Write a ReviewThe hospital itself is great and the staff excellent. The biggest issue is parking. All wards visiting is at the same block of 2 hours so the limited amount of space is highlighted dramatically. I won’t complain about the cost because it is comparable to council run car parks. It’s just too small!!
I had to go to A&E today. The whole process was brilliant, especially with the new assessment place. I was seen and sorted within 4 hours & my area of concern was a specialist area. The surgeon who treated me was very polite, compassionate …
I went to book into A & E and was assessed by a paramedic. I was then taken to SDEC where tests were carried out, medication reviewed and referral made to GP and hospital consultant. I was there about 4 hours but 2 of those i was waiting …

The staff are great, but the service is appalling. There is an extreme wait time for literally everything and as nice as the staff are you don’t feel like your health is in good hands due to the lack of resources. I wish I could say this …
Disgraceful service and behaviour from the staff members every single time when you get there! Let’s not discuss the waiting time which starts from 4 hours… The lack of professionalism of the staff which are passing you from a door to …
My 10 Yr old daughter recently had an MRI at NGH and the staff were excellent. The process was well explained and the team provided reassurance during a process that sppk adults. Many thanks DP.

Nothing related with medical staff from the hospital but with security from the hospital. My kid was very dizzy couldn’t walk and I drop my wife and kid near the A&E and some idiot came runing and shouting you can’t stop here look look you …
The most horrible hospital that I was in my life. From the luck of space l, to the incompetence of a lot of the doctor’s and nurses. Plus the long hours that you have to stay until someone is actually looking at you.
Shame on NHS!!! And you are asking for a raise of salary???
Awful experience at the new not so great paediatric emergency department.
Must say Gemma working the night shift on. 27.01.23 was most rude as was Katie. …
Pathetic paediatric emergency service including staff in it. We waited until morning to be seen by ENT, and nurses were just happy to not to call ENT to come and see my child. Very rude and stubborn staff. Absolute lack of sympathy and empathy. I hope I don’t need to go there. Terrible, horrendous and useless.
Appalling hospital, if you can get to Kettering, go there! The treatment, judgement and discrimination I have received over many years is disgusting. I know the treatment you will receive depends on who you see, and sometimes its better …
Great hospital however the staff here is to only to take their salaries from tax payers. They know nothing and is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Rudeness to the core. Need a reality check on where they get their salary
My elderly mother has been admitted through A&E approximately 6 times already this year due to her declining health. The cleanliness in A&E is appalling. I have witnessed patients coming out of cubicles and new patients (my mother included) …

X- Ray. Excellent service. Julia who works in this department was very caring and informative. She is an absolute credit to the radiology department remaining so professional in such a pressured environment. Thank you.
Beware! Some of the staff are guaranteed to give you less than the care you deserve, others are lovely. But once you’re in, you don’t have much choice if you get the former. Choose another hospital for your care, if you can.
Disgusting hospital! Dirty , lack of care.
No care and attention for the elderly.
Constantly lying about how patients are. …

My husband has been going to see Mr Tomlinson for about 5 years in Neurology department Mr Tomlinson is very professional friendly always takes time with my husband in his busy clinic on Tuesdays we want to say thankyou to him
The 1 star is for the nurses only, as for my treatment by a Gynaecologist and co with their procedures done on me without pain relief was disgraceful and I never want to ever go there again.
Excellent service, by all the doctors, nurses & all the staff members that works for the NHS. High time, people stop mourning & complaining about NHS services, for the tax that we pay & the service that we receive is beyond words.I will …

I have been in this hospital since last Friday and I am appalled by the food I am expected to eat. Fry sandwiches -ham, cheese and than that are totally unappetising with little or no flavour. Today was given a curry that was at least …
I made my MP Mr Ellis aware on the 4 May and the NGH CEO on the 10 May that from the 23 April instruments and telephone used to assess possibly infected patients in the covid reception pod 2 at the NGH were not cleaned after each patient, …
Francis the asthma nurse is amazing. Treated my wife very well. I cant say enough good things about her. The hospital made sure my wife was very comfortable. We were well looked after.
Visited the pre op assessment unit, Nurse Jackie was amazing and went above and beyond to make me feel more relaxed. I was frightened and the nurses including Jackie were so lovely and explained what tests they were going to do, and how …
Absolutely shocking treatment from staff in A&E. I had an emergency situation and was sent to A&E from 111 and from GP. The lady on the A&E entrance desk spoke to me like dirt and was sarcastic, obviously finding my situation funny. Turned …
I recently had knee replacement surgery. Mr mundy was the surgeon, all his theatre staff and those on Compton ward was absolutely brilliant, they made the stay relaxing and wel cared for and would join in with the banter of the patients whilst still remaining professional. My thanks to you all
I’ve only lived in Northampton for a year, and I’ve never visited this hospital before. Add to that an unappealing examination and it’s safe to say that I was a little on the nervous side! Everyone there was great. Really nice and took the …
Waited in a&e for 14 hours before I was even seen and then was sat in a chair for the remaining time! The consultant who saw me for my stomach ulcers/booking me in for my endoscopy was so rude! He didn’t care or have any empathy! I have …
While the hospital has undergone cosmetic improvements I feel the A&E department is one of the worst and most unorganised departments in the hospital by far. You have to queue outside while they assess and check each patient one at a time …
This place is terrible when concerning peoples health. Directed via 111 to go to A+E waited 4 hours which I have no problem with but when your taken into a room given a pill and told your fixed without examination and not checking what meds …

I had pain after a car crash and they didn’t help me. They said it would just go away. You british doctors are no help. This is why America is better. Our doctors actually help us. I had to treat myself with ice packs.

