Write a ReviewBest Hospital in the South East, the care and attention given by by all medical and support staff. Our family have always had a good overall experience whenever we have been to this hospital. …
My daughter has appointment cancelled for a breast screening because of a lump and they can’t see her with in the two weeks like they are meant to it was four weeks and now at the 11th hour they messaged her to say they have cancelled her …
UTC clearly couldn’t care less about patients and offer a disgustingly woeful service that could easily become dangerous.
Breast team are no better – 3 days in hospital with a baby, separated from …
Arrived at A&E today, booked myself in on the registration screen at 2.00pm. The waiting area was very busy, but surprisingly I was triaged, then see by the doctor who performed a small operation, all within 3 hour. Excellent service and special thank you to all the staff it was a pleasant experience throughout.
What a wonderful hospital after my experience having a mental breakdown and Sezuire. I loved how even when I was violent (don’t remember due to aeful king blackout) that they helped me get back on my feet. Eartherm ward were fantastic and …
It’s an NHS hospital you’re either visiting or a patient. Signs of where to go and even the exits could be better, and I even commented that emergency exits were unclear. Can’t blame the staff for any faults right now they are all working hard for little reward.
Service at hospital can not be faulted but parking is a nightmare. Took my disabled son for an out patient visit, no space in disabled parking, tried 3 trips into paid parking to eventually find a parking. Will have to get out and pay before being able to circle around to main entrance to collect my son.
Waiting time in A&E is incredible long, even that people who came and registered after me were called first… More you waiting more you have to pay for the car park. …
We came here because my partner was in agony with headaches and the GP wouldn’t see him. 111 said to get an ambulance but doing the right thing with how it is at the moment I drove him to the walk in here. We got turned away and told to go …
Reception team are unhelpful and rude. It takes forever for anyone to pick up the phone, I’ve tried to phone 4 days consecutively, multiple times a day just to book a blood test. the system is very flawed
fantastic hospital, happy atmosphere, great nursing staff especially in chanctanbury ward and discharge unit. What a great experience. clean , helpful, professional and so well organised. thank you
Dr. Robinson was exceptional. Specialist advice in dealing with asthma. Glad I was referred to him.
yesterday, i had to go to a and e in worthing hospital after being attacked by a dog. i wasn’t on my seat for 5 minutes before the first nurse came to get me. i remember him emphasising how to breathe and telling me several times that i …
What a lovely, caring hospital. From admission through A&E to discharge later in the evening I experienced the highest standards of care and compassion. Staff were absolutely rushed off their feet, and the department was so busy that …
We are SO lucky to have such great service at Worthing. Very often people moan about waiting for hours in A&E’s. If anyone moans about Worthing, they need to ask themselves how serious their health issue was at the time because I’ve had to …
What is happening with this hospital? Consultant letters taking weeks to get to GPs & patients. Example : Urologist at St Richards, Chichester, dictated letter to GP(copy to my husband) on 13/12/22 (despite being under care of Worthing …
In my recent experience, a truly amazing hospital which should be a model for others. The level of professionalism and sense of an integrated team is profound
The Endoscopy Dept treated my mum Mrs OSullivan so very well yesterday during her colonoscopy..pre and post care too were excellent and this is so reassuring in times of stress. Mr Hussain, Sr Margaret , Nurse Sarah and sweet receptionists all deserve a huge hug.
Go to the area on your paper ask at entrance lady at desk can get coffee ect. Go early to appointment and wear a mask seems to be enter to location fine and ready to see you not on strike .
Thanks for looking after me ,great health professionals mental patients very difficult,
(As ,PTSD,etc. Food great thanks, A&E, second ward and erringham ward, forgive …
Absolutely fantastic. Partner was seen in A&E within a few minutes of arriving. Seen by doctor within the hour and by surgeon in less than two hours. Scans and blood tests done immediately . Admitted and operated on the next morning. …
Car park pay machine not working well, exit from car park was lengthy due to faults and chaotic. Hospital itself is good but car parking makes unwanted stress.
Horrified with many of the issues and observations i witnessed over the 9 weeks my father was in there. My only hope is the feedback our family sent to PALS is taken on board so other people will be safe and looked after in the future. We hope the nursing home will be a safer and more worry free place for his last months.
