Just spoke with the receptionist in the xray dept . What a really lovely lady very kind and understanding. She went above and beyond for me. So much appreciated thank you what a diamond. Treatment like this restores faith.
Thank you so sorry I didn’t get your name
Went to a&e yesterday. Told by doctor about 10hour wait. Only took 3 hrs to be seen, exray and medication and crutches given. Staff lovley. Even got me a cup of tea while waiting for left. So imoressed and gratefull.
Incredible experience at Hemel A&E. Mel was amazing. I am really grateful for the help received. Thank you Mel and all the other ladies that assisted.
I want to share this review as I was petrified of blood tests. I can’t say how happy I am with them. They were awesome! Thank you! 😊 …
Arrived 10 minutes early for my xray, they saw me straight away. Was out in 5 minutes. All staff were really helpful and kind. Really pleased.
I had an MRI today. The appointment was on time. Staff were friendly, helpful, polite & caring the whole time I was there.
I took a family member for a Chest X-Ray last week. The service was phenomenal. The staff were kind and supportive and the whole process took leas than 10 minutes. I didn’t even have time to sit down. Go NHS!
Was waiting in the waiting room to be seen by a GP with my husband and a Receptionist named Sharleen was very rude as she yelled across the waiting room for my husband to leave because I couldn’t have someone with me, he explained how he …
Exceptional care from the staff but the site is very spread out on a hill making it very challenging for patients with mobility issues.
Blood Clinic: Thank you so much to KS in the pathology dept for taking such great care of my daughter when having bloods today. I can’t tell you how much we appreciated your kindness and patience. Plus the lady in the reception, who when told my daughter was needle phobic, ensured we were placed with someone so caring.
found the doctors and nurses very very efficient and professional, I am being well looked after and having lots of tests on my lungs. Well done to all the staff who are looking after me
Been here a few times for scans and X-rays.
Parking is available but you need to wait sometimes. It was free when I went. …
Radiology 30 March 2022. I have a trapped nerve in my neck and it made lying with my head only supported with soft pillows impossible. The two staff were superb and came up with a solution using the head brace. They were very professional and compassionate. Thank you so much.
I have been there with my daughter with a 40° fever and the nurse said we need to go home or to a different hospital because they will close in one hour and they are tired, she said that. …
Used the endoscopy unit, 1st class service, thank you NHS
Very busy this morning, said waiting times 2 to 3 hours, my wife was seen within an hour, x-rayed and treated, within 2 hours, and a big thank you to all the staff including reception our experience was excellent, and a big thank you
Parking can be a struggle, but this is the same for all hospitals I have visited (Watford and St Albans). And it’s pay and display. Always clean – as you’d expect. Always friendly staff – as you come to expect 🙂 make sure you do arrive at the correct car park, otherwise it can be a bit of a walk to the department you want to get to.
Just been for my second COVID19 vaccination at Hemel Hempstead Hospital. A very well-run operation with lots of volunteers on hand to direct you to free car parking and guide you in the correct direction. The medical staff are friendly and …
The worst organisation of an urgent care centre blatently allowing unqualified ignorant staff to run a cartel of who goes next. When arriving the wait to see the one Doctor on duty was 1 hour. Due to agism, skin colour, and any other …
This year I’ve had two procedures at the hospital and the staff were so lovely and knowledgeable, they all made me feel very relaxed. Both procedures went smoothly and I didn’t have to wait long for the appointments, nor when I was waiting …
Visited today for an x-ray the hospital grounds are horribly run down and the signage is very poor walked past the place at first. Inside radiology was clean and bright and the staff were pleasant shame the outside looks so bad
Been there for the first time with a broken bone and everything went very smoothly. Especially since it’s pandemic now, but the feeling in the waiting area was calm and safe. Was taken into care super fast and the nurse was very attentive.
Quick and easy. Polite and friendly staff.
I phoned and the receptionist answered efficiently. Tried to leave message for Chaperone dept,

I don’t live in Hemel Hempstead, but it was easy to find the hospital. The staff were friendly and helpful. My appointment was on time.
Colonoscopy yesterday…….wonderful treatment all round
Would like to highlight that the tariff for parking you find online is completely out of date. Stated £2 upto 1 hour where infact it was £3.50.
The worst experience ever!
Even a star is too much for the way I was treated!
Very disappointed from their arrogance and manner! …
What a fantastic experience I had today in the Endoscopy department. So kind, considerate and professional. Thank you so much for looking after me today. It really was such a positive experience. I cannot thank you enough.
Underfunded and in need of a massive refurbishment and upgrade, including a 24 hour A&E service, to enable the staff to cope with the huge volume of work and patient needs. This excellent hospital must be promoted so it can handle all the …
This is a great hospital, always treated well and with kindness. Endiscopy department fantastic and also pathology.
Shame the services are reduced we still need a full operational hospital in Hemel.
So quick to be seen and treated
Staff are nice also
Attended x-ray dept. Was seen immediately on arrival. All staff friendly and helpful. Found parking space with no problem. Overall good experience
I advise anyone using a bank card to pay for parking be careful. Double check your statement. I was at the hospital on the 15th of January and I used my card so today 21st January while i went through my statement I noticed £3.40 and £4.20 …

