Write a ReviewThe best and cleanest hospital in the Manchester area. Nursing care could be improved but the surgery was excellent. I just want to say a massive thanks to all the staff the doctor explained everything and there’s free parking
I love this hospital. They are so good in difficult situations; I’ve been twice with my three year old non-verbal child. Both times we were seen really quickly. Today my son had a bad gash after a fall and they could not have been more understanding and patient with him. Thank you for everything.
Absolute disgrace. The NHS is under unprecedented strain as we all know but it’s absolutely not helped by clueless, rude and frankly aggressive reception staff and outdated information on the hospitals website. This place has gone downhill rapidly and I wouldn’t return even if my life depended on it.
The children’s resource centre is brilliant the doctor/s and staff are brilliant! There was plenty of toys in the waiting area to help pass the time. The doctor we saw was amazing with my son eased his fears and made sure we all understood everything.
They lie and say you have an appointment and leave you sat there for 4 hours and get shirty with you when you ask questions. They refuse to help and understand people’s situations. Sloth speed work ethic. Probably the closest thing to hell …
Went today with my son who needed an xray on his foot. All the staff were lovely and caring and we were seen quickly. Could not ask for more.

Arrived at the hospital around 7:45 and was in extreme pain. Was told we’re closing soon and was kicked out onto the street in a life-threatening situation. Treated worse than a animal.
This was the first ever NHS hospital. Parking is free but very hard to get a place during busy times. …
I am an Outpatient at Cardiac Physiotherapy. I have been exercising there after being diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. All involved with my rehabilitation are the best!💜 …
Had a appointment for 08.30.
Arrived @ 08.15 & was treated very well. I was seen with in 10 minutes of my appointment time & was out by 08.55. Free parking is a great asset.
The staff were helpful, given all the exams and treatments that I needed for Emergency health issues.
They gave me most care. Friendly Doctors, Nurses and staffs. Very organized and …
This is a very good hospital that’s been open for years.the medical and non medical staff are excellent and really take care of you.its not the biggest hospital in greater Manchester but provides numerous services.had a decent sized carpark and plenty of buses go past the main entrance.
My mum is currently on AMU . She has dementia and I can’t praise the ward highly enough. The staff are so helpful and friendly. They treat her with dignity, respect and kindness. And are very welcoming and helpful to visitors. The ward is clean and cheerful
Very good service today at the acute centre.
They were a clinician down, but the staff were lovely and really helpful.

My autistic daughter fell last weekend and we knew her ankle was broken so she needed treatment. Trafford were amazing and very good with her and kept her calm the whole time we were there. Trafford are a credit to the NHS.

I was a cold with patients on recovery at Trafford General years 2020 21 I like to thank all the doctors and nurses want to help me recover and also all the very best for the year 2022 thank you
Was there 2 weeks ago and seen very close to my appointment time within about 10 minutes. On previous visits to the walk in the wait has generally been reasonable. Staff I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful. Best thing is free parking which I think other hospitals should take note of. All in all generally a decent hospital.
Been using this hospital for years, nothing is too much trouble, staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing but respect for all who work in this Hospital. Keep up the good work.
Came to the emergency department at 10 still waiting for an X-ray results and it’s now nearing 3pm. No one has a clue what they are doing and when the results will be available. Waiting area is freezing cold. Unfriendly staff and kids …
I myself am not the patient of this hospital (thank goodness). My mum however is. Never has she been treated so poorly by staff. They never have time or want to listen to her needs and how she is feeling. They never have a good amount of …
Brilliant hospital always has been. Staff amazing.
Had an endoscopy appointment today and from start to finish, the staff were all amazing. Me being extremely nervous with needles and anything that enters my body, was put at ease instantly. The lady in the procedure room held my hand all …
Took my son to Urgent Care without making an appointment through 111.
Everyone that we dealt with on that afternoon were fantastic especially the doctor. …
If you are looking for antenatal entrance, do not go to entrance 14 (as stated in the letter and text message), it does not exist. You should go to entrance 6 – visitors and staff. It is a short walk through the INSIDE of the hospital from there. Hopefully this should save you some time and confusion! Staff are lovely 😊 …
The team at the endoscopy day case unit, entrance 8 were excellent yesterday ( Sunday). …
Just had an appointment here. Very disappointing. The only people wearing masks properly were the patients!
