I have lived in South Hamm’s for 18 months. It’s not a bad place, but ready to move on now. The worst aspect of the area is South Hamm’s district council. Any department, any service, or office is absolutely the most pathetic and inefficient to be found anywhere in the country. That includes Cornwall !!!!

13 weeks now without having our bins collected. Our road is also closed due to a collapsed wall and they’re refusing to fix this, stating it is a highway issue, even though it’s not the road that’s at fault. Absolute shambles.

Four ignored requests for Assisted Collection, formal complaint about having had no response also ignored. That’s simply organisational ineptitude.

Bin collections hit and miss, service just doesn’t come any worse than this, whoever is in charge needs to be fired!

Phoned the council offices today and spoke with both council Tax dept and Customer Services and found both to be more than helpfull.Can not fault them.Especially after dealing with Birmingham and North Warks.

I have been here on a few occasions usually relating to council tax or hb. I must say these guys are more than a few notches above the rest. And I actually get treated like a human being here 🙂

South hams should be more like south scam council the way the planning officers don’t do there jobs right and con you out of money and the way they all closed together to cover things up they have done wrong why should they get away with it I’m sure im not the only one now the original planning officer lies

Nasty staff. Seriously need investigating. The most inept council I have ever come across.

Wouldn’t waste your time contacting environmental health they do nothing.

Will be waiting until the next millennium for our brown bin to be emptied.

This is an extremely unhelpful system, you are lucky if you actually get to speak to a person, if you do you seem to get fobbed off and made to send an email, which takes three days to get a reply, what a waste of time.

Nightmare council planning department. Destroyed my life. Stay away at all costs
