Hello Susanne. Thanks for your question. If you're looking to rent a home as a general needs social resident, you'll need to apply with your local authority, to be put on there housing register. For example, if you live in Bedford Borough, you would apply here: https://www.bedford.gov.uk/housing/housing-advice-options/applying-for-social-housing/ After that, you'll be assessed and referred to a housing provider like ourselves. Hello Barbara, thanks for your question. If you've been selected for sheltered accommodation, you should be able to find and apply for one of our retirement living properties. Please do have a look at what we have to offer in those regards. They're thriving communities full of independent homes for residents aged 55+. https://www.bpha.org.uk/retirement-living/ However, if you feel that you don't fit into that category and would prefer a more conventional social property, you'd have to contact your local housing register provider again, who'd consider the application and check you eligibility. The organisation holding your private details are not allowed to share that info in the public domain. They have a responsibility to protect that data from hacking and accidental leaking by members of their staff. I believe that only Customs and Excise and the police can ask and receive your details.

There are many sites online but if you already have someone to swap with if they are also with bpha it should be straightforward. If with another landlord both landlords will agree to the swap once they have checked you both out. Financial checks etc, to ensure you are a good tenant, rent paid on time etc.
