Write a ReviewAlways a pleasure to travel EMR. Staff just brilliant. I often upgrade to first coz it’s an absolute pleasure. Hats off to the amazing 1st class Crewe of the 1532 to Sheffield 25/4/23 and their colleagues on other services from London to derby who I meet every now and then. Keep going and keep having fun.
Advance tickets could be changed for free in the past. Now, to squeeze even more money out of consumers, they charge a £10 admin fee even when the changes are made online or via their app both of which are very glitchy.
Short train and 25mins late as per normal. To be fair at £120 return for a 58min journey on Europe’s dirtiest trains at least it’s a bargain.

Can’t think of one reason why the air conditioning has to be full on cold when it’s 17 degrees Celsius outside. Everybody had their hoodies on and zipped up jackets. I have a headache and had to buy a cup of coffee when getting off to warm up. It’s ridiculous and also a health hazard

Never had issues with my travel on train, cheaper than bus and amazing when can complete it all online only thing is finding which train goes where can be confusing especially when new to train lines and services
Sheffield to Derby 23d April – grubby and ancient carriages. 5 carriages instead of 10. Crackly and indecipherable tannoy announcements. You have to feel sorry for the people who work here. Traumatic experience. Luckily train manager helped after being told by the guard I was “holding up the train” as I had to disembark to find the manager several carriages down and the aisles were all blocked internally.

East Midlands Trains are extremely overpriced, all the time. The most overpriced rail operator I have experience of. They make using trains prohibitively expensive.
Like most trains theyre often late and overpriced – the most infuriating thing is you pay more for peak times when youre less likely to get a seat !
At best acceptable service, with a wesite that is about as intuitive as trying to cook a Sunday roast over a toaster.
