Write a ReviewWaiting times are absolutely horrific 12 and a half hours to be seen in A&E. However, remove the waiting times out of the equation and you’ll find yourself getting treated in one of the best hospitals going. The staff are amazing I got …
This hospital told me more about my health than my own GP has. I want to thank every single Dr and nurse. If it wasn’t for them I’d be in my coffin now. You are all doing an amazing job. 5 stars all around.
I Attended the fracture Clinic today and I received a 1st class service. I was seen on time by the consultant , the outcome was positive. All the staff were very kind and considerate. We are so so lucky to have the NHS – thank you to all …
I admitted myself as an emergency on the presumption there would be no ambulances. Parked up and walked in to A&E spoke to reception and within 1hr I was seen by a Dr, had an Xray and given meds. Had to wait 7hrs before being Admitted to …
I’d like to thank Mr Sheredei and his team for there excellent care when attending a gall bladder removal operation. I think myself very lucky being able to have my operation within 5 months of being diagnosed especially in the present …
On June 4th I was brought to pinderfields hospital for chest pain, lower abdominal pain, vomiting, hot and cold sweat . They did a chest xray and checked my blood and the results came back normal, so they gave me morphine and anti sickness …
On this occasion I’m left feeling let down. Came to childrens A+E by ambulance after my son randomly passed out, every parents worse nightmare especially as nothing like this had ever happened before. Took an hour and a half upon arrival to …
Can’t fault this hospital. Yes it’s busy as it caters for alot of areas but it’s very good. Had both my babies here both C sections no problems and today visited A&E and was there 3hrs and it was extremely busy but was in and out. People …
Absolute shambles of a A&E department. Waiting times are over 6 hours and the staff don’t have a clue what’s going on. The seating area is TERRIBLE, so if you do have to go, bring plenty of pillows. HIGHLY understaffed and 90% incompetent staff. Receptionist was lovely though.
I spent 25 hours in A & E, waiting for a bed on the acute assessment unit recently. My journey started with a phone call to the 111 service. Within 2 hours, l had been assessed, treated by para medics, and was on my way by ambulance to …
Nice modern hospital clean and great people the only thing I would say is Disabled park is limited outside the hospital but at times closed and car park used for mobile ct scanner, they don’t care for the disabled person who can not walk a distance and if the disabled drive has no one to help.
Found staff on ward 44 very helpful and friendly and their patience with people surpasses all only thing is once you’ v seen a dr and you need one during the night and you ask to see one no one comes I had catheter fitted and knew I had …
My husband is on Gate 12 and I have been trying to get through to them to speak to them about his care. What an absolute disgrace I have been ringing and ringing and not once have they answered my husband suffers with copd heart failure and …

