Write a ReviewAmazing hospital, sent to a&e with a detached retina on a Saturday afternoon, treated and realised by 10.40pm on the evening. The specialist nurse was not as helpful but she did ring the off duty consultant who came in straight away. Great consultants 😊 Saved my eye sight. Thank you …
Took my Godson to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital after a car accident.
I must say how wonderful everyone we came into contact was. …
Arrived at 9.15 am . Fairly quite in A and E. Got seen by nurse within 15 minutes . Then sent for blood tests and ECG. All completed within an hour . Had to wait for blood results which came back in an hour .saw Dr who carried out various …
I have been having monthly blood tests at the phlebotomy department for over two years and I have never had to wait. My treatment has always been on time and the staff are very helpful, friendly and smiling. Well done all of you
I’m from Birmingham, and whilst on a short break I broke my ankle. And was sent to the Royal Shrewsbury hospital .a and e were very efficient and speedy. Operated on the very next day A special nod to miss Hever the orthopedic surgeon. I …
Brilliant operation, however despite nursing staff doing their best, and I have every sympathy, they were totally full on occupied nearly every second and short staffed. Left ASAP as I fortunately had someone to look after me at home. …
I’ve had bowel surgery and my whole experience has been so supportive. From my initial tests and consultations it has been a faultless and seemless journey. I’m still on the ward hoping to go home within the next couple of days. Anyone due to attend for surgery, have no fear, you are in good hands. Thanks RSH X
I brought my one year old baby for a head cut and the whole staff was amazing. Very careful, gentle and lovely with my baby. Excellent care.
They let my Nan die, they told us that she had a blocked bowel and they never done anything about it. They never gave her the emergency operation that she deserved. They injected her with lots of vaccines over the years and I believe that …
Sort your admin out!
Sent a letter to my father giving him 3 days notice for surgery for an aortic aneurysm, it details that IT is surgery and how to prepare and what to bring and …
Staff are lovely unfortunately very overworked which results in miscommunication. Wait times are long due to this. Healthcare assistants i honestly can not fault, some consultants arent the best and just want people out instead of fixing the problem.
Great service in the Cardiology department. Nurses did their tests, cardiologist was easy to talk to and answered lots of questions. Left the Hospital feeling as though I was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner.
Absolutely shocking. I now realise how broken the NHS really is if this hospital’s emergency service is representative of the NHS nationwide. I took myself to the hospital and presented as an emergency on the direction of my GP. Waited 2 …
Had a number of ops here in the last few years, and staff have always been wonderful. Like most hospitals, they are extremely busy often with lines of ambulances outside A&E. Situation has improved recently with changes being implemented to speed admissions.
Attended the endoscopy unit today. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Maggie did the procedure she was friendly explained everything and very professional in her care
Thank you

Worst hospital going! Mental health team on site are horrendous. They don’t care about your mental health at all. Would not recommend this hospital for neither physical and mental health. The NHS need some serious improvements, don’t even deserve 1 star
Very run down, possibly the worst hospital stay I have experienced. First time at this hospital and I hope it’s my last. Poor hygiene and cleanliness although some of the staff were lovely others need to be retrained as we’re unattentive and had no bedside manner
I have recently had eye surgery in the Treatment centre. The care I was given was first class
I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Thank you Richard MacGregor
AUDIOLOGY Dept.
Returned my 7 year old hearing aids for repair recently. Returned replacements in a couple of days. Excellent service as always.
Waiting for 2 hours and only seen when I told a nurse, but otherwise a good visit

Brilliant A&E staff and minors team. Walked in on Friday afternoon polite and happy receptionist. Seen in 15 mins by triage Sister who was professional and thorough despite being interrupted by urgent enquiries. 10 minutes later and through …
They go above and beyond many other supposedly CQC “outstanding” hospitals to actually provide care that’s needed.
No one really wants to go to a hospital, but sometimes you have too,
Clean and tidy inside, parking is a bit of a squeeze and trying to walk around the building is awkward as lots of cars park on pavements and on grass verges.
Parking was possible although busy and mostly full. We were looking for the fracture clinic which is not sign posted. We had no idea where to go, and its a big site. My Mom is 81 and can’t hear well and wanted me to go to the treatment room …
Disgusting a&e doctor who was rude obnoxious & did not consider my mother as urgent and did not take her condition seriously which it clearly was because she deteriorated! He Treated her like she was idiot. DONT TRAIN AS A DOCTOR if you …
I had an endoscopy at RSH on Friday and could not have asked for a better experience. A great team of professional and quietly reassuring nurse practitioners and nurses, working really well together, made this an unexpectedly smoother and …

