Write a ReviewI went here for a C T scan on a 4.30pm appointment. There was parking available for all people. Entrance was for all people. Lift used for lower ground floor, little waiting for lift, no other people waiting. On lower ground floor followed …
Took my granddaughter here today because she had a terrible pain in her lower right leg and because of the medication she is on we feared it could have been a blood clot. All the staff were fantastic from reception to doctors who run tests …
My review is for Julie in the dermatology department. This lady listened to me when it felt like no one else would and went above and beyond for me to get me what I needed. A true professional who cares for others and is amazing at her job. Thank you Julie. Sophie.. X
My husband and myself attended the Walk in Centre at Tameside Hospital today and the treatment we received was excellent. We were treated professionally, respectfully and very efficiently from start to finish and the place was absolutely …
Unusable travel to a different hospital maybe in a 3rd world country terrible waiting times for A&E this should not be acceptable. In fact it’s disgraceful that they are getting away with treating people(cattle) like they are or at least …
Shocking. nurses rude no ideas on waiting time was told in a stroppy voice the waiting time is 6 hours 8.5 hours later still not been seen. They let my my mother with dementia wait in a corridor in the draft. The place is the pits from top to bottom.
My experience after a fall and fracturing my kneecap has been first class. Specifically, the Urgent treatment centre, fracture clinic, and x-ray departments have been friendly, professional, and timely.
Worst hospital in Manchester.
Don’t have a clue how to manage staff and time table. Provide a appointment time but see you after 3hrs. Absolute joke. They think we don’t have anything to do. The world revolves around them!!!
I attended the walk in centre as I couldn’t get an appointment with my own doctor, I must admit I was apprehensive as I heard the waiting time to be seen was at least 3 hours.. How wrong I was!! I was seen within 5 to 10 minutes and …
If you want to contact a love one in a ward forget it, tried for 4 hours no one could be arsed picking up the phone, once again disgraceful. And you want a pay rise u have some nerv
9.10 appointment and I waited and waited for hours. Dreadful service! Maybe more billions of pounds and extra pay will fix the problems. A nice lady has called me apologising so I’m giving 3 stars instead of 1.
Just coming up to 15 hours waiting to be seen – told the waiting time was 6 hours, then after 6 hours it increased almost every hour …
Shocking! Was told 3.5 hour wait for my daughter who was in pain, faint, raging temperature, throwing up and stomach pain. (Query appendicitis/sepsis) 5 hours later still sat on the floor and receptionist too rude to check how much longer but waiting times shot up to 7.5 hours. Worst place to be in pain.
Had an appointment at the Fracture Clinic this morning at 10:10. I got here on time, and waited 15 minutes, then was sent to have an x-ray. It’s 11:00, and I am still waiting. Why not send people x-rays when they get there? That would work …
Don’t even know where to start. The A&E department itself is disgusting, they’ve got windows open and people stood outside smoking when they’ve got a clear sign up that smoking on hospital grounds is not permitted. The waiting times are …
I feel for the staff… Since the late 90s when the NHS was privatised the management system has completely ruined the hospital, remember this is not our NHS it is now a private company, that is funded through our National Insurance …
Absolutely rediclious hospital went in for 9 months pregnant being told I’m high risk etc every 3 weeks then was told I wasent in labour and need to go to theatre for a section yet 2 hours later baby was born then the second baby was born …
To all new born children, work hard and go private or option b hope you never have to use this useless building ever in your life.
On one day each month we check to see how many of our patients suffered certain types of harm whilst in our care. We call this the Safety Thermometer. The Safety Thermometer looks at four harms: pressure ulcers, falls, blood clots and urine …

I rate this tameside hospital in Glossop a 2 out of 5 because we could not go and visit our family member whilst he was sick as there was only two members allowed but we had children aged 7 to 9 so we could just leave them out there and two …
I have been ringing day in and day out appointment booking and held on line saying there busy then they cut you off
I work nights too and to have to sit everyday trying to ring these is a joke no wounder it’s the worst hospital and nobody wants to go there
Disabled parking is a problem during the day. A few places are available if you are lucky.
