I was admitted to A&E on the advice of my dentist where I had an absess in my gums causing excessive swelling. Their prompt action leading to surgery saved my life. I was kept in for two nights observation in C4 ward. The staff work very …
I have two osteoporotic compression fractures in my spine. I was dreading having to lie on the flat surface for the MRI scan. The staff were so very helpful, making sure that i was comfortable before they started the scan I cannot thank them enough. . It was done very promptly too, I did not have to wait.
A huge Thank You for the awesomeness of the staff! My daughter was admitted here in A&E and it was her first hospitalisation so full of mental stress for all of us. Sorry, I was very much stressed so couldn’t remember all the names of the …
They ruined my life 😭 had suffered a severe trauma and didn’t receive the surgery I needed until 13 days after my accident. And that was only after I had to point out the law to the receptionist. When I did eventually get the surgery, the …
What absolutely fabulous, professional staff. Having been referred via 111 on Christmas day to urgent treatment centre, I was seen in unit by a member of the Maxillo-Facial team. He and all staff in department I cannot thank enough or …
This hospital is a shambles, so unorganised and do not communicate with each other. They repeatedly book appointments on a Sunday at 9am for cancer scans, when there is no buses and not fit to drive by the dvla. They also book two separate …

The cheeky b’stards block all TV on your phone/iPad/etc, so you have to pay £8 if you want to watch TV while you’re trying to recover. What gits
Great stuff,very friendly and open

I am very pleased and impressed about my experience at Children’s Unit …
I had to attend A and E/critical treatment unit after fracture to hand whilst on holiday. All the staff were amazing; they were kind, attentive and reassuring. I was impressed with the speed at which I was seen and treated – 4 hours from …
Regularly here this year, couple admissions and follow up appointments being well looked after in all departments.
What a great team of people working together and achieving so much ,the volume of people treated was beyond what I would have thought possible and the quality of care given could not have been better ,A lot could be learned from this team ontop of that they are all so nice
Fast and efficient
Great care from the staff
Car parking ( multistorey) has a lot of spaces……but the only pay machine is in the main hospital not the car park. Car park charges on the photo
It took 3 hours for 999 emergency ambulance. Got there given wrong drugs for my condition, sat in again for 6 hours , no doctor checked me out , lied to by a doctor who then went for a break instead of given me the correct treatment! …
Parking nightmare, up and up and round and round until space at top if lucky. Otherwise always do their very best.
After trying to fight it off for nearly 48 hours, I had an asthma attack that I couldn’t co trol frustratingly! After calling 111, who wanted to send an ambulance (refused as we could drive), we drove to A&E. …
Just wanted to say on my mother initially getting great care on her being admitted due to abdominal pain the doctors and nurses great. But next day she was seen by a young tall fair headed doctor, he walked over to her and put hands on his …

I have never been to such a good hospital!
The staff couldn’t of been more thorough and every staff member I met was so kind. …
The staff in Poole are generally more caring but there are exceptions to the rule.
Recent attendance at the hospital as a result of passing out on a golf course, not caused by the brilliance of my play regrettably. …

My wife is going through a miscarriage with very high blood pressure and although 111 helpline was good and the staff on arrival, we had a 6 hour + wait time and after two hours partners or anyone helping support they loved ones in a time …
This is a hospital alright. They have doctors and nurses and people who take your blood out. Too much blood? This is the place to go.
We attended A&E following a 111 call on the wednesday, attended the same day to be assessed, a follow up was required and an appointment made for the following Monday to be seen for further assessment and literally operated on today. All …
Superb hospital maternity brilliant A@E and urgent care great staff
Absolutely no idea how to cope with patients with dementia. Truly shocking.
Just like to thank everyone at Poole hospital that put up with me over the last 6 days and for putting me back together again
The staff at the Urgent Treatment Centre are amazing, you can see they are literally falling asleep on their feet from tiredness but they always are happy and provide the right treatment. The waiting room needs to be enlarger as it is too small.
I went in a few times for assessments and minor surgery. From my experience, all the staff that were on duty at those times were considerate, understanding and very helpful. Even if they weren’t the one looking after you they’d just ask as …
Had a hernia opp here all staff brilliant
I have had several surgerys ànd it’s amazing professional
Well signposted, easy to find your way around. Staff were lovely, very accomodating and helpful. Parking is a little expensive – we paid £4 for one appointment 🙄. …
I’m a week now in this hospital – staff is overworked, understaffed and this leads into complications in care ! Food is disgusting, first step for great care should be good as the right diet is essential for body to heal ! As funds are …
Had a Liver Biopsy the doctor and nurses who carried this out were fab and really help me with my anxiety, and we’re great and very understanding. The staff who cared for me after we also great. However ended up calling an ambulance after …
Used to be great 5 years ago. You could easily get an appointment, speak to the doctor etc. Now they offer you telephone appointments which they don’t attend and then send you letters asking why you didn’t attend. Then when you try to …
Arrived on the Thursday morning after suffering pain for seven days and nights . i had tonsilitis and , an abscess at the back of my throat . they lanced the abscess and , within minutes , i was feeling great . stayed in over night in a …
Beyond shocking! Sat in A&E for over 5 hours with my little boy! Offered him pain relief, NONE brought, he’s 11! About 100 people in there! Staff rude AF! No clue at all, complaint being made! Only decent thing was the security guard who didn’t expect me to pay over £8 for parking! Never again will I visit this shambles of a hospital!
The worst, unhygienic hospital ever. If you don’t get sick off the poor quality food the untrained nurses will do a better job. Arrogant over confident but complete incompetent nurses and drs. This place needs burning to the ground
Just want to write a review about the amazing maxfax team! Had my appointment yesterday, I was an absolute mess before attending the hospital (covid worries & anxiety panic) but I saw maybe 6 different people, at xray, bloods ect and they …
I have tried for several weeks on and off to get through to speak to someone about an appointment. There is no one I can speak to!!! literally, no one is answering any of the phones!!! if I happen to be able to get thorough to the …
Clean, tidy, staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
Place is what it is NHS staff trying to do the best they can
Very Poor, absolutely worst experience every. I arrived to Urgent treatment centre at 8am with compressed spine disc and after guy in reception booked me in, he ask me to wait in the waiting room. When I ask him if I can get some pain …

