Huddersfield Royal Infirmary reviews

I want to praise all of the staff on Ward 22 where I was a patient over Xmas and New Year. Auxiliary staff, nurses, and the ward manager as well as the doctors were extremely hard working and very caring. I couldn’t have had better care no matter how busy they were the whole time!

I live in Huddersfield and the ambulance service was absolutely amazing. I had phoned 111 about my symptoms and was told to phone for an ambulance immediately. One arrived within 10 minutes . The paramedics were wonderful. Thank you so much.

Hospital food terrible. Food provided from outside catering. Had fish and chips, it was awful. Fish looked like it had been cooked twice. Menu very poor selection. Had to go hungry sometimes. Floor not cleaned for three days in my room so had to tell them to clean it.

I was taken into emergency day care ward 3 on Tuesday this week and the service i received was excellent.paticularly from the nurse Lindsey who was excepional and went over and above what you would expect to make sure i was ok particularly in these difficult times.

I have had various diagnostics, scans and consultations over the last 2 years and have received only the best care bearing in mind the constraints due to the pandemic. Fortunately I have not needed any further treatment so I cannot comment on that.

Had a terrible time here with my mum while she was going through colon cancer. Most of the nurses and doctors had no compassion or tact when it came to treating someone going through such an ordeal. I can’t really put into words just how horrendous the staff are.

Vast majority of the staff you encounter are helpful and do a great job. But that doesn’t detract from the fact that this hospital is coming to the end of its useful life. It is aging terribly, coridoors are unwelcoming. And on the outside it’s a huge eyesore
