I’d like to say a massive thank you to the male receptionist who went above and beyond for me whilst visiting yesterday. I couldn’t walk due to breaking my foot. This man ran all over the hospital to find me a wheelchair. Made my visit so much more comfortable. Thank you so much your care and compassion was amazing. Regards Tracy

I went here recently for a Colonoscopy. I was scared and anxious about the outcome. The staff here are excellent. I felt safe and reassured every step of the way. This is the first time I have had treatment at this hospital. I would definitely come here again if I need to.
Genuinely caring staff who all worked hard as a professional team to sort out my medical emergency. I was dropped off as a very ill person and 36 hours later after staying overnight on Ward F7 walked out much, much healthier. A really big thanks to all concerned, you are a credit to the NHS.
A complete Joke of a place. I had 4 recalls to give blood samples for a pre op test. The last 2 were done just 24 hours before the operation was due at the operation hospital. I had to check with the operation ward that they had them. Oldhams reason for the recalls “I had rare blood” I complete LIE.
I was admitted to the hospital with a perianal abscess which was near 3cm large.. I was in surgery for a few hours, I really must thank the amazing SAU department, male nurses and the anthetists for their understanding and kindness. I held …
To the gentleman this morning who collected me on the ‘Royal Rover’ mini bus after spotting me struggling to take my collection (items ordered for an external organisation) to parking yonks away, thank you – lovely man and a God send when your backs aching and you’re lugging two cardboard boxes. Thank you!

A&E – this is the worst place I had ever visited, been there couple of times in last year or so due to my little ones illness. Last time, we had to abandon due …
If you’re coming to Oldham hospital you’re going to need a compass, enough water to last 3 days, a tent and some spare clothes because it’s a Labyrinth and you’re going to be walking around for days. Whoever put the signs up was having a …
Very bad hospital the worst hospital i saw in this country!! There r only 2 ppl waiting! Only 2 children my son and someone else waiting!
BTW 7 hours waiting and not seen the dr! How funny is that!!! …
It’s only when you visit A&E that you witness first hand the pressure that the whole team are under at all levels, yet remain calm, caring and professional. I can’t express enough respect and thanks to these amazing people that are taken for granted by us all!
After I was knocked off of my Motorbike in May 2019 the Paramedics brought me to Royal Oldham Hospital. The speed I was processed was quite quick.
I was admitted on the Monday. Operation done on my leg on the Tuesday and I was …
It is a very bad service for disabilities and especially deaf. Absolutely hopeless and useless.

My recent visit to AnE was made all the more pleasant by a hca called Lynette Sanderson. Also, the rest of the staff were excellent.
6:30 waiting for someone to see my 22-month-old baby! Shame to see babies with just a few days – of waiting. People stand with their children because of a lack of places to seat. Absolutely no apologies or explanation about what was going …
Having to deal with doctors who got their degree abroad and now work for the NHS is appalling!.. …
Very pleased with the care provided. We’ll mannered staff. Good follow up aftercare

I’ve had some experience waiting in line at the ROH (9hours) and it’s no fun. But I have to say that when it really counts, like having a very serious operation, the staff are brilliant. I can’t thank them enough for the time they gave me …
This is one of the worst hospitals i have ever encountered.
Having never been in hospital for over 30 years i did not know what to expect, however, i expected basic care. …
Absolutely disgrace! Large families are allowed in the A and E department however when it came to me I was not even allowed to have my mother with me. They’re where no posters and lady at reception didn’t explain any procedures if one was in this place. Waiting hours are horrendous , people with an ear ache are getting seen before me 😂 …

