Write a ReviewI am a Solent University graduate and this is my honest comment. If you really want a route to a successful career after graduation DO NOT PICK this uni. This university has no connection with the industry whatsoever although they bang on how they know the industry and prepare you to get a job.
Lectures and seminars cancelled seemingly at random without any notice to the students who are paying thousands to be there. Lecturers will happily lie and make offensive statements to you . Made an official complaint but it was never acted …
I’ll be starting here as a Deck Cadet later this month, and although I’ve only visited the main campus a handful of times, I’m been thoroughly impressed and blown away each time about how smart the whole building is. The one area that I was …
4 gobby female students from Solent University just tried to push me off my bike on a road crossing outside the uni when I sounded my hooter as they walked into my path. They were of course engrossed in their phones. One day, with luck, …
They have sent the debt collectors for me for over £6,000 of “tuition fees” for tuition I never received. Absolute disgrace.
I graduated here in 2008 (BEng Mechanical Design) and I had a good overall experience. Some courses were quite basic in my opinion but I had feedbacks from other students that didn’t agree, comparing with their previous experiences in other …
I did a masters there and it was okay but it could improve on providing channels for students to meet employers. When I left uni I struggled to find a job in my field so I just chose a different field just so I can start bringing money in. …
When I graduated from the old Southampton Institute (now called Solent University) in the Spring of 1994 and asked (in a phone call) a law lecturer who had interviewed me for the LL.B (Hons) course (law) for a reference, she paused for a …
The number of times I went there only to find out the lectures/seminars had been cancelled was unbelievable. The university couldn’t be bothered to contact students beforehand so this led to wasted time, effort and train tickets, poor …
A down to earth and friendly place, all my lecturers where amazing people and more than happy to help. I did both an undergraduate and masters in computing there and will most likely do my PhD there too.
I studied Post Production (Video editing)… or at least I think I did. I can’t recall learning much at all there. No techniques, no workflow lessons… nothing. Just “here’s some stock footage, bye”. …
Their family science day is great
Absolutely appalling. 0 female representation in media courses, 0 help with physical or mental illnesses or disabilities. Ruined my self esteem, you’re not allowed to be independent in any respect and if you’re not someone who fits into …
My experience here was alright. Staff are all really nice and helpful, accommodation is also pretty well looked after (mainly Deanery.) I did the Indie Game dev course which was the main reason why I chose this uni as this course isn’t …
Fantastic University part of the vibrant heart of Southampton city with amazing state of the art lecture, seminar, workshop and study spaces, great library, high spec sports hall, innovative engineering, film, TV, psychology, computing, …
Those who willing to attend Warshas college courses, this will be a good news. They have shifted almost all courses to city campus. It is very convenient. You can find Accomadation very easily in city. Even you can apply for college …
If you are coming from bib International College (Germany) then I would recommend NOT to do it. With a top-up year you have 60 ECTs and in Germany they want you to have 180 or over to study masters. …
Good venue. But the food shop closed to early.
Superb campus, with so many facilities directly available. I’m very impressed. The Spark building worth a visit!
One of the best equipped library I have ever been to. Very good collection of books. I was very impressed with the architecture and facilities available in this library.
Every student’s delight.

I needed to update my cv.I was surprised the job centre recommended solent uni and i didn’t realise they ran a service like this. The young lady did a wonderful job.I work mainly for agencies through online job sites and have a lot of job …
The heart of Southampton is Solent University. Always improving, always doing the best at teaching and getting their students to work in the industries. If you’re interested to have really good education, book an open day, you won’t regret it!
1) throughout my 3 years here studying Fashion Management with Marketing, myself and cohort was told that when we needed support that third years get priority. Third year came and we was brushed under the carpet. The course leader, Isra …
Good for foreigners students
Very disappointed! And I won’t let anyone choose this university!as an international student I have faced and been into a very bad situation!
Very good university the best on Southampton
Exceeded expectations, definitely on a level with the top sports universities regarding facilities and courses.
Studied Computing… Do not go here. I haven’t learnt anything at all compared to what other friends studying the same course did.
Wasted time and money for this ✖️
This is a great place to work and study. If you want career focused higher education then this is the place, the applied university of Southampton and the region.
My first day at Uni as a mature student. Havent got a comment on the Uni yet, but the coffee was good and I had a lovely day
Guys.. Do not put application in dis university.. It is worse.. They only took interviews 3-4 times nd I cleared all the interviews but in the end After a wait of 3 months they stop my admission process.. They just play with someone’s emotions 😔it is business of university. …

Southampton is a beautiful city, and the Solent University too. The best experience ever! Hope to return there..
Great place to be. New improvements look great, and the university is getting better all the time.
I hope students get a better experience than I got working there.