Only my specialist had his mask on correctly. All other staff I saw had their …
The Orthopedic department is absolutely fantastic, anyone who isn’t impressed should request a transfer to Wythenshawe ! Trafford general is one of the cleanest hospitals in Trafford, (again) if folk don’t agree go look at Wythensawe. …
The staff on Ward 12 (orthopaedics) are excellent. I went in for 11.30am for day surgery on my hand and the only down side was being last of the day (I went into theatre at 6pm). They were so friendly and made the whole operation almost …
My daughter spent 6 hours with myself staying with her on Monday in the walk in centre having various tests before being admitted overnight onto AMU and then referring her for further scans at the MRI. All the doctors and nurses were …
A big thank you to all the staff at the hospital who do an excellent job and work extremely hard.
Genuinely surprised how very efficient my brother in laws appointment went today, we were very early but were seen straightaway.
It was a lovely experience and the staff were very very nice. …
Absolutely disgusted. I was 30 mins early for my appointment. Free parking in the hospital grounds. No ticket needed. Then waited half dressed in a waiting room for 4 hours awaiting my treatment. I can cope with that. It happens. The …
Unbelievably difficult to get through to this hospital as though it doesn’t have anyone available to answer a call. Been trying all day to get through to the radiology department and it rings out all day.
What a great experience today with EVERY member of staff bending over backwards to be helpful. 100%!!!
I’ve been in Ward 12 (Orthopedics) twice and am due to go back a third time soon. The theatre and ward staff were all excellent and very informative about what was happening medically & surgically to me. The food was good and I can’t fault …
What an outstanding example of first class patient care. My girlfriend was admitted with pneumonia and the staff – from reception to Nurses, Auxilliaries and Doctors – were absolutely fantastic. Efficient, kind, attentive and caring. There …
Not true Urgent care centre. Long wait, slow service, unclear information
The A&E unit here is great. I had to take my child here recently after a nasty accident and the staff were brilliant. They were very calm, which in turn kept everybody else nice and calm. They were very friendly and very good with my …
My daughter attends Dermatology appointments here, as the waiting list was lower than Bolton, where we live, and I now understand why. I find the whole set up very unprofessional and chaotic. We have been four times now and each visit is …
My son had a painful inner ear for about a week which eventually required antibiotics. Obviously unable to buy these from the chemist, we needed a doctor to diagnose the problem and prescribe the necessary medicine. Our GP couldn’t give us …

Well done Trafford General and ward 12 👏👏👏👏 …
Had a Colosectomy done, can’t fault the whole experience.
Hygiene is on point!. . . Thank you for your help and care whilst in your care.
My mother’s hip replacement was carried out by Professor Biant. Mum had been waiting with increasing pain and discomfort since July 2017 for the procedure. Communication beforehand was very poor indeed. While she was in hospital most people …
My friend had appendicitis and they kept saying theres nothing wrong with him and then they said try these antibiotics then he went to wythenshawe hospital and they spotted it straight away and by then his appendix had burst and they had to …
The hospital itself and all the staff and departments are wonderful, it is a real gem. But since being part of CMFT and the phone lines being amalgamated the telephone service is shocking, spend over 30 minutes on hold each time just to try …
I’ve been a visitor to this hospital. I’ve been a patient and have had numerous appointments here. The staff are so friendly, helpful and caring. Ive had one or two hiccups, but wouldn’t blame anyone, its life it happens. People are only human. Thank you to you all for a great service.
This is a brilliant hospital. I have recently had cause to use the walk-in centre with follow-up appointments in the orthopaedic dept. Everyone I have met including receptionists eg James, plaster room staff (Rex) and the consultants …
Usually good but took over 3 hours to see a 3 year old child. Then called out her name which was said very low in a busy room and didn’t even sound right. Missed that and had to wait again. They need more staff on a Saturday, absolute joke …
My mother is currently in a ward here, and she and I aren’t overly impressed with the care she is receiving, the communication (or lack of), and still no resolution for one of the issues she went in with.
