Write a ReviewMade a quick trip here and I was impressed by its size. Loved the many art works found along their corridors. The stunning view from the 5th floor is unforgettable. I love the fact I could park very close to the main entrance in car park 8.
I received excellent care through out my stay in ward 207. Many grateful thanks to Mr Mark Gaden who performed my operation and to Mr Cheshire the anaesthetist. I felt like I was being well looked after which made me relax and more …
Really excellent treatment throughout, from the 111 call, via ambulance to A&E, Medical Assessment Unit, CT scan, Surgical Assessment Unit, overnight stay, emergency keyhole surgery, post-operative care and same day discharge minus my …
Referred to A&E by local walk-in centre. Hospital was very clean, staff were friendly and courteous. Saw a GP then a specialist ENT doctor, both of them very thorough and willing to listen. Yes there is a degree of waiting involved but that’s life at the minute. I was pretty impressed 👍 …
Communication between wards and with patients family is terrible. It’s unfortunate that we do not live in Derby and therefore unable to visit as much as we would like. This has been explained a number of times, to each person that we talk …
Hospital overall is fine. Only one problem is A&E waiting times… I been 4 times and each time I was waiting over 8 hours, starving and tired. I was about to give up and go home, better to feel bad in my own bed instead of waiting room with moaning people around. They need employed more staff for A&E
I was having problems with my site and for some time, I had noticed that my balance was also being affected. But my sight would be badly affected each time, I was the. To have a serious fall, and was taken into the the hospital, and while …
The wait in the emergency room for children under 18 is absolute balderdash. Never have I ever had such a time-consuming period in this hospital. Normally it’s in a click’s time! But for this particular day, it seems that the exception …
Great hospital, busy as usual, and parking was an issue. If you need to park at the hospital, I recommend you go earlier than your appointment, find a parking space, then have a drink in one of the coffee shops.
Fantastic support from the ophthalmology department when I was there as an emergency patient… in, seen by two consultants and tear in my retina lasered in just over an hour and a half.. Amazing!
I can’t thank them enough!
Biggest pain is the parking. Shouldn’t be a 30 min queue for every car park, especially not mid morning. One way system doesn’t help at all. Quite the opposite, makes people go all the way around when a carpark is full. Really poor design. Hospital itself is missing key signposts to help people navigate.
I will never forget how this hospital and the Nhs has dealt with my cancer and refused to take responsibility for their treatment of me. Pals and the doctors will say they want to help but persist to cause patients suffering. I relied on …
It was not a great experience at the stroke unit, trying to get my father of the unit, they are trying to do what they can to get the bed space it’s only been three weeks in the unit, can’t stand up on their own, it’s hard for them. Few of …
Kept saying it’d be an hour and half for blood results but waited 5 hours and even then had to ask nurse myself waste of time . My pre assessment they put in Canula and said not to eat or drink but 5 hours passed and had to ask nurse if I …
they can’t help my daughter, I have abdominal pain for a long time and she keeps coming back. They told me that I have to wait for the appointment. It’s a disaster. They should be ashamed of such a service. I normally despaired. The …
The hospital is clean and modern, with clear signposting. The car parks get absolutely rammed full, and there are always queues to access them, so come at least 30 minutes before any appointment you may have.
Just want to say how amazing staff were in Blue urgent centre A/E . Thanks to Ellie. Also staff in emergency day case unit . Thank you for all your care.
Cant put in to words but will try! From the midwives to doctors/sisters/nurses the closest word to describe them is hero’s. So proud of our NHS and the dedication, professionalism and love they’ve shown treating and delivering our baby boy.
Went to A&E. Was seen by the the nurses straight away due to a suspect heart issue.
One of the nurse could not get the cannula in and did not know the difference …
Had to visit A&E on a Saturday night been here 7 hrs and still no sign of anything being done. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. …
I’m from Nottingham and I had a very long operation at the D Royal. From all my consultantion to the after care the service and the staff including the ladies that brought the meal.gave a first class service and very caring . Qmc need to take note.
If I could give minus stars I would . My mum has been sat in a wheelchair for 18 hours with pneumonia!! Her medicine drip is being hung via a curtain bay window!!!!!! No sleep and detiorating. Today is a day I am not proud of our NHS
Excellent care at this hospital. Had to attend Endoscopy Department and Aileen Mulligan, the nurse who looked after me, was lovely and kind and put me at my ease. Very impressed with hospital overall
Went here with the mother in law seeing consultant not a problem, issue I had was obtaining her prescription, wait in a queue to just get to the counter for 30 mins then another 40 mins to get her tablets I’m sure there must be a better way.
having a medical mystery in regards to one of my knees locking up. been passed to a few departments who have been great and recently been referred to rheumatology. I’ve been trying to contact rheumatology to see what the timeframe is as low …
All I can say is very dedicated staff and for ward 305 who looked after me this week u are the best of humanity the best of the human race thank you all all the best wishes for your careers thankyou again
Terribly organized!! Doctor is so slow, 2 patients in 4hrs in the A&E area!!!! Better stay at home and wait for an ambulance as no one will help you when you will need it anyway!!!
Superb surgery curtisey of Mr. Tou and his team especially Sarah King. unfortunately let down by oncology who almost poisoned me and pathetic pride pharmacy if I need any future care it will be at Chesterfield royal!
I work here & it’s a good hospital. The team and i recruit the lovely Trust volunteers who will meet you at the main entrance, drive you to your clinic on the yellow buggy or be there to assist in our many departments or on our wards. They’re all amazing and yes I love my job.
Had a minor operation at the day hands case. A nurse took me to where I needed to be from the main entrance after I got in the wrong lift. All the staff I met were great, polite and made me feel relaxed and welcomed. A big thank you to all, your doing a great job
Absolutely awful service! Nurses are just sat talking not caring for any patients, the doctor is so slow he managed to see 2 people in the space of 4 hours. I was told I was next to then be told by a different nurse that there’s still one …
I needed to go to Day Surgery for a minor operation. Ms Wilkinson and her team, who looked after me on Monday were all fantastic. I wish to thank them all for the great care and attention they gave me. You all do a brilliant job, keep up the good work.