Always happy with Tameside and again today seen quickly two tests done thankfully all clear friendly staff and as always a a nice experience for our family thanks
I ended up in a&e with a blood pressure emergency a few weeks ago. I was quickly triaged and sent to a separate building, where I was treated with great kindness and consideration. I was given a very thorough battery of tests and wasn’t …
Such a poor service every time I attend. Several times my little boy has been in and I have never received a good service. When we were in for a few days, they moved us rooms several times, no one told us what’s was going on, we were kept …
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish! Brought my 4 yrold son in for tonsillectomy. We went for pre op where the staff there were super, really welcoming. Suzanne was fab, made my son feel really relaxed and giggle. They went through …
Reviewed many times and always been good but yesterday I was shocked. Felt like a military operation! Not one staff who I felt actually cared and just wanted you in and out. Finally got a room, I was in for sickness and the group of nurses …
Friendly and very helpful staff Nice new buildings cafes and restaurants here as well It’s not a nice place you want to go but It is an excellent hospital if you need one
NO PARKING & extortionately priced shop!It was not even visiting hours. I went into every car park and no spaces. 20 minutes, infact 23 mins and eventually I found one. For a large hospital that is apparently adding more departments is …
Went to my ent appointment at 10 o’clock was told there was an hour delay so making that half 11 I should be seen still waiting to be seen and I am diabetic didn’t take food because I thought I would be ok no offer off food or drink and can’t go shop as on my own
Pretty poor
Wait time just kept rising
Triaged but I left before seeing the doctor due to the increasing wait time. …
Tameside has the worst NHS service wether this be your local GP or hospital. They take your national insurance, council taxes and other taxes but can’t provide any treatment or service. Absolutely disgusting. They don’t want to be abused …
Pleased with my service. Got sent to a&e after I felt confused and faint after having a blood test in a neighbouring department. The blood dept ladies were very considerate and they took me to a&e. It took a while the get seen, but the a&e staff were very helpful and thorough when they did get to see me. I’m very grateful.
my mum had a fall and cut her leg open, got her to a&e and was sorted and stitched within a couple of hours ! booked follow up appointments and took care of her very very well 🙂 thank you for the care you gave my mum today !
This place is a joke ! My Don keeps getting abcesses and they keep on doing surgery on him but never do anything to find out what causing.
Poor.
Attended A&E, queue times grow with no communication. Barely any facilities in …
I was taken into A & E after having a stroke. Ambulance took 4 hours to arrive. left on a stretcher in corridor for 10 hours, but they found the time to do 3 covid tests on me! rude and uncaring staff! Still waiting for MRI scan 3 months later after 5 requests. Heart monitor fitted incorrectly. stay away!
Shocking service, absolutely appalling! Don’t care for patients! Mother sat in A&E with my EXTREMELY poorly nan, nan was taken to A&E less than a week ago, doctors told Nan she had kidney issues and yet there was no treatment issued, rushed …
The are open avery day from 9 AM tille 10 PM
Very friendly staff and good shop
The A & E department at this hospital is negligent and not fit for purpose. The staff are Ineffective, inept, disinterested and obnoxious. Triage Trunchbull is incompetent and has no business holding that position. She’s going to cost someone their life if she hasn’t already.
I was advised by my GP surgery to attend A and E for an x-ray. When I arrived, the board said the wait time was 4.5hours, I was seen by triage within 30 minutes and immediately sent to the walk in centre, seen by a clinical practitioner …
I had to take my daughter to A&E with quite a nasty injury. The staff was lovely and very helpful. They do their job fantastically considering the pressure they are under… …
To summarise:
-waiting time 9-10hours (November 2021 and June 2022 so it isn’t a new problem). …
Anti natal clinic I’ve continuously waited really long times my longest being 3 and half hours. Here currently and so far 30 mins late on my appointment not great
Was sent this morning by my GP, assessed and treated within 2 hours by friendly and efficient staff.
Scarily bad. I’ve been ill for over two months and referred for urgent mri scan over a month ago which I’ve still not had. Seem to expect people to put up with poor treatment, stay off work and loose money especially in the current climate.