I recently had a Colonoscopy at Worthing hospital. The whole procedure was managed excellently, the team were friendly and professional and made me comfortable and relaxed. I have nothing but praise and a big thank you to them all.
Having just spent 2.5 weeks at Worthing Hospital I have certainly had some highs and lows.
Highs first of all from Coombes ward …
Perfect. Nursing staff and doctors totally coped with a very busy boxing day A&E. Got me back to breathing properly. Well done guys, most appreciated.
This hospital has certainly improved. I was admitted through A&E whom were exceptional. I was transferred to the Emergency Floor which I would not recommend.
Subsequently I was put on Balcomb Ward and again could not fail. …
Extremely disappointed experience.
My 2 years old was taking by an ambulance to A&E at about 9:45 pm. The waiting room was extremely hot, not aircon. By 11:30 pm I mentioned to a nurse my desire …
Appalling a&e . Dirty and apart from the nice nurses ( although seemingly inexperienced) the staff and doctor had disgraceful bedside manners.
The doctor simply seemed heartless and uncaring and frankly bored. …
I cannot fault the midwives here, they are kind make me feel listened too and cared for! Having some great interactions from them! The doctors on the other hand are dismissive, uncaring and without me pushing for the right care I would have been sent home by now! Expecting mothers trust your gut instinct!!
My father had to spend an evening at worthing hospital after contracting covid and suffering chest pains. It started off okay, he was in a room with one other person and had his blood test done and was waiting for results that he was told …
Just had a 15 day stay in Worthing hospital. Excellent caring staff. Surprised at the good menu. Food always hot. Cleanliness excellent. Toilet flushing buttons in emergency ward very hard to push.
A&E staff work under immense pressure but they have helped me greatly in the past, in fact they pretty much saved my life when I was brought in by ambulance in an almost comatose state due to insulin problem with diabetes. You might have a …
Great hospital, props to the management and all the doctors and nurses and the staff! It’s super clean, everyone if friendly and helpful, very professional, and usually quick and very well-organised. I had to go there with several problems …
Outstanding care and attention for my husband and I, and our son and daughter. Cannot praise enough everybody we came into contact with last week when my husband had a massive brain bleed (CVA) and tragically passed away. Thank you so very much wonderful Worthing Hospital.

Just left after a few days in the care of Chiltington Ward after Mr Colucci’s team performed a perfectly planned and executed operation top drawer. The aftercare team of Cat / Georgia / Jane and their ongoing teams looked after me so well. Thanks guys cant thank you enough
Spent three weeks in Worthing hospital on three wards, Coombes, Chiltington and Chanctonbury. I cannot praise the staff enough! They were caring ,efficient, friendly and could not do enough for me during my stay.
It’s a great hospital. Runs smoothly nearly every time. Which is an impressive thing for any hospital, in my opinion . Friendly staff who are good at their job and enjoy working there.
Spent a couple of hours there this afternoon after cracking my head open. Treated very well & quickly, triage nurse was lovely. Nurse practitioner absolutely fantastic & didn’t feel any of the sutures. Thank you as appreciate all the stress & pressure you are all under especially now but still managed to treat me with care & compassion ☺
I visited A&E today. It was very busy. However I was impressed that my tests were done quite quickly. Admittedly there were problems with finding somewhere for patients to sit. …
Went here for the first time a few days ago and it was my first time going to a hospital since covid. The triage lady who saw me was really lovely and understanding when I got worked up about all the changes and not having my partner with …
In January I had a blood test to see if I have a hereditary heart condition that my mother and several members of my maternal family have/had. 3 months later I still have no results. You’re initially told 4-6 weeks, why say this if it’s more like months!!
The care I received from the staff on Downlands Suite was exceptional. Regardless of job role each and every member of staff was a credit to the NHS. I was treated with dignity and felt so cared for. …
Attended A&E last night, the receptionist was incredibly dismissive, unhelpful and treated everyone who came through the door with an air of annoyance and as if they were a huge inconvenience to her. …
My care was second to none.