If you are a junior doctor aviod this hospital like a plaque.
Rude consultants competing on who can intimidate junior doctors the most.
Absolutely awful. I suffered an unfortunate miscarriage I was sent to A&E at night only to then be sent home and told the gynaecologist would call me first thing … I received nothing and I was being thrown from pillow to post in an …

This rating applies to the oncology consultant I am currently lumbered with, a chemo nurse and a breast care nurse. I cannot trust them and have been subjected to coercive tactics as they wanted to push me into a treatment plan I was far …
Myself and my partner were called by my stepdaughter’s school to Northampton general, upon arrival we went to a&e reception area to enquire about our daughter and was greeted by what I consider to be a very rude and abrupt man at the desk . …
I had an operation today and just been discharged. I spent two nights in the hospital and couldn’t have been looked after any better. The staff were all superheroes to me and made me feel comfortable and eased my nerves and pain. …
Discharged yesterday from Spencer Ward, Northampton General hospital. Had a hysterectomy and was discharged last night. I had amazing care from every single member of staff. I felt very cared for and treated so well. 😊😊 …

My friend was taken in to NGH with Gall Bladder problems. The consultant, Clare Brown recognised the severity of the case and insisted on following investigations until the problem was resolved. Her tenacity and kindness resulted in my dear …
I just thought I had to put pen to paper.
I was taken by Ambulance in to NGH on 21st March, Sunday morning around 08-30.
Fantastic service, very caring. …
Recently spent a week on the new assessment ward and wasn’t very impressed. The facilities are amazing and I have no complaints there. However the care and attention was pretty poor to say the least. As I was in a side ward and no visitors …
98 year old left in the care of A&E was later found on the floor during handover after a fall from a bed.
Atrocious level of care. Left in A&E for 2 days then transferred to a corridor to wait for a bed. After 5 hours, asked for canular to be removed to go home and they just removed it and allowed him to leave with no after care advice for 3 broken ribs. No assistance offered to move to the loo. Water jug left out of reach. Very worrying.
Well what can I say…The parking is horrendous it’s all very well and good putting in a Costa,Marks and Spencer’s,a Subway what about sorting your parking out…
I left home at 08:30 am for a 10:30 am appointment parked in Car park 2 didn’t …

Got to say please, please, please always have change for the parking meters! ( £1.10 for an hour) I got there with no change thinking it would be contactless with the covid and yes I didn’t pay, since I knew I’d be late for my appointment. …
brilliant care, amazing doctors and nurses , were extremely helpful and attentive
I’ve only been here a few times, but the staff members I have come across have all been very helpful, professional and friendly. The signage could be better but other than that, no complaints from me so far! (though I always see the car …

My wife was sent the general by a GP who said oral antibiotics wouldn’t be the right treatment on there own.
Only to be seen by a nurse practitioner and given oral antibiotics!! What’s that all about, just not the care anymore.
I have been a patient with the Eye Department for three years, from the first visit establishing the treatment required through to 2021 the service from all of the team has been excellent. All of the staff work as a coherent team bringing professionalism and calmness to those who need to visit. Thank you to all, Barrie Goulding
This review is for Urgent care ( next to the A&E)
From 16:00 to 17:30 all go to a room and start chatting and joking , so loud all of us in the waiting room look to each other in de believe The number of people …
I had previously written a scathing review because of a missed appointment due to a lack of parking spaces. I arrived by ambulance this time, so parking wasn’t an issue. The staff are amazing, and working under huge amounts of pressure. Please don’t have a go at them about delays or a lack of beds, that’s beyond their control.
My partner took me to NGH one Sunday in September in a lot of pain and distress. I had developed a personal problem and needed some sort of treatment for the horrendous pain. I was also anxious to be diagnosed as I had never suffered …
Had to spend a week here. It felt like a 5 star hotel experience ! The staff were super friendly and caring and my doctor tricked me into staying until I was fully healed as I would try to run back to work every day. Complete recovery with a smile. Clean, quiet, great facilities and a beautiful little garden in the centre of it all.
Went to A&E after heavy mountain bike crash, dealt with quickly and efficiently including 2 xrays. Couldn’t fault them at all.
My daughter attended A & E and subsequently paediatrics with her 13 month old daughter. She was there 12 hours and during that time was not offered any drink or food either for herself or her baby. She was not able to access a toilet all day. A little more thought by staff is needed.
Today I had an infected, impacted wisdom tooth removed. I can not praise the staff enough for my treatment. They were all fantastic. Caring, kind, helpful, considerate and nothing was too much trouble for them. They settled my nerves …

Brought a close friend in for surgery on April 1st at 08.30. She was moved around the hospital…records showed her symptoms and the necessary operation. She had to sit in a chair until she was found a bed before midnight.
I thought I had sprained my ankle on 26/10/18. Went to A&E on the 28/10/18 as swelling hadn’t gone down much and I thought I had better get it checked. Staff were awesome and it turned out I had broken my ankle. …