I went for a consultation regarding an issue with a ganglion on my left hand, from being booked in at reception to actually leaving the hospital was a lovely experience as I was kept informed if there would be any delays etc. My consultant …
Unfortunately what I saw yesterday on ward 32 has really upset me .coming from a nursing/caring background what has happened to basic care .
In visiting a relative she became agitated ( did find out she had not had any of …
Giving birth in this hospital was the most traumatic experience I have ever thought I will have. They left me 40.5h in labour and just told me to sleep! Because that’s possible when your in labour. I was in active labour all by myself until …
Terrible always wating rude snobby staff odd few staff are very polite and helpful staff stood about doing nothing. I know there over worked but when someone is in pain you get the some medication and been in a wheel chair for 6+ hours is …
Left waiting hours, Not as long as this poor elderly gentleman who was left in A/E 14 hours waiting for a bed, sat in a chair. Nurses response when I question them, (Thats just how it is), no care show at all. Told there was a four hour wait , got to 6 hours then told another four. Terrible care.
Pinderfields leaves a LOT to be desired for especially for deaf patients in A&E. …
My Grandparents have been admitted to Pinderfields on several occasions and there hasn’t been one occasion where they haven’t lost personal possessions. They’ve lost several outfits of clothing, hearing aids and false teeth. You name it, …
I understand waiting times in the NHS are bad, and this is not the hospital’s fault so can’t mark down on this! The reason for my bad review, the three million smokers lingering around the hospital entrance not being challenged or moved on! As an asthmatic can you imagine having no option but to walk through that??
Clean but the service is shocking chasing discharge notes weeks after being told to discuss issues with doctors. Miss the target times by over double and then follow up is none existent.
Best staff with extreme care. I been admited in gate 29. Burn department. All drs, nurses and physio are extremly gentle and best of their professional. 10/10 for theor care and concern for burn patients. …
Accessible parking currently is rubbish, two mri sca units on disabled carpark closest to entrance leaving it unusable. Drop off & wheelchairs are currently a nightmare!
My 93yr old mother went in started in a&e then went to ward 41. I visited first couple of days then got there on 3rd day to be told she has been moved to ward 42 which has no visiting because of COVID which my mother as not had because I’ve …
Atrocious from start to finish. Next to no communication or continuity between staff. Moved to a cubicle with 4 other patients where staff came and discussed their conditions with absolutely NO confidentiality at all. Had to chase up x-ray …
For me, doctors just drink tea and don’t work at all, emergency area is really not emergency waited for more than 6 hours very slow. We waited for nurse, after that for doctor and after that for one more doctor. Some people left before us …
I attended A&E in the early hours of a Sunday morning with a very bad dislocated and broken foot, all the staff from getting into the ambulance, getting through A&E to having surgery then up to a ward and an overnight stay, we’re amazing, I …
Have just spoken with the rudest most abrupt lady who answered the audiology line at pinderfields hospital. Hopefully the hospital will have recorded the call and send her for training in how to engage better with patients.
Absolutely disgusting how thay treat you my 85 year old dad with chronic COPD sat A&E 10 hour had a biscuit cup tea did Xray was having to be admitted then said still waiting for a bed theres one at dewsbury we didn’t want him to go there …
It’s a good sized hospital, covering most conditions (although no Pain Clinic, that’s in Pontefract). Recently rebuilt, Pinderfields is now the only hospital in Wakefield since Clayton hospital closed down 2 or 3 years ago. I was very ill …
Had to visit for an emergency knee op. Everyone from pre-op and surgery on Gate 40, recovery room staff and all of the nurses, physios and hospitality staff on Gate 38 were amazing and truly made my visit as smooth as possible. If Pinderfields is ever a choice for your next referral, I would advise going here
I totally understand how busy NHS is, but come on how do you get to speak to any medical staff. My son has been admitted and I live in Somerset I’ve been trying for two days…. DISGUSTING
Disgraceful, racist staff in a&e reception. I have been waiting to see doctor or assessment over 5 hours no one has seen. I have got severe pain, temperature asked for paracetamol she just refused to give. My health got worst thanks to …
Absolute disgraceful, a place whats meant to look after and care for patients, should close pinderfields down right now!! Total neglect to many patients! You go here and you get worse and they do not care about how you are feeling. …
Lost the use of my left hand. GP suspected a stroke and sent me to Pinderfields A&E. Was initially horrified at how many people were sat waiting. Actually called quicker than expected. Doctor sent me for CT scan, which was done immediately, …
The ENT doctor was terrible, he was Asian Indian and extremely rude/arrogant. Probably a fake doctor who has bribed his way into the medical profession on a temporary visa. He is truly a disgraceful & pathetic individual whose advice I do …
Good hospital but service could do with improvement. Parking is expensive. Big prayer room on Level D Gate 35.
I was admitted onto ward 34 late Friday the 9/9/22 after my full hysterectomy for stage 1 cancer. All nurses looking after me including the Dr’s were all lovely. I follow a Gluten free diet and there was a few different options which I …
The potential of this hospital has gone downhill massively. Staff are overworked, over stressed and the rules and regulations in place tie their hands from being able to make more of a difference.
Radiology receptionist too busy talking and forgot to book me in.. Waited in an empty room then 6 other people came in individually and got seen to before me and then I approached the receptionist at xrays who obviously didn’t bother to check me in properly..
Shear incompetence with the staff, my mum was there for 12 days and she has terminal cancer, and left the hospital still in the night gown from the hospital and her positions missing. And they was rude to my mum and racist towards her and manhandled her, really was disgusting treatment from the staff.
Waiting time to see the doctor is RIDICULOUS!!
I’m waiting 8HOURS so far and I am sure it will need to wait another few hours more!!!! …
I went to a&e in for a scan because of severe abdominal pain, waited hours, the doctors don’t even talk to each other. Nearly got overdosed for this reason. Didn’t get my scan after hours of being poked and prodded and received meds I had …
If I could give no stars – I would. Daughter admitted to Children’s A&E, recent diagnosis of pneumonia and clasped right lung. Left my daughter for over 5 hours without even speaking to anyone and kept being told we would be next to speak …
Today 12 May 2022 I have had the pleasure of visiting your Radiology Department. All the staff are exceptional throughout but a special mention and thank you goes to the staff who personally dealt with me. Their care, professionalism and …
Disgusting hospital honestly the staff are rude the waiting time is outragous left my elderly dad on the corridors who was needing an emergency blood transfusion for 8 hours appalling
I found everyone without exception hard working ,polite and professional from the top to the bottom. The meals were warm ,on time and of very good quality. Far better than my expectations .very satisfied with the whole experience. Thankyou to everyone
Avoid avoid avoid.
Rude staff, 3 times doctors calling for patients who are already with a doctor …
Spent 3 days in induction with Cholestasis watching several mums to be coming and going into labour while becoming more and more anxious about why the waiting was going on. Staff shortages, too much demand etc. it’s been like this for 5 years apparently. On the verge of just walking out now.