Very horrible service! I tried to call the number on my letter to confirm the arrangement they gave me but it seemed the number they gave me was a wrong number, and when I called the Hostipal number itself they told me they don’t know the …
I have been in Trafford General several times, it is the best and cleanest hospital in the Manchester area, I have no fears of going in there again this year for yet another operation. The Orthopaedic dept is the very best and the staff are really caring. I cannot praise them enough. Kathryn Erskine.
I recently had a hip replacement at Trafford, I spent nearly three days on the orthopaedic ward, before I returned home. Before my visit to Trafford I was given a lot of negatives about the hospital, however let me reassure any one going …
Awful! Terrible! The staff are uncaring rude ignorant! I am actually shocked that they work in a hospital! My god can do a better job with his eye closed! I have been tried to get through to the children’s department for over 2 hours keep …
I had surgery on a broken leg after an accident. Nursing care was very poor but the surgery was excellent. This seems to be a pattern if you read other comments, surgery and emergency care is good but other services are very poor, especially if you have to stay for any length of time.
Okay, it’s not a place to go for a day out, but if you need to go to the hospital this is a good one. This is where the NHS started, and although quite small it’s very, very good, or at least it has been for me and my family. Friendly …
Cannot thank the staff enough for the care of my mother in law through from admissions to acute medical ward tonight. She has late stage Alzheimer’s disease and everyone, without exception, were kind, caring and amazing with her. Thank you.
Have just received top class service in the emergency department of this hospital
The staff are amazing, could not fault it …
Terrible experience for my wife in pregnancy. Went for 36 week scan to be told there was too much fluid in sac and baby was large abdominal. Was told to come back urgently nxt day because it could be a serious situation but not to worry …
My third visit to the centre on a weekend in 3 years. This time outstanding as newly refurbished. Patient empathetic staff, triaged, seen by Dr and prescription in hand in under 40 mins (Saturday 8.20) well done NHS XXX
Switchboard is really poor. They have no knowledge of dept opening times, so will keep trying to transfer a call for as long as you are willing to hold. Poor use of services when all they need is a grid of times next to phone numbers. I’ve …
Attended colonoscopy suite today. Horrific stimodoscopy, but I want to give a big thanks to the endoscopist Marc Woods and the two nurses Janet Stringer and Steven McGregor. These three clinicians were absolutely brilliant and I can’t thank …
The surgery to pin and the weekly x-rays after-care for an impacted fracture of my right wrist was so good that I have no problems whatsoever three years on. I had meant to write to thank you but never did. Sorry TGH!
Jane Kiel
Can’t thank them enough after my crash, the speed, efficiency and kindness the staff and Dr’s showed me was humbling. Thank you so very very much. Always been a wonderful hospital, even at the worst times in life.
What an amazing hospital. Many thanks to the amu who have been incredible with my partner who was there over the weekend. Nurses are great and tests were all done very quick
Absolutely abysmal. Waited with my child who has been vomiting since last night (14 times) for about three hours where we have been triaged twice and then it was decided that we are next, this next lasted for about an hour or maybe more …
I was recently admitted for a hip replacement and I just want to say a massive thanks to all the staff on ward 12b orthopaedics. …
My experience at the walk in centre was first class. The staff were really nice and very efficient. It’s a shame the NHS is always getting negative publicity when the service offered is this good.
Attended urgent care centre after a fall at work. In pain. Booked in ok staff polite curtious but was so slow getting seen too. Not good at all
visited the urgent care centre i was seen quickly and all the staff was lovely
First time at this hospital- we went to the outpatient respiratory – lovely staff – Maggie and Jeanette – explained things all the time – knew what position in the very small queue and Dr Leahy himself explained everything and free parking
Used the prayer room at Trafford General Hospital. It was very clean and equipped with wudu facilities and a toilet. Prayer mats were in very good condition.
It is located down the main corridor almost opposite ward 1.
Lovely staff, friendly and welcoming, happy and smiley.
Stayed in ward 12b,fantastic care given.
The team in the operating theatre were also first class.