First ever visit to this hospital. Thank you to the nurses in the outpaitents department (Base 2). I was an hour late for my son’s appointment (due ro traffic) today but the nurses were so helpful and even made sure I didn’t get a parking ticket when I had to wait a little longer than expected!
I attended the urgent care centre early this morning. We were greeted by pleasant receptionists and seen within 15 minutes of arrival and treated with great care and attention. Excellent service, thank you!
Disgusting attitude towards patient made us wait 4 hours couldn’t sit longer cause of back pain didn’t do anything instead asked you leave if wants to.

Myself and my pregnant wife have recently visited Hemel hospital for a scan and …
Very rude old school Dr who was of very little help told me she didn’t understand why I was there. Told me she couldn’t read an xray. Only positive was I had an xray negative being I will have to wait for it to be read.
Dermatology clinic good experience……FF clinic, refured for light treatment nurse Carol was brilliant and knew what she was doing.
Efficient and the staff are friendly. They are suitably keen to get people in and out and have very little seating (if at all) in Haematology. Arrow systems for walking through corridors to ensure compliance for Covid and social distancing.
I have been to Hemel Hempstead fracture clinic few times with my son who had a broken arm .The staff were friendly and professional , we have been always seen on time. The Hospital is old but inside clean. I had a good experience overall.
I was there yesterday 4/9/21

I visited this hospital a week ago, extremely unwell. I was left burning up and vomiting in a room with no support and told to be quiet by nurses and doctors. Staff were extremely rude and non caring, toilets were disgusting. This hospital should be shut down.
Waiting to pick up a patient I was told to be there at 1:45 I waited to 2:15 four times I contacted them to say I was waiting outside they do not have a clue absolutely useless at the end endoscopic department. They don’t have a clue about the patients that are in there and the waiting is absolutely atrocious
Took a colleague to the urgent care unit yesterday at 3pm after an accident at work. …
West herts trust is shutting down this hospital. Service is not better however at Watford. Everything is collapsed, and that’s because the lack of money. Each time I go any service, I can spot plenty of inefficiencies!! One of the most infamous trust across the UK
We went there for a couple of times to check baby skin problem, but everytime we get nothing from that, the doctors always said they were not sure what’s this problem, but still let us go to check again and again. …
I have been this morning at the hospital. I arrived at 11,10 to level 2 and I had appointment at 11,30. I asked the lady that was in reception and she my be doesn’t like the foreign ( I lived in uk from 4 years and never ask some benefit) …
Just had an appointment at Hemel Hempstead Hospital in their Physiotherapy Department (2:50pm on 21st May) It was on time and the lady who looked after me was excellent. Very helpful and encouraging.
The ladies in ultrasound department are amazing! They truly are incredible! Friendly and professional!
Worse hospital ever ..specially the 2 behind the desk
Rude staff, endless waiting time without any feedbacks or info
Staff are amazing, waiting times are awful. Car parking prices are way too high £6 for 3 hours! Especially when you are a regular vistor and when you have to wait for hours to be seen
Administration is absolutely useless, called up on 13/07/2021 16:30 to ask about walk in vaccination:
“sorry we know nothing about this”, …
Great staff. Over worked and under appreciated. Always professional.
Hemel deserves a fully funded hospital due to its population size.
Hospital has been seriously run down in last decade. Some people excellent out-patient clinicsbut others so-so. Can be a problem parking!
Worst hospital rude staff tell u 4 hours wait and make u wait 7 hours absolutely rubbish
Had a minor emergency and went out of hours arrived at 8:15pm seen at 8:30 daughter all sorted perfect care and attention can’t complain at all

Even rating it one star is undeserving – be calling re appointment I’m due for – phone the dept to locate it so when I turn up I’m able to find it easily, no answer – phoned main reception again no answer Absolutely ridiculous
Blood test, x ray and MRI scans departments all very good and nice staff.
Physio department is not as good.
Bit of a rabbit Warren, but was not really a problem to find department needed.
Simply amazing. Staff saw my son really quickly and gave the best care we could ask for.
After hours waiting we’ve been sent to Watford Hospital.
Wouldn’t really call it a hospital every thing has been taken away
Antenatal clinic never answer the phone when trying to get through.
Went for a blood test. In and out under 8 minutes.
