Write a ReviewMy daughter went to the University and had a wonderful experience there while undertaking her degree in film. I met some of the teachers during an event and those I met were very nice. The site is well laid out. My daughter said she thoroughly enjoyed the years at the Uni and would highly recommend others to go there.
I’m currently studying for my master’s at the University of Derby and I couldn’t be happier with my experience here! The campus is set in beautiful surroundings and has a great variety of food options, including Starbucks, Subway, and other …
Great campus, social space accommodation, with very friendly staff and students. Plenty of shuttle busses around the city.
Overall a really good university. 80% of the history professors were excellent as both professors and had strong teaching skills. Within 3 semesters I was able to transform my E and D grades to B and C grades. They were very committed to …
Ok, completely honest review time.
I’m currently a 40 year old student completing a BSc honnors degree in forensic …
I brought my daughter for her university interview for a adult nursing degree course. We had the best of experience as the university is well organised. There are plenty of parking spaces such Car Park 1 where we parked. My daughter loved …
I truly do not recommend. I moved to Derby for this university and I regret it since. I have tried services, societies, I have volunteered for multiple occasions. I was even a rep on my second year trying to make a difference. Everywhere I …
I was at the Uni to make enquiry as phone calls were not helpful. Kate at reception was very kind in her response. I already felt reassured by the way she attended to me and also offered to help. …
I school at the University of Derby.
Amazing curriculum, smart lecturers and they have put structures and people in place to help your experience…
I really like the Uni. Very modern and awesome quality of facilities. I’ve done Business Management and Marketing stage 1 so far. But the support I was/I’m getting from staff is not as excellent as they claim it is.
Graduated from this University in july of 2022.
the experience overall was really good, the lecturers for the most part were really supportive and easy to communicate with, the support centre and …
teachers are professional but know how to make clasees fun, many degrees to choose from and the atmosphere is always welcoming and very familiar
University of Derby admissions team will frustrate your life. They are so disorganized. They issue you an unconditional offer and after payment of your school fees, they still revoke the admission and take a while before they refund you. …
As an international student I would not recommend this university at all!! I’ve been waiting for my CAS since July and now it’s almost October. My program is about to start and I still have no idea if I’m going to be able to join or not. …
My experience at undergraduate was ok. However, postgraduate was completely different. Lecturers lied about the course at the open evening, I assume to get numbers up. The content of the course was terrible and some of the lectures were …
Well that’s 4 years of driving back and forth 180 miles each way every few months over. Our daughter just finished her Master’s and she’s had a great time at the uni. And as parents we feel the uni have looked after her well.a big thanks to all the staff.
Beautiful building with all the facilities like restaurants, coffee shops, gym and even GP practice. Super friendly and helpful staff and students
Beware of the enrolment process for online course, awful experience I have had with this just to signup to a simple top-up degree. I have never in y career of education experienced this type of Student Services. Awful communication, awful …
Please treat this with the urgency it deserves!!
Derby is a fantastic institution per reviews here. However, most international …

Overall great university campus. I went here for a university open day and were greeted at the kedleston road campus by members of staff who were very friendly and offered us great advice and guidance on how to navigate the campus. It’s …
Very very nice and beautiful environment, and do not worry if u are a new student, there are loads of people on ground to give directions to you on any where you want to go on campus
SIMPLY THE BEST-BETTER THAN ALL THE REST!!!!!
This is a great University with excellent teaching staff, and there is no doubt that if you got admission here you will get a very bright and safe future. …
The university needs to improve on admissions process, probably get additional staff either temporarily for each cycle or permanent. September 2022, Derby gave some students unconditional offers and later started reverting to conditional …
Love the university, facilities are brilliant, with great sports coaches, and helpful staff. I spend most the time at the sports center but do appreciate the library too. There’s a great cafe along with shops.
Fabulous University with a superb range of facilities meeting lots of requirements for various courses. Range of eateries inside and plenty of seating. Ample parking. We attended for an open day but previously our eldest attended and …
Visited various parts of Derby University and was very impressed. A lot of development taking place.
Very modern .The students accommodation area’s well situated and pleasant.Very …
This is such an amazing university, they offer support and guidance from various teams. Staff are inspirational. Courses are well ran with so many opportunities to gain practical experience
Lasted 2 months at this uni and quit because of how terrible i found my course. I was studying Zoology and the lecturers were really snotty. Constantly being patronizing during lectures saying “this is easy so you will be fine doing this”. …
They accept you unconditionally and then do not give you any deadlines about CAS and do not give you a CAS in many cases. Terrible management. Wasting students time and effort.
Trust the bad reviews. I can vouch for everything they say. Save your time and money and go to a real university. Over prescribed courses, not enough seats for all students, they just want your money. Inconsistent teaching, inconsistent marking and absolutely useless feedback. 2 years in and I’ve hated every second of it.
Studied Occupational Therapy. Was in my second year. Found the support from the lecturers to be non existent as they would help the “white” students more than the coloured students, despite asking for help. It’s not that the lecturers …
Poor academic teaching and assessment. I am studying on a perioperative practice degree yet none of the academic staff has recent occupational competence / experience within this clinical practice area. They also provide low assessment score yet do not justify this within their feedback so you cannot improve.
