Write a ReviewCalled up and booked in my 2 year old who had fallen and hurt his arm. They kindly made space to see him. His arm was limp and he couldn’t use it. I arrived, waited around 45 mins. A very helpful man called Paul saw him and after some …
We had to access MIU this evening for treatment. The whole experience was amazing. Location was easy to find. Guidance in the main building was hospitably done. Appointment was pretty much on time. The staff were brilliant and our clinician in particular was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. High praise to the team here in Newbury.
The hospital is easy to find. Confusing no entry signs to car park. Pay on exit. The radiology department is not well ventilated. There is a physiotherapy reception opposite the radiology reception. Unprofessional and racial remarks could …
Please be aware that the minor injuries unit here is appointments only!
It doesn’t say this anywhere on their website so I went in (with a suspected broken knee). The lady behind the counter was rude and seemed to not want to give …
Went to see a doctor as recommended by 111. At a booked slot
Cannot believe it. Went there and not a doctor in the building at 18.00 per my appointment. …
Really impressed with the care I received this evening in the minor injuries unit. My GP wasn’t able to see me after I received a nasty cat bite so recommended the MIU. The lady I spoke to on the phone was lovely and booked me in after …
Minor injuries/urgent treatment centre, superb! Lovely phone manner when I called, welcoming and professional when arrived for appointment, caring and great service 😁👍 …
This hospital is an example of the NHS at its best!
I attended a gynaecology appointment today. Staff & consultant we’re all lovely & service was very efficient.
Having moved from West Middlesex hospital to West Berkshire, the difference is incredible. They are poles apart. I’ve had nothing but top, efficient service from West Berkshire. No waiting for hours on end, efficient systems, appointments …
On the request of my GP I went to the West Berks Community Hospital today for an X-Ray. No appointment needed and even though there was a busy waiting area I had my X-Ray within about 15 mins of arriving. That’s just so great and an example of just how good some parts of the NHS can be. Well done!
The nurses and staff at this hospital are just fantastic . My daughter broke her wrist and we were seen immediately and John the nurse was brilliant with her.. in and out after 2 lots of xrays and sorting her arm in under 2 hours.. Time aside they restored my faith in the NHS .. thankyou guys.❤
I took my daughter today as she had hurt her ankle. I had to double check that its an NHS hospital. After waiting over 20 mins on hold to the GP, I gave up and called the hospital. They booked us in within an hour. We drove over, found a …

Absolutely disgusting. Went in because of extreme back pain but was turned away as they said as it’s an immediate accident they won’t do anything. There was no one there and I was in so much pain I could barely stand up. So much for the NHS
10/10 for the x ray department. glance at my watch when i walked through the main entrance. From arriving to registering, having x ray and walking out of main door, 17 minutes.
As a devoted hater of all things hospital related recent visits to West Beks have been fantastic. Quick appointments, friendly staff, superb service, light airy building and plenty of parking at a reasonable price (£1 for 2 hours, so …
Well looked after. My outpatient appointment was on time, done really well and at all stages staff were helpful & friendly. Very Covid safe but not oppressive and great NHS support. …
My wife had eye surgery here. If only all hospitals could be like this…Friendly welcoming staff always making you feel at ease. …
Although it does not say on the Internet you need to make an appointment by dialing 111 before attending, I arrived, explained that I did not know they want you to make anappointment and an appointment was made for me on the spot. I waited …
Had two wisdom teeth extracted under general here. I’m a very anxious patient and I hate needles, but the staff were all so genuinely kind and friendly and informative. I thought I would have a panic attack, but thanks to their calm …
I would just like to express my gratitude to all the staff on Donnington ward who have looked after my mum with such care and kindness. I have visited the ward frequently over the past three weeks and have been amazed at how caring and …
Just got discharged today, anything I say will not fully compliment this Hospital, not one bad word or criticism at all.
My appointment for the Surgery was at 12.30pm, I was waiting in the main hall …
The care is vastly different to other NHS hospitals. 99.99% of the nurses and doctors are kind, caring, supportive, understanding, compassionate, and grasp fully what patient centred care means. They do all this for the families of patients …
Couldn’t get a blood test for nearly 3 weeks, booked one, now I have been called away for work so need to try and cancel/move the appointment but can’t speak to anyone as they all go home at 3.30. No method of sending an email or …
Cut my head at work, Monday and went there instead of RBH ,BLOODY AMAZING!!! friendly staff, great nurses and patched up in less than an hour!!! Thanks to all the staff there!
Surprisingly empty and easy to reach by car compared to the Royal Berks in Reading. …
An extremely well managed hospital facility that is so welcome in the area. The services offered are not just for local area but far away patients are also treated at this location. …
It was be 19 08 2021r , not 17.08.2021
I would like to file a complaint with the administration of the blood test. ON …
Staff is amazing and the facilities are very good. Everyone is glad to help and a smile is always shared. Nurses are caring and the reception staff across the different services are professional and polite. …
Have just been there for a biopsy, couldn’t have asked for better treatment, staff were friendly and helpful. Choose West Berks over Royal Berks due to a shorter wait and the ease and cost (a £1 for up to 2 hours beats RBH at about £2 per hour if you can find a space) of parking, as great little community hospital.
