Every other financial organisation allows you to reset your passwords using email or mobile phone numbers via codes being sent. This is not for security reason, this is to make it difficult for clients to withdraw money.

If you change your address you have to wait 21 days before you can make any withdrawals from your account.
However, if you’d like to add funds this can be done instantly.
Surely proof of new address along with ID would be sufficient but not at HL.

I’ve been using HL for 5 years and I am very satisfied. The choice of funds is large and the trading process is easy. Over the years, their website has improved and lots of useful content has been added. The HL app is also robust. Overall, I highly recommend the company.

Having been a client of hargreaves lansdown for over 10 years I like the detailed fund information, easy to navigate website and helpful staff by telephone or e mail. Their fees may not be the cheapest but I think the platform is one of the best.
As a workplace the new CEO has led vast, positive changes in the previous four years for the staff (thankfully reversing the steady exodus under the impossibly well paid Ian Gorham). As a company they offer excellent customer services and superb investment resources – their website is second to none.
Not a very a good company to work for if you go to work for them on one of their help desks, it’s akin to working in a posh call center, and the salary was pretty low for such a profitable company. As far as using their investment services, I think they are quite good – I’ve not had a problem with them so far and I would recommend.
Online facility is fairly straightforward to use and the staff are always helpful if you get into difficulties.
Hargreaves are OK for beginners or one off investments, especially companies which are not as popular or on other exchanges away from. The big ones. Better customer service than the online brokers as you can actually talk to people on a phone lol

I had an Isa with them and it was all fine until i tried to transfer it to a new provider. It took weeks and weeks and I had no communication throughout and when I tried to call they took an age to answer. Overall it was not a good experience!
HL used to offer a transfer from a trust to a JISA. This was ‘temporarily’ suspended early on in the pandemic, and has not, as yet, been reinstated.
It will be interesting to see the outcome of the various legal cases that are challenging HL over the Woodford debacle.

Every time I rang up to sort my account up they made my feel silly for not knowing what I was doing. I also still can’t access my account as they never gave me a certain access code.