Luke, a first year student showed us around. He was very friendly and knowledgable about the uni and surrounding area. Courtney showed us round the student accommodation at cathedral court. Again she was very informative and advised us on when to apply. A good day
Good, very modern and forward thinking University. My son went here and was taught and looked after by a group of very knowledgeable staff in the Engineering Department. He did very well and received high grades. There is a cafe, shops, restaurant and a student union service area. Parking can be a problem at times however
For the amount you pay i think the actual lecture time (12 hours a week for 24 weeks a year) is very bad value for money. I agree with the person below about work not being anonymous. I feel like one of my teachers does not like me and …
Currently studying towards a BA in PR and advertising. Don’t have any experience of actually being on a degree at a different uni but have been round others at open days and none compare to this one. The main campus allows for easy access …
My program leader Dr. Boris Ceranic was the best but unfortunately the university’s administration and tuition and graduation offices were useless and terrible. They never replied back and whenever they did they were useless.
Just save your money. This university takes 9grand off you a year for you to basically teach yourself. The lecturers are useless and all other departments are pointless as it seems they don’t do anything. They say one thing and don’t act on …
I decided to attend university for a second time after having problems the first time round at a different uni which was a great uni. Anyway I wanted to study fashion and was struggling to get a place anywhere as my qualifications were in …
I thoroughly value my time as an under grad here. Staff of all departments were always there to lend a hand, especially when times got tough. We had all the equipment and space we needed for my Geography degree, as did my partner as a Radiographer. Could not recommend spending three years here highly enough.
University of Derby is a good place to study Further Education. The lecturers are very professional the whole university staff are friendly and welcoming.
The main campus in Derby has many facilities and resources, such as the library, …
Undertaking a healthcare post-grad. WORST UNI EVER!!
Unorganised, make students pay for mistakes lecturers make, cannot uphold any arrangements they make with students. Cannot even remember what year of study …
I’m a proud student of the University of Derby! It’s at an amazing location and the uni provides excellent facilities in terms of transport, library, technology just so that we are comfortable in our student environment! It’s amazing how …
If you are an international student be careful about studying at this University as some of the lecturers and supervisors are not qualified to be supervising. An example of this is a Senior Lecturer in Education did not have a Masters …
It’s a great university and the people there are really nice. Recommended university but shouldn’t be your only option
It’s among the top ten most affordable quality universities in England.
Despite not being high on league ‘rankings’ and considered as an ‘ex-poly’ etc, the University’s teaching is of a expected/better-than-expected standard imo – with most of the lecturers being caring and wanting to enhance student’s …
The University is still able to offer individual tutorials in many subject areas and has small class sizes compared to those offered in many universities. This creates an intimate friendly ambience. …
Very bad . I applied for university of derby online . Bad experience and when i asked for my data to be deleted that gdpr team and the Corporate Information Governance and Assurance manager , very bad experience with them. Stay away from …
Spent three wonderful years undergoing a History course here which began in 2005. Staff repeatedly bent over backwards to provide us with the best experience that they could. Could not have wanted more. The area itself is absolutely …
The reception staff couldn’t have done more to help people get to the right places in a friendly patient manner. Everyone went the extra mile to assist on a busy day made more challenging by the weather conditions.
Awful uni, dont give a toss about the student just as long as you show up so they get their money, thats all they care about same as any other uni, not worth it at all, stay far clear!
World class facilities. Warm and friendly officials. UDERBY is a lovely place to be and to beat.
Overall good experience. Went there to visit and was extremely modern and overall a good looking place with lots of courses
I came here for one day visit with the college I attended a few years ago while I was doing business studies.
I would recommend this for students who are looking for uni.
Just seen the news they like to kick out single mothers from Thier courses
I am not one of the student ,I am one of the student mother and as I see the negative comments which of them are right and proven I am experienced about how the teacher’are treat, these adult students because they’re are adults, already . They are want to oppress these student instead to educate them rightly. Shame on them . 😁 …
Was a student here from 2018/2019. Really supportive staff, positive atmosphere and great resources in the library. Would definitely recommend! 🙂
I had a great time although a long time ago now!! Today I walked the dog nearby and it picked it up!
I visited the sports science type departments here after seeing the staff at Body Power to have an idxa body composition scan done. …
Honestly this last year has been so disappointing. Little student support for my daughter and other students on the policing degree. Would not recommend …
As a student at the University I can highly recommend the quality of the teaching and professionalism of the lecturers. The Child and Youth studies degree is fantastic!
Most courses are engaging and can directly offer you a Job afterwards some are co.pletely pointless and get you nowhere in life
This uni makes things very unclear and the course leader for architecture over complicates everything. …
I have studied at the University of derby since 2009. I really enjoyed the experience here, If you really need help staff are keen to support you. …
No guidence or support regarding coursework and bullying. I even felt like the tutors disliked me completely unprofessional attitudes! They just had a general can’t be bothered vibe.
Beautiful university! The interior design is very cool and fresh 🙂
A fabulous modern building with the perfect balance between learning and social gathering.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Came here for an open day and interview. It’s was amazing. Beautiful place with just am amazing range of facilities and everyone is so friendly and helpful
All the best way to get the best way to get the best way is to provide a range of services, and I will be happier with you than without you, I have a headache mu mouth is dey in the UK, and I will be happier with you than a week, so I can …
Brilliant university to study. Very helpful staff and administration.
No support, poor guidance regarding assignments, no rapport with lecturers, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE… …
Students center take very long time to respond, they are really unhelpful.
Big campus, mainly spreads across the tower blocks. Open space once you walk in with seating idea, food court, shops and study idea.
Worst University ever. Poor communication prior to course. Shockingly bad teaching. Rip off merchants. Don’t waste your time or money
Only picked up my Son but good parking and helpful staff.
Derby is a good place to study
Good memories with this, very intense workload, but the staff are friendly and approachable and would recommend studying here. The night life is limited, but it’s what you make of it and the sort of friends that you make