At what point did A&E become “patient only”, arrived worried and scared for my partner losing majority vision in both eyes rapidly, to be told they wont help. Beyond this, the lady delivering this news was rude, uncaring, and had NO useful …
Utterly useless hospital. You can go to A&E desperately unwell, wait 8 hours to be seen and just sent home without any treatment. …
I visited the hospital yesterday (Wednesday 19th Feb’) for a chest x-ray. I was surprised how relatively quiet it was in the waiting room/area. I was told that I would have to wait about half an hour. I hadn’t been sat down 10 minutes, then …
The staff in childrens outpatients were wonderful, particularly the nurses and the ginger plait receptionist who offered us water and checked on us during the heatwave.
Never want anything to do with this hospital as long as I live.
Worst hospital I’ve ever been and dealt with.
Never heard anything nice being said about this place. …
Where do I start! What a disgrace! The triage ward on maternity has probably been the worse experience I have ever encountered. It seems women are left as long as possible in triage before they are sent down to the labour ward to the point …
Thank you to Dr Uddin who cared for my daughter today after she suffered an allergic reaction which needed treated.
He listened and reassured her as she was very frightened. Superb service. Thank you so much.
Grateful Mum
Verybad staff in there . More then 10 hours wating time . People in pain i see all night .. NHS must need to action for that .. i dont know Y dr taking to long time .. …
Prescribed wrong dose of medicine by paedetric nurse. Daughter was still unwell with fever 4 days later when my GP queried what I was given her. Turns out it was half the dose she should have had!
I had the worst news and had to have surgery and stay over night, the staff did everything and always checked on me and worried about me. I honestly felt like I was being luck after friends and family, thank you for all of your help and support I really needed it and all of you did amazing.
I visited A&E last sunday evening, the receptionist was ringing the minor injury unit as she was booking me in, so within 15 minutes I had had an xray and pain relief, before being taken to cubicles. Unfortunately then I waited along time, …
Waited 4 hours and went out for a quick breather came back and they said i missed my turn shud be another 1.5 hour wait gp was called. Waited another 1.5 to be told by receptionist its another 2 hour wait!. I was taken right off the list.
I have lower back pain from over 4 weeks . Decide to visit walking center in Tameside hospital. After 3h waiting received pain killers only. Doctor did not even have a look my back at all and was not even bother to touch me to check what is wrong. Waste of time and no help offered at all. Very Poor service
Main parking was packed on Friday, 9am. Not sure about Multi storage one.
PARKING ticket machine only accept coins!!!. I would suggest to fix this please. It was very inconvenient to go to Costa cafe just to take out cash and pay at …
Having tried 2 days to get an emergency appointment at the Drs for my son who was covered in a rash but without success, I was advised to take him to the Walk In Centre. I’m always reluctant to do this as I know how much pressure they are …
25/08/21 I came in with my sister the staff were lovely, Dawn our midwife took the time to really get to know us and was kind and understand. I’m very thankful for the staff who made a very long night much easier – well worth it in the end though 😊😊 …
Shambles of a place..
I am having investigations for a separate issue.. i was told I’m having surgery, …
Me and nearly all my family were born here and been many times for medical assistance, always been great. I asked the staff if it was haunted and they refused to comment which to me is a definite yes.
I only ever usually read/ hear negative things said about Tameside hospital but anytime I have dealt with them, as a patient or visiting, I have always been impressed. …

Literally the worst medical service I have ever received in my life. I regret coming here and giving birth here. It was the worst experience I have ever had. There were ok people that seem to care but most of the staff didn’t care about …
The majority of the staff I have dealt with are great.
Appalling end of life treatment. No help for my mother to eat or drink. Records mix up on her discharge which meant delay in pain management. Overall inhumane treatment
Earlier today I attended Tameside Hospital for an endoscopy, after four months of abdominal discomfort. I was greeted with a huge smile at the reception desk, and the nurses and doctors with whom I came into contact were all, without …
This Hospital doesn’t get enough good press! Its very easy to point out the flaws in something. Its human nature to focus on what people DONT do rather than what people do! …
On Thurs 24 Feb I was admitted to A&E with severe breathing problems,I was promptly treated by all the staff one doctor in particular his first name was victor

My father was in the Acute Cardiac Ward last week. The nursing care he received, the standard of medical care, the efficiency of the staff on the ward, the auxiliary staff and cleanliness was superb. Without them, my father wouldn’t be …
Have always had very good and attentive care here on the odd occasion I’ve required it. My only gripe would be that they once released me too early following a haemorrhoidectomy in order to empty a ward for the weekend – it was Friday …
