Absolute joke of a council. You ring up and get pushed from pillar to post, no one seems to know what they’re doing or what department you need. After being on hold and put through to 3 different departments I’ve now had the phone hung up on me. 40 minutes of my life I’ll never get back and my issue is still unresolved.

Only thing to say, is out of all my debts, these Knobs had the cheek to say, “well Surely, This Is your Highest Priority Debt!! “Council Tax” Rude people who seriously don’t give a toss, Good luck in Ringing!!

Wanted to talk to someone about gritting a road that is like an ice rink. Families use this road to cut through to get to school quicker and cars to avoid a junction. Many elderly residents too. Gave up after 17 minutes. Went online but still not able to ask questions. Requested a grit bin.

If I could give lower I would. Reading other reviews seems common for the council to ignore genuine processing/training issues which if sorted would make the council a more effective service for everyone. Should be held accountable for their own mistakes then maybe would learn by them

Repair was for today. Got message saying I wasn’t in so have to rebook. Was sat on the sofa waiting for them and surprise surprise no knock. Didn’t even dare go to the toilet and was bursting to go. Liars

Rang up 3 times now 4! Even emailed. Say they are gonna process it and hear nowt back worse council about! Wouldn’t waste my time

A lot of negative reviews, but I’ve found different areas better than my previous Council in Sheffield and so far I’m happy with their services and I’ve always managed to speak to someone where’s in Sheffield you have to wait over one hour on occasions!

Outright liars stating bins weren’t collected as they were inaccessible. Paying for a service they aren’t providing. They’re ripping people off. Don’t try phoning as they won’t answer unless to take your cash. Would give zero stars if possible. Totally incapable.

I rang spoke to a young Gentleman who was most helpful. Credit where credit Due. Only down side is how long it takes to get through on the phone.

Social care don’t care about situations or helping out just destroy family’s that haven’t done anything wrong

Beware anybody given a fixed penalty notice. Make sure the FPN reference number has been filled out. Mine wasn’t and it is proving difficult to actually pay the fine. Was this done purposely? Just had a meeting with council re social housing, the staff couldn’t be more helpful or polite. We also had a meal in the cafe with the family, it too was just the job. The building is quite a nice place to visit on its own, with Cafe and Library to look around. Tickety Boo

Received a letter from Rotherham council explaining the refuse sites will be open from Wednesday 6th may from 9am . Went Thursday morning staff there had no idea and said it will be opening at 10.30 !!! can’t even get times right.

Housing and council tax departments do no know their arse from their elbow. Whoever decided this council is now fit for purpose obviously doesn’t rent one of their properties or pay council tax to RMBC. We have one of the highest C/tax rates outside London, and for what??!

After a very negative response from Sheffield regarding finding a new care home for my Aunt after hers closed I contacted Rotherham Social Services. They could not have been more helpful. Within three days we had found a place for her in a Rotherham Council Carehome.
