Write a ReviewI have 2 experiences in this hospital. My son was born there when it was still May Day, and everything was outstanding, from the facilities to the attention we received from the nursing staff and doctors. …
My sister was the victim of a hit and run on Friday – the police that waited with her were so lovely and helpful and then on our arrival at Mayday, we checked in promptly with lovely receptionists – the lady at the main receptionist was …
Absolut nightmare !
Came in twice this weekend for my Son . …
The basic requirement to provide a health service was covered. However the standard of this service was very poor. Most of the time staff did not have much of an idea as to the needs of the patients. Regularly deliberately ignoring them and …
This hospital should be closed down for good .!!!!! Bought my child there for burns and they had her sitting down for hours and paid no attention to her burns . They never paid attention to her at all. The nurses never put anything on her …
I’d like to say a huge thank you to the maternity team, from triage through to Hope Ward. I’ve just been discharged after a bit of a scare and I can safely say I was treated with absolute kindness, care and consideration the whole time. The …
Disgraceful service. My daughter has been in A & e since 8om….its now 2.20 am… Staff sat around doing nothing. One desk to register.. Then to another desk to register again. No service to speak of and because shes over 15 she’s not a …
Unfortunately, they’re understaffed and it takes a long time to be seen. I spent 9 hours here last year in A&E, my relative was mysteriously ill (turned out to be chicken pox). In the end, I had to insist that we be sent home because we …
If I could give minus stars I would, my mother sadly passed away a few days ago and she had the unfortunate experience of being admitted to this awful hospital, absolutely no communication relating to mums prognosis, I had a lasting power …
I am pregnant at the moment and my husnand and myself are expecting baby by March. Tbh I have never ever seen this careless midwives and doctors. I was given antibiotic medication for diseases/ problems that I never had. Nothing was …

my son was crying until 11pm and no one cared. …
I wish I could give a black star to this hospital. My wife has a severe back problem. She had already undergone 3 procedures last year but she never had any relief. On 3rd June, we called 111 as my wife was unable to move and was in lot of …
Absolutely shocking service. I had a telephone appointment with a doctor, waited all day long without any contact from them. No consideration of anyone’s health situation whatsoever. Kept chasing them eventually got through to find out they had “emergency” and now next available date in a two weeks time.
We recently had a planned C-section at Croydon hospital and all of the relevant appointments appointments here for the whole pregnancy. …
I know the hospital gets a lot of flack but honestly I haven’t had a bad experience here, and I have quite a few appointments. Most recently I’ve needed an ECG, appt came through within a day of referral for 8 days later. A physio referral …
I will have to say the midwifes are amazing at their jobs. And I never forget what they did. Helping me and my little one. They deserve a lot of credit for their hard work and dedication to their jobs 😇😇 and again thank you 💙🙏🏻😇 …
Thank you CUH ER staff for your treatment this morning. I had an ulcer on my left eye that kept me awake all night. After taking the max painkillers I called 111 at 5am and was immediately referred to the Croydon AandE department. I waited …
Considering how much Croydon University Hospital angers people, I can’t fault them with my current health concerns. When they thought I had ovarian cancer they organised the scan and mri really quickly. Got the results a few days later, …
This centre and the treatment within (with exception of the clinical team) is why it is imperative that hospitals train their staff that patients are people not statistics or breaches on an excel spreadsheet. Shocking! I am actually lost for words.
An Amazing Team at the maternity unit, I couldn’t have asked for better, I had such a great stay and was well looked after. A huge thank you to T.Williams, Akosua, Sylvia and the other ladies who took good care of me and my baby, God bless you all for all you do x
Its not the worst, they give you treatments you need and helped me cure my tonsilitis but it takes VERY long. it took us about 6 hours of waiting for everything, and its not very hygenic and some staff is rude but other than that its a nice hospital, i was born here.
Im only giving 1 star because im not able to give 0. This establishment’s negligence killed my unborn grand daughter in 2021, my son in law has been living with untreated diabetes for 2 years because, although blood tests confirmed the …
The Croydon elective center is a great facility. It’s a hospital within a hospital where everyone is tested before entering. The staff are friendly, caring and efficient as are the surgeon’s and team. If you have surgery here, you are in good hands.
A good experience this morning at A and E waiting to have my ankle X Rayed. All done within 2 hours. Staff could not have been more helpful. I was dreading going but really impressed once there.
Went in 2021 with repeated tachycardia. 4 hours to be seen is ok but no treatment offered just go see your gp. If I could see a gp then I would but they refuse to see us. It’s now 2023 and aft 2 years I finally got referred to Kings
Awful place, no respect for patients or concerned family. Impossible to get hold of doctors for any kind of communication or updates. Nurses provide inconsistent and inaccurate information and made errors on basic things like whether …
Excellent treatment from 111, ambulance service and hospital staff all treated me with respect they were professional, caring and thorough. I felt reassured and in safe hands
Unless there are no options wouldn’t advise coming to the A and E or UCC here. They made us wait over an hour then said we had to get an X-ray done. Waited another hour after the X-ray but they can still not tell us how long it will be …
My husband had a nasty fall at home. We went to A & E. Doctor called Lucy was very professional & compassionate. haahad a CT ahCT
Good afternoon, I went to get help at Croydon hospital, I was there 3 times due to a big mistake they made with me at S.Tomas hospital, the first time I was taken by ambulance, the second time I went to the emergency room with my daughter …
The maternity department in the hospital is outstanding – especially now I’ve spoken to other mums having given birth elsewhere and comparing experiences – I would 100% recommend choosing CUH as a place to give birth. Thank you for your support during labour and postpartum!
I’ve recently moved to the area and unfortunately had to use the services of this hospital a few times. I’ve read some of the other reviews and agree that the A&E experience could be better – this is by definition a volatile department, but …
I have been to the phlebotomy clinic twice in the space of 3 months for a fasting blood test. Not had a bad experience here and the staff are very friendly. I would advise people to ring the department and make an appointment – on both …
I’ve had a LLETZ treatment done under general anaesthesia today. Been so stressed but thankfully everything went smoothly. Doctors and nurses were so nice, helpful and supportive. Made me very calm and comfortable. I feel extremely satisfied. Thank you!
I went to A&E recently and I was told to stay overnight in the hospital after remaining in A&E for over 4 hours. I asked the nurse, Johrley Anne (who was working just near the kids A&E area) about my the medication the doctor told me I …
My Child is well and that’s down to the A and E children’s department! The care is top quality! The Doctors and nurses are god’s and angels 😇 …
This is a disgusting, the most terrible hospital I ever seen. I had an appointment with gynaecologist, I arrived at the Croydon university hospital before my scheduled appointment. The front desk told me to go to maternity unit which I did, …

