Write a ReviewMy 96yr old mum attended A and E today following a fall at home. It was wonderful to witness such a respectful service where all the staff especially the doctor took the time and effort to effectively communicate with her both to inform his …
Had to visit A&E twice recently, once with my son and a few days ago for myself. On both occasions I expected to be waiting hours, but the longest wait was just 20 minutes. I was seen by an A&E Nurse Practitioner and referred to a ward in …
Grandad taken to A&E with a suspected heart attack. He was there for around 13 hours and never once saw a doctor. The nurses were good and obviously trying their best, but we were told it would be another 5 hours before the doctor would see …

My girlfriend gave birth to our first child on Tuesday (c-section) and the staff were excellent also the surgeon Roberto was amazing and helped massively to calm the nerves and worries that we both had. In the end everything was fine. Absolute god send!
Wonderful A&E and nightingale ward experience for my son. Dedicated, warm, empathetic and efficient. Wonderful. Bless you all. Power to the NHS…backbone of the UK.

Had a kidney stone. Called 111 they wanted to send me to northern general. This hospital os easiest to get to. Got there straight to reception. Then through to triage then to bays. To me people use this as an a and e not like others that use other hospitals like gp services.
Absolutely rubbsih ENT dept, they dont follow up, dont keep you informed of any progress and send out appointments with reason. Try and get to know anything and no one answers the phone including secretary’s. I dare you to ring them and you …
Dealt with Dr Shil Patel in The Den. From start to finish he was excellent, a credit to the NHS, both friendly and professional. We’d had a rough 24 hours and it was great to talk to somebody like him. …

A massive thank you to Christie at the Audiology Department at Calow. Really efficient, very clear in explaining test results and how to use hearing aids. In and out in 45 minutes with hearing aids and a pack of really useful information. Amazing – than you 🙂

Careless unprofessional nurses 1 nurse Banged into my dislocated And broken ankle By that put my operation back cos of swelling Bein in pain the whole week Buzzing for pain relief. Quality of care gone down hill
Parking is always a major job so leave plenty of time for that and time to get to the department you are attending. Always helpful on main desk
A&E department and Nightingale Ward are second to none. Wonderful staff, working horrendously long hours, go above and beyond to provide a calm, peaceful atmosphere
I’ve had a long up and down relationship with the Royal since April 1st 2000. I have to say, despite this and the many many surgeries I’ve had there, I still feel that I can say ALL the staff are absolutely fantastic. Professional, caring, …
Awful experience thanks to Ms A Miller from the Speech department. Tried to ruin my day and others, by being extremely rude & difficult! The caretaker was more professional and more considerate than Ms Miller! I have waited months for my …
I don’t use a&e very often. The last time I went was 2018. I understand the concept of accident and emergency only. I was made to feel very upset when getting checked in. After being referred by my GP the same day to go up. I was in a lot …
The condescending and clock-watching attitude of some of the Doctors and staff is astonishing, it’s like stepping back in time 40 years. Go to any hospital in Sheffield instead if you can
I have had excellent care whilst going to the hospital. From the ambulance staff, A&E staff to the staff on the wards. A special thank you to Mari and Niska who wizid me to Ridgeway ward from EMD. All the staff were polite, professional and most of all filled with human kindness.

Scarsdale ward- They don’t listen to your birth plan and they don’t let you try for a VBAC without continuous monitoring and they starve you during labour which goes against NICE guidelines.
Had a small operation the staff are some on the best people you would ever wish to meet they are so friendly and caring..and yes they should be paid more
Yesterday I had to go to Chesterfield Hospital as I had food poisoning and had become dehydrated. My heart rate had gone up to around 140. I was placed in Resuscitation Unit in Emergency Department. Katie and Dileep looked after me and monitored me all afternoon. Treatment from the two of them was great. Thank you
Despite how good the majority of the hospital is, the Pharmacy is rude, inconsiderate and outright lies. …
I applied for a admin position at a gp surgery in Heanor. The salary was quite high. NUH voted to go on strike at QMC some of that salary could have been put to nurses pay
Great experience starting from the huge parking and fancy reception with helpful staff
Great services and amenities …
Lack of communication is the only issue. Rest is really good. Can’t wait for the new building. Hope it goes well
Pleasant staff sausage wasn’t cooked though our dog didn’t mind bacon was hard other than that it was good at a reasonable price
Nightingale ward were amazing, on three separate occasions over the last 10 years, even through covid they have never failed to be kind, professional and supportive

I can only comment on how rude the front counter / phone staff are…and they are very rude. Calling someone “Darling” doesn’t make rudeness OK! …
Shocking the parking is a joke , it’s a good job my wife was with to drop me off or else I would have missed my appointment. !
Don’t bother, tell you one thing then disappear to never be seen again, another member of staff comes along tells you another story and off they go to never be seen again, honestly don’t waste your time go elsewhere, we wish we did.
The NHS staff, from the 999 call handler to the staff at A&E and all the Drs and nurses are amazing . Calow hospital has done so much for my family over the years . #saveournhs #solidaritywithnhsstaff
A Big thank you to all the staff nurses and doctor’s on Jan 4th morning. You would have thought you were private by the detail and attention I received for my illness. This hospital has made huge improvements. I encountered the best of attention and communication today at the Emergency Day Centre. An efficient and seamless, streamlined process , caring, knowledgeable staff, well trained on professional communication and huge attention to cleanliness. Thank you so much .
They don’t answer phones, cancel appointments you have waited nearly a year for, and don’t bother ringing you when you have a telephone appointment
Mr Olarinde is the kindest human being. When my mother died, he couldn’t have been any more compassionate. I have had some truly bad experiences at this hospital but Mr Olarinde is one of the good guys. Please take care of my husband who is now under your care xx thanks
I have had several visits and stays here in various departments over the past 12 years and every time the staff and care you get are first class. I was recently in after suffering a heart attack and the treatment and diagnosis was excellent.

They dont look after you well. No scan, no doctor, looong waiting time, wrong diagnosis, no interpreter, no reception in the hospital, no wifi and nobody take responsibility. Welcome to nhs.
My F-in-law needed a Doppler scan. He can hardly walk. Found a wheelchair, got to dept,he was seen before appt time. We didn’t stay with him, because of Covid-19,+ hospital rules. Free parking at that time. Back home within the hour! Good service!
Fantastic staff. Came in with my daughter who had a pulled arm. 2 ladies with dark pony tails and a man in a and e were so good. My daughter calls the man the chocolate man! They fixed her and sent her on her way no problem. I’m sure that 2 of these staff were there at her birth as well. Thank you so much x

The nursing staff are excellent but if you’re in need of emergency coronary care go to Sheffield ,mum was sent home twice after chest pains the 3rd time was too late
Nobody works there worse than trying to contact bt when I was there 8 people on the desk doing nothing so why does it take 60mins to answer a phone.i was sympathetic towards NHS but no more they are lazy and think they have it hard would be faster for me to qualify as a doctor than get someone to help
I cannot praise the staff in the Endoscopy dept highly enough. All of them were so very kind & reassuring. The procedure i had went very smoothly & the staff were wonderful. I was treated with respect & kindness from the moment I entered the hospital to the time I left. Very impressive in every way