Horrendous 21hr experience at Derby Royal a&e 28th March at 7.20pm…mental health issues but still had to lie in a corridor for hours…when finally seen at 4pm on the 29th…hardly assessed…now 3 times worse than when visited…haven’t got out of bed since…what a time to be living in!!!!
I went to the emergency department because of a cyst that I had in my leg that was infected and needed a small surgery. I spend all day since 8 am to 7 pm , 11hours to be seen by a doctor . They put me in a bed I don’t know for what when I …

Arrived for 9am for my partner to have a chest scan. We were booked in very quickly and had the scan very soon after. Unfortunately there seemed to he a lack of staff to see to us after that. We had to wait a further 3hrs for the results …
Im good for you hard work Hospital paitent wards lots people busy adult children older people really well.
Very happy with the staff. They are all caring & helpful whilst my dad was in ICU & when he was moved to a ward. The nurses & care assistants went above & beyond for him. Also the wards all gave changing facility’s for babies which is very handy.
My appointment was on time and attended to in a very professional and friendly way. You can’t fault UK Nurses doing a fantastic job in extremely difficult circumstances
Ward 207 Saturday 17th December. Staff lovely professional and caring. Porters were very helpful and caring. Theater and Consultant team very professional and caring
Thank you all.
Went to visit our daughter expecting a baby, arrived at correct visiting times, told by ward reception no visitors, asked why , but told nothing, my daughter had to come into the corridor to see us, can’t figure this out, ward 314.

Got a new shoulder joint, been discharged, A big shout to the whole team at Royal Derby Hospital especially the Anaesthetist Mr Reddy a real bloke with compassion, I’m overwhelmed with my outcome THANK YOU RDH
The consultant was polite and professional.
Lovely hospital does exactly what it says on the “tin”. The specialist doctors and nurses are brilliant, caring and hard working. The only downside for me is that I have to travel all the way from Ilkeston which is a real drag. Why o why did they close the DRI in the middle of Derby
Extremely Extremely slow service my mum was diagnosed with cauda equina syndrome and was told by my GP if symptoms worsen to take her A&E as the condition is high risk and was told she will not wait and will be taken in. 7 hours of waiting …

Cannot fault the NHS, received first class care , deserve there pay rise,I see there under a lot of pressure from what I saw.👍 …
This is literally the worse service ever. I’m currently in SAU waiting to be checked, all the surgeons are having chats and laughing while i am sitting here for 7hours. Not even one of them has came to me to ask how I feel,l. I went up to ask how long it would take, they just said they had no clue… Literally disappointed.
my wife was told to come to A&E as soon as possible after we called 111 we have been here now since 3.45pm, its now 12.26 am and we have still not been seen. There is only one doctor here and some other people have been here since 1pm. …

Worst experience of healthcare I’ve ever received. Used to be a fantastic hospital, but now I have very little faith. Not so much a staff issue, but how the place is run and operated and organised. It worries me more knowing half my family …
Parking and Pharmacy are a disgrace for a Hospital that size.

At urgent A&E. I’ve been here 6 hours and 10 people still before me. Guy next to me been waiting 11 hours to be seen. Totally unacceptable, 1 nurse on duty and very relaxed. No urgency to clear the 11 of us waiting. What a joke.! …
Arrived at 930 at night to to go as my blood test result had a low reading. Says I could have a heart attack if the reading gets any lower
Didn’t see a doctor till after 6am when I questioned if there were any doctors …
Waiting weeks on end for MRI results, they then decided to post the results via snail mail to the doctors which will apparently take another week to reach them. Seems the NHS is still in the dark ages and not heard of secure emailing. Just another sure sign that the NHS is broken.
My parents were treated diabolical today its about time people respected the elderly . …
Nine hours all in all of my life I’ll never get back. But I know how hard they’re all working 🙏💜🙏. I just get annoyed when you see porters sat waiting for at least 10mins and more for a patient they’ve come to collect. And instead of being …