worst hospital in the country, no wonder the majority of reviews are so bad, my dad was rushed in with breathing problems, turned out to be pneumonia, i had to tell a nurse in a&e that oxygen was needed immediately, he was like ‘yer ok’ then …
1. Some time ago had a miscarriage, spent there ca. 8 hours waiting for a scan as nurces/technician were chatting for hours but not doing any job. Reception nurces were calling women and reading Wikipedia articles as ‘advise’ in case of …
My step daughter was there for a day surgery appointment, arrived at 7.30am. She was still waiting to see a doctor for discharge at 8.00 pm. No wonder my wife died there after 2 days “care” in 2020. They should be ashamed of themselves, I’d sooner take my chances at home than be admitted there.
Nice little friend you have there guys….
Overall every visit I have felt in good hands although our last visit (4 January 2022) with my brother whom has learning difficulties we was told there was no doctors!! And that at 1am we wouldn’t be seen until 7am… So 2 stars, I can’t …
My sister was taken to the Royal Oldham after been found collapsed on her kitchen floor. They did a thorough review and after her waiting for over 3 hours informed her everything was normal no concerns. No drinks or food offered. Then the …
The place was like a building site. I had to go in at the front and travel through to the back because of the building work. The staff are brilliant. Fast, friendly and efficient service once I got in.
The hospital is very racist and very abusive I will recommend you to go to Rochdale hospital, not racist and not abusive. I will not going back to Royal Oldham hospital also if had a choice, I would give this hospital 0 stars.
the most traumatic experience of my life!
the gynecology early pregnancy unit is a joke, a bad terrible joke for the patients that are waiting for hours to be seen by a doctor who can’t do anything! …
Absolute shambles it’s took me over an hour to park to then spend 35 mins trying to pay for the parking! Nothing is made easy atall I’ve got my son in the car waiting to go to A&E and I’m still trying to pay! It’s 2022 how can you not pay for parking on card 🤬 …
For the life of me I can’t understand how a hospital has less parking than my local Aldi.
Absolutely horrendous hospital, dirty and staff haven’t got a clue. I went to a&e as I couldn’t breathe ( covid patient ) was put in a wheelchair in a corridor which is the same corridor ambulance staff come in and out of so the door …
10 hour a&e wait, no pain meds given for my wife, chaotic a&e dept,
I had a really bad experience at this hospital, I had a injury in my right arm, made an x ray when I don’t have a broken arm, it’s not “bones” but a distended muscle problem, stayed all night on a bed, vomiting, as the paramedics gave me …
I was taken to Oldham Royal A&E after a cycling accident with a suspected fractured femur. From being treated by the excellent ambulance staff and passed on to the A&E staff who confirmed the diagnosis the whole process was seamless. …

Can’t praise the staff and volunteers enough but please get the parking sorted out. Brought my mum for a biopsy, she’s a blue badge holder and can barely walk at the moment. Had to eventually abandon her in the entrance with a volunteer …
Would give zero if possible. First time mum at Oldham ended up in an ‘emergency’ section. Which a couple years later, after a successful VBAC, we realised was wholly unnecessary. Unnecessary SURGERY. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over the …
There are not enough parking spaces, allow an extra 45 minutes before any appointment to give you enough time to park. On one of the carparks I used both of the ticket machines were out of order and the pay by phone service they offered was unavailable.
Very efficient handling of a chest pain by A&E and the medical department. I was given a priority card on entry and taken quickly through for ECG and blood tests. I was treated quickly and professionally, with everything explained to me at …
So it’s been over 7 hours since arriving at A&E and we are still waiting. So far at least 3 prisoners have after but already been seen. It took an hour to be triaged and then over 6 hours wait. It’s not busy in here as most people couldn’t …
A&E waiting area its like 4 degrees freezing and they do it on purpose so ppl get fed up of waiting en go home its a shame i was frozen and what about elderly ppl waiting in there
The wait is absolutely ridiculous and the receptionist at the children’s ward is really really rude. I have experienced alot of rude mannered nurses at that hospital who dont know how to deal with patients. They respond back and talk to …
I was in ward ( AMU)Acute Medical Unit. Complained about a nurse who very slow at doing his job, was on antibiotics through a drip got air in the line. Had to have another needle in my arm. I was told staff nurse will speak to me plus the …
On the whole the staff were okay. A couple of nurses were outstanding. A couple of nurses were abrupt, rude, and inefficient. I feel the NHS is broken! Therefore the knock on affect is poor care. I was made to feel like a nuisance. Even …
I can’t praise Oldham enough!

Abolusotly digusted by the service. Waiting time 5 hrs but end up waiting more longer. Staff are ignorant. Disgusted by the communication. This used to be a good hospital and treatment was good hence I had come here. Previously my child …
Shocking experience. Brought my 93 year old mother as advised by carers Sat in A @ E for 4 and a half hours been told another 4 hours. Left my mother sat in a wheelchair in the waiting room. We’ve just been told one doctor on covering several departments.
My mother has had extremely severe pain recently and we’ve been here twice recently. Ambulance staff are hit and miss. Some of them prefer to crack cheesy jokes instead of comforting a patient. Upon entering A and E, the queue of beds went …
Can’t thanks the staff enough for looking after my wife with the birth of our baby. 1st class care ans attention at all times. Very pleased.
This is the worse place ever the midwife’s are so rude and it’s terrible with communication it’s like being sat in India at a hospital appalling system
All our tax money going to waste when the nhs department is so terrible