Every time you need to book something at this hospital it will take ages, days spending at the phone talking to robots, i am trying for 3 days to get an appointment they will push you to get disparate and pay to private doctors thousands. Thank you NHS and by the way i`v paid my taxes this months for nothing again.
Everything about West Berks Community Hospital is Good. This morning I had to attend a Hearing Aid Check. The Polish Lady who checkd both my ears was absolutely delightful. I had a blood test booked for Thursday 29th and as I was there …
I had a colonoscopy carried out today at this hospital and I can honestly say that the girls in the Endoscopy unit especially Wendy and Hannah took care of me from the moment I arrived . I was super nervous and so anxious that I had …
Have to mention Dr Sandu in Outpatients, who provided an excellent service. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and understanding, taking time to explain the problem and providing resolution and reassurance immediately. A true asset to West Berks care and hoping his valuable contribution is not overlooked.
I have just been discharged from the wonderful John Radcliffe hospital following emergency surgery on Christmas Day due to an abscess which caused my body to go septic. As a result of the surgery, I need a new packing dressing every day. …
My friend was in urgent need of medical practice and after ringing 3 times we couldn’t get through due to poor connection, a fourth call was hung up on after asking to be put through to the minor injuries unit and a final call wasn’t …
Wow, they now do Endoscopy here too. No need for Royal Berkshire Hospital, no more long trips.
I also saw the mobile cancer screening unit. …
Wish all hospitals were like this. Ease of parking. Friendly helpful staff, nothing is to much trouble. No stress while waiting for your appointment. A very well organised hospital. Lovely restaurant at very reasonable prices. No one likes to visit hospitals but this one is 100%.
Great staff – professional, thorough and courteous. My only concern is that the Minor Injury Unit seems set up to be difficult to access. Perhaps it was just me, but you park fairly far away, maneuver your patient in the front door, down a …
The hospital appears very good, but when the Consultant specifies another appointment in four weeks, the person on Reception decides six weeks which is non-negotiable, being on a “take it or leave it” basis. …
It was the first time visiting this hospital. What an amzing experience, from the receptionist to being signed out. Thankyou to the nursing staff, and doctor. Friendly and happy explaining everything and nothing was to much trouble.. Thankyou.
Staff are always cheerful, helpful and professional despite clearly being very busy. The online booking system for blood tests has totally eliminated waiting time. Decent food in the cafe. On the down side you have to pay for parking.
No car parking spaces might want to look at making your car park bigger. Had to drop my sister off who is 5 months pregnant she was going for her scan and wanted me to go with her cause her partner couldn’t make it and she suffers from …
Unfortunately a normally good hospital was tarnished by an appointment with an incredibly rude and unprofessional consultant oral surgeon Ms Gerber, 40 minutes late for her first appointment with no apology, saw her walk in ten minutes …
They accommodated me for an appointment, when I probably shouldn’t have been granted one. My only comment relates to the rather abrupt & condescending old woman on reception for the Minor Injuries Unit. A woman asked to see a doctor about a …
Took my 4 year old son with suspected Scarlet fever.
I am not one to visit doctors or hospitals very often, nor am I medically …
Hi to Physiotherapy Team Manager, I write to thank my physiotherapist SIAN JONES who saw me at Dellwood Physiotherapy Centre in Reading for the last 11 months. She has helped me regain use of my shoulder, arm and left hand. Her practice is …
We attended for an appointment in the evening at 9.15pm so we went to the “night” door and found three confusing notices about when that door was open; eventually discovered that the main door was still open anyway. …
I booked an emergency appointment via 111 after an incident and when I arrived there was hardly any wait and the care by the nurse who attended me was excellent, albeit a bit rough (Probably my fault for squirming around).
Phoned on the 10/07/2015 to book a blood test only to receive the answering service which ask me to leave my details for a reply,
17/07/2015 still no reply after making 3 more calls. …
This hospital is a joy to visit. The staff are super friendly, super courteous and efficient. There is no sense of being rushed here. All is really calm. Excellent food in the cafe/restaurant. Thank you.
Quick and efficient blood tests with a reservation system. Annoying that it costs £1 to park for less than 15 minutes in an empty car park, as I don’t have these blood tests by choice.
very efficient
very friendly on a Saturday night
From phoning 111 very pleasant lady
To excellent bedside manner from the doctor on duty.
We always knock the NHS but I wouldn’t of got better going private tonight.
Very good and clean all over .a new cancer wing now you can see a Dr up till 10/11 pm by ringing h.n.s (111).and boots the chemist open till late at the retail park Newbury .
All that is good about our NHS! Quick referral, minimal waiting time, fantastic staff, really great service.
Visted many times to minor injuries and outpatients units. Staff slways cheerful and friendly. Wait times are usually low.
Nice Community hospital. Staff are very friendly. Hospital is kept very clean. Spacious pay & park.
Efficient, friendly staff, easy access and convenient, cheap parking. Why aren’t all hospitals like this
Not advisable to go there at weekends if you might need an xray as xray department is closed. Better to go to A & E.
Excellent unit. Lovely staff. Easy to get to. No issues parking. No stress.
They have fantastic staff especially in physiotherapy dept.
what a joke shuts at 10pm have to ether go reading or basingstoke hospital whats the point in having a hospital in the area if you have to go up 45 minutes out of you way just to see someone after 10pm
A friendly community hospital, lots of car parking spaces. Prompt appointments.