If there was anything less than one star here I would give it.

Brilliant and clean place there’s a coffee shop and a cafe selling Brilliant food
My friend took his sister to this hospital and was misgendered multiple times plus referred to as his own mother plus when his sister finaly got seen they refused an x-ray even though her foot was black and could potentially have a break
Hurt my foot and heard it pop..had rude nurse talk down to me and patronising, telling me that having an xray was like having radio therapy..my replie to her was iv have had radio therapy! She made out that I was waisting her time but not …

Had my fibroadenoma removal surgery today and I was absolutely impressed by the empathy of the staff as I was extremely anxious and nervous . I was put at ease and nowhere near as painful as I thought it could be . Staff looked after me very well . ☺️
I came into Pinderfields A&E for the first time this week unfortunately due to being attacked by a dog. I was seen pretty much straight away and admitted to a ward for stitches and to see a plastic surgeon about my arm. The staff were all amazing, I was so nervous and they made me feel at ease. Thank you for everything you do.
Something needs to be done about the waiting area. It is ridiculously small even at times when it’s not that busy but in busy times it’s over flowing. Also, there is no air movement inside which makes things 10 times worse as you can …
A&E service was slow and obviously short of staff. I was taken to a department and had my blood taken in a corridor from a very young nerse which did not wear gloves. When I asked her about her PPE she stated her hands are too small and PPE …
Attended A&E late last night with elderly father who had badly burnt his hand. Cannot praise Pinderfields enough from start to finish. Didn’t get the name of the nurse who did the initial treatment in A&E but would really like to thank …

As I have reported my experience at pinderfields hospital from A&E. this is another concern I would like to raise:
The staff cannot control certain circumstances I understand covid is still a …
To all staff on gate 25 floor C. Many thanks for your professionalism and kindness during my recent visit as a 2 week fast track patient. Had a 2 hour wait but that’s not the fault of staff that is the fault of this government!
Visit the neighbouring hospitals for better time saving
. 12 hours wastage of time uncomfortably sitting on chair
Visit pontefract or Dewsbury hospital instead
Absolutely a joke this hospital is sat 6 hours in A & E then 4 + hours on a corridor sat on a chair waiting for a bed
Thank you for making it more of a smooth transition to gate 21 .
I had previously been in touch … questioning the rationale why immune compromised patients … were sent via a& e . …

Cluster C ward were amazing with my 9 year old. The ward manager should be so proud of the team, the nursing staff were so caring, play leaders also really helpful and clearly love their job and the doctors were also very kind. We are lucky to have the NHS x
My Partner Paul Yelland is in this hospital on ward 33. The Staff have been amazing they do above and beyond caring for the patients. We are extremely thankful for the care and support Paul has received.