I was admitted into the Ambulatory Care Ward from a referral by my GP. Whilst waiting to be admitted my wife and I were offered a cup of tea and a biscuit, nice touch. Once admitted the care I received was first rate. ALL the staff were …
Huge shout out to the lovely lady on the main reception this afternoon (Sun 6-6-21) & the team on Clapham ward. Their collective compassion enabled me to visit my elderly neighbour who was rushed in to hospital a week ago & has had no …
A huge thank you to the paramedic and ambulance crew who arrived very quickly in the middle of Sunday night – the care received was fantastic! On arrival at Worthing hospital the excellent care continued. The doctors and all A&E nursing …
Great aftercare from the vascular team for my dad’s foot. Caring staff, great bedside manner and really go the extra mile. Thanks Maria and Bryony in vascular 🙂
Just spent 4days in the cardiology ward and the help a kindness from every member of staff was exemplary. So very friendly and caring.
Stayed in bluefin ward and everyone was very nice and caring
The nurses & doctors are all excellent. They’re incredibly kind & thorough in their investigations. If you need to go to A&E, Worthing Hospital’s one is the best in Sussex. The Outpatients Department is excellent, & they’ve never run late when I’ve had an appointment. The hospital is all in all excellent across all departments.
Understandably there was a lengthy waiting time due to an influx of patients in A&E, once seen was given very good support and treatment
Having used the hospital for my maternity care and also unfortunately having to be in for a few days on Bluefin ward, I felt I needed to write a review because the care both myself and my family received during this time was brilliant. No …
Disgustingly dirty. Mold in toilets and a bowl full of urine sitting on top of the bins in the bathroom. Never been so disgusted in my life! Staff are rude and leave patience (older aged) who can’t get up to the toilet shouting for help for …
A great hospital. Amazing emergency staff, not felt so cared for in a long time!
Today we met a trainee nurse who was on her first day. She told is how lucky we …
I went there in February and the receptionist at A&E told me to go home and stop making bad use of public resources. I had lost my voice and had to beg to be seen. Got seen by a nurse for an initial consultation and had to beg via text …
I had a phone call about 4 weeks ago from a Doctor (I forget his name) saying they were doing a review of my husbands Rev Douglas Graham death in April this year, in the Hospital. I have heard a word from him or anyone else since, so …
On 28/12/2019 – The ambulance came within minutes and took me to the A&E. It was very busy. Me and my family would like to Thanks the amazing Paramedic, Doctors and Nursing staff were Wonderful, Kind, Caring and Professional. I can’t …
Waiting time was nine hours in a&e, but because of my illness I was out in three hours. Staff obviously very overworked but still extremely polite and helpful.
Had trouble with my hearing. So they did a hearing test and looked at my hearing aids then had to see the doctor I was told I would need hearing aids. So I told him I wear them now. I have lost faith in this hospital
Visited the hospital for use of A and E for my daughter. Although there was a wait the staff were polite and helpful. The doctor who treated my young daughter, Dan, was very professional even through a busy period.
As a few people before me have mentioned, its a great hospital staffed by caring professional staff. The car park, like many other hospital carparks is a let down. Its too expensive for what it is and clearly not enough, a large chunk is …
The hospital staff were exceptionally caring when I was admitted following a heart attack last September. I was kept informed of what was happening at every stage. I have been attending the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme since then: it’s excellent, well done to all concerned!
Great hospital and staff – we are lucky to have such a superb facility in Worthing. They saved my life and I will be forever indebted to them and the wonderful care I, and my relatives, received. …

Was denied help from a mental health nurse, despite mentioning to them I have experienced suicidal thoughts and thoughts of hurting myself. I was told that a&e was ‘urgent care’ and because I had driven myself into the hospital I was not a …
The hospital itself is fine, I have had no bad experiences here. My three star rating is based purely on the issue of parking. It is too expensive and there is not enough of it. Frequently I have had to drive round and round for ages …
Unacceptable to see staff (nurses, porters and ambulance crew) smoking in uniform. Not exactly good for health promotion. Patients shouldn’t have to pass through clouds of smoke to visit the hospital.
Following being taken ill with an infection, I was admitted to Worthing Hospital for a week recently and had a thoroughly positive experience. The staff were professional and courteous, the food was good and the treatment worked well, and …
My son was admitted to the Bluefin ward a few weeks back for complications with his severe eczema. I have to say that the level of care offered by all was of the highest standard with no request too much trouble. The ward was meticulously …
My brother, Arthur Clarke recently spent over 2weeks on Balcombe ward and he asked me to thank all the staff for the lovely caring treatment he received. They kept him cheerful through a very difficult time. My only critism is that the different departments don’t seem to liaise, causing unnecessary delays and problems?
