excellent doctor.
The staff in the intensive care unit who looked after my dad were outstanding. They were on hand at all times during the 6 days he was there, they were compassionate and professional, they made a very difficult week much easier. A fantastic team. A fantastic facility.

No complaints with the treatment my husband received last Saturday after being taken in by ambulance – lovely nurses, great doctors. However, when I came to leave to wend my weary way home at around 11 p.m. the parking machine at the …