I took my wife to the hospital on 6th August 2022 with stomach pains. It turned out to be gall bladder problems and the gall bladder had to be removed. I was very happy with the way she was treated by all the staff at the hospital. I can’t thank them enough.
Horrible service- no phone answer for hours when my gran got admitted. Finally got through and rude staff. Finally found out where she was and was in for 3 weeks but nothing but rudeness and lack of communication from staff. At one point …
Went into hospital last week and was taken care of by the beautiful Sally on the medic ward and then again when I returned to A&E and Sally was the Triage nurse. She showed me kindness and empathy and really took care of me when I went …
After taking my Mum into RSH today I have the greatest appreciation and thanks to the amazing staff . The paramedics especially were amazing and made my Mum feel safe and looked after at all times.
I was admitted to ICU here and I can’t thank the staff enough. They are very special people who most certainly deserve our respect and admiration. I’m lucky and home now and I will never forget their care … thank you for being the amazing people you are ❤
Always a fabulous service and considering staff are ALWAYS short staffed they are always so lovely, the infusion suite staff and Dr butterworth couldn’t be any better.
Took a friend to the emergency department. As it got later on we needed coffee, the machine was down and a nurse or doctor made us coffee, even though busy. He was too kind. Thank you for taking the time. …
Busy and way too warm inside but always a smile from staff regardless of how busy they were
Awful experience here, I was brought in by an ambulance at 7am as I was in major pain after my operation, not only did Shrewsbury have me waiting in the back of the ambulance for 45 minutes instructing the paramedics not to give me pain …
Seems a lot more organised & less waiting time when attending appointments than in the past
I had to go to the walk in centre initially after a kidney stone was causing me a lot of pain. After blood tests and a CT scan I was admitted overnight. I was successfully treated the following morning.I cannot fault the staff and treatment I received. Absolutely brilliant, professional and friendly.Thank you .
My elderly friend fell from height. You’d think the A&E doctor would have ordered an X-ray at least. He was sent home after a 5 hour wait with paracetamol. Several days later, still in pain he calls his GP who was shocked to learn no checks …
I was admitted to a high-dependency ward, following a suspected heart-attack.

Disgusted with the fact of how certain staff have left my daughter in agony for hours, missing her medication times ”because she’s out of the way in a side room. ignoring her call bell, moving it out of the way so she can’t reach it. …

Shocking. But that’s to be expected from one of the worst trusts in the country. Staff that can’t be bothered, including consultants, who are handsomely paid by the taxpayer. Patient care is non existent. Maybe the staff that can’t be …
My Husband saw Mr Riera Portell at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital today. He has restored my faith in the National Health Service. He obviously had read all my husbands health history. We didn’t have to mention anything we may have had …
I must speak as I find – I had the unfortunate need to go via ambulance to A&E this week. I received the very best care and consideration from everyone. I was treated with professionalism and respect, and luckily was able to go home after treatment. I can only say thank you to everyone.

Thank God for the NHS and especially the front line workers.
The a&e is very basic and in need of an up date but the staff are great in this department. I’ve had a few visits here over the years due to a medical condition and I was always treated to the best of their ability due it being undiagnosed …
Went with my husband for a routine scan. Total efficiency from beginning to end from car parking to leaving. We were in and out even before the allotted appointment time. Well done X Ray department. Who says the health service is going downhill. Not me!

Need to learn how to answer the phones on wards. 47 calls to not be answered by wards after getting past reception is unacceptable. Especially with family that live far away after info about their loved ones. Even had the phone picked up and put down immediately to stop it ringing.