Just got back from a & e with my 85 Yr old mum who fell over. Can’t thank the staff enough, they were great, caring and efficient. We called 111 first and were given a time to arrive. It then took 2 hours including xray and thorough consultation with a lovely doctor.
Visited Croydon hospital twice in last six months. Once when I broke my foot and once when my baby had an escalating fever. Didn’t have a long wait in either case and all staff we dealt with were first class. A very good hospital in my experience.
Its not a first come first serve basis. People who came after me were seen before irrespective of the severity of my daughter’s condition. Please introduce a ticket machine to help with fairness. …
Feels like a hospital in a third world country, the patients and the staff complement each other quite well. Will drive for hours in the opposite direction to seek medical assistance then come back here.
All the staff are lovely. Had an eye injection and I actually didn’t have to wait long in between treatments. Can’t fault anything !
I cannot fault this place.
I had an existing eye problem & local optician referred me to a cornea consultant. …
Worst hospital in South London, they have a number for you to call, but nobody answers. The Government need to privatise the NHS, overrated, with doctors who have no sense of compassion or empathy.
First of all, the hospital itself is horrendous as is but after a recent experience, I can truly stand by this statement wholeheartedly. …
My Gran was brought in today because her carers found her unresponsive, thank god wen she reached the hospital she had come round. Unfortunately though my Gran is bed bound with Dementia the hospital staff knew this and when we asked about …

I can’t believe I have bee sitting at Croydon University for over 4 hrs. I have witnessed everything from nose bleeds to patients sleeping on the floor. …
The front desk staffs were nice. After waiting 2 hours to be seen. Only to be given ear drops without the doctor looking into my ear to see what was wrong and rushed me off. I asked questions and he responded that’s it and asked me to leave …
Took my daughter today to have a look at her arm. Helped the children’s A&E was fairly quiet when we arrived but have to say, all the staff from receptionist, security, Drs and Nurses were all very polite and helpful. We were there for 3 hours in total which included having a cast put on! First time there. Very impressed.
My experience in phlebotomy was very much disappointing. Because you walk in an hospital you whould expect a certain treatment, because you are there to take care of people and make them feel safe and give a positive energy. A smile or good …
Came in in ambulance after suffering severe chest pains, ( bearing in mind they where informed id had a cardiac arrest 4 months prior) had ecg bloods taken , in emergency department then wherled through to a&e in a wheelchair and left there …

Very bad attitude, I’ve brought my wife at 11pm to A&E she is having very bad pain, and it’s 4:15 we are still waiting
They don’t care who come early or who come late, they are saying we got our system.