I had a Gastroscopy this morning carried out by Endoscopist, Rosie Bray. Rosie and her team were excellent; friendly and professional and kept me informed and at ease throughout. Everyone who looked after me in the Endoscopy Department were super efficient and lovely to deal with. 10/10
Big up the NHS
Poole hospital is a life saver and vital to our community…

17 phone calls, 2 complaints calls, 6 hours down A&E and 3 hours waiting in Ear, Nose and Throat over 3 months. To change a phone number, then for me to receive a letter asking for a phone number 2 weeks later. …
CQC report – Safe ‘Requires Improvement’. My Father, as a Porter at Poole Hospital used to describe it as the ‘Gold’ Standard of care and I’m sad to say that it falls far short of that now. The permanent Nursing Staff are truly fantastic and their great asset, however, the Consultants do not follow through with the basics of care.
Amazing staff and care of our 5 month old that needed oxygen and nebuliser treatment for a chest infection. What would make this place perfect is temperature control in the rooms which seem to be able to maintain at least 25 degrees even with windows open and fans on. Also a larger car park.
I was admitted last Monday with suspected Diverticulitis. Right from the start the medical staff in the emergency department were wonderful, had to wait a little bit for a bed to become available, but all good things take time. …
Pretty Good hospital , went in on a ambulance tachycardic and got sent straight to the A&E and they took some blood and sent me to the children’s ward , By then i was still tachycardic but felt assured with the nurse giving some food and …
This rating is for Lytchett Ward quite the best ward in Poole hospital in my opinion and we have sampled several lately. Why do I score it this way? Its predominantly because the staff still LISTEN to patients and carers rather than being …
My friend woke up on Saturday with fewer, sore throat and enlarged toncilis. So we got to Pool Hospital emergency and I have to say I did not expect such a pleasant experience. Almost no waiting time, all personal (doctor, nurses, receptionist) was very kind and caring and helpful. Thank you for that!
The low review put on here in my name is a fake account and is my stalker of 11 years who is obsessed with me, I have my third non molestation order on him and this is a crime he is committing. …
I am 94 and have just spent 8 nights in Poole hospital. I thought I may have cracked or fractured a bone in my wrist. I went to Poole hospital by ambulance. In A and E, or Major, I was X-rayed, no break but arthritic wrist and gout, maybe …
Absolutely awful experience. I arrived 20 min before my appointment just to be thrown out of the waiting area and i’ve been told to come back closer to my apointment time. I had a recent surgery for my thumb and had a broken foot and was …
Never again worst hospital ever…. lack of communication and updates to patients family let alone a patient fall on the ward which we were never told about but only on discharge. don’t bother making a complaint they say someone will get back to you but gets brushed under the carpet AVOID !!!!
Busy Dorset hospital, have always been well looked after here. Old building. Long walk from busy multistorey carpark and other parking options are limited.
I don’t live in Poole, but was visiting when I began to feel really unwell. After two days I decided I had to go to A and E as I have high blood pressure and my symptoms seemed to be those of pre-heart attack. I don’t go to an A and E …
Today I had an appointment at Dermatology. I was pleased to find staff so friendly, the waiting area comfortable and light. My appt was on time, with excellent time give me from Dr, nurses and clerical staff. Then being sent for tests, any …
Attended A and E with broken ankle last Saturday night The prompt and perfect care I recieved whilst here was amazing. Every member of staff who helped me was so kind patient and caring.Had to attend again today with further problems again …
I have always been well looked after on the few occasions I have been an inpatient. A&E can be very busy due to Government cuts. If one is an urgent case, they are marvelous. Poole has to remain the acute hospital as RBH is on the other side of Bournemouth and will result in poor outcomes for many people.
Once again the care and compassion I have recently received at Poole hospital has been exceptional. As an allied health professional myself, I am only too aware of the many challenges NHS staff face but that doesn’t stop the hospital …
