The best hospital experience I have had in the UK thus far. Endoscopy department staff is awesome. Caring, compassionate and there for you nurses. Doc explained me everything as a medical to medical professional. I hope I will be operated on there!
Went to A&E on Wednesday with my husband. The nurses and doctors here was amazing and seen fairly quickly.
I do feel sorry for the staff here, when I was waiting in A&E two separate …
Had to take my 11 year old daughter to A&E this morning. We were checked in quickly and smoothly. Seen by a triage nurse within 10 minutes and a doctor within an hour. Everyone we had contact with were professional, kind and calm. The …
Saved my life ,, Ambulance Service are my Heroes , apparently I crashed and stopped breathing in the Ambulance – their skill and determination kept me going and I cannot thank them enough. A short stay on intensive care where I was touch …
My god!… what on earth did I experience 😳.
My 17 Yr Daughter had to be taken to A&E with a very painful toe.
There were corridors with patients on gurneys. There were nurses walking around …
Shocking maternity care. From parking issues, long waits, incorrect/conflicting appointments to the m2 maternity ward issues. If you have another hospital you can chose to give birth I would strongly advise to do so. We have used Oldham …
Awful experience in the maternity and has left me with PTSD and on anti-depressants. I was induced in July by a student midwife without my consent. She only informed me she was a student after inducing me! I was left alone all night whilst …
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Bolton Hospital’s customer service over the phone. The first person I spoke to simply said “Hello Bolton” and transferred me without any explanation or greeting. The second person I spoke to …
The WORST maternity department ever!! Experienced trauma from this hospital due to the lack of respect and neglect please avoid this hospital they will treat you with no respect and do not care about meeting your needs. It is full of …
I had brilliant service yesterday when I had a colonoscopy. Very professional, attentive, warm and friendly and made to feel comfortable. The Endoscopist (Carmel) and her team were amazing, much appreciated.
If I could give this hospital no stars I would! I absolutely hate this hospital!!! I chose to have my son at Wigan for the better care if I drove I’d be going there for treatments. Twice already I have been arguing for doctors here to see …
I had brilliant service yesterday. Very professional, attentive, warm and friendly. The doctors and nurses were amazing. They are under acute pressure at the moment but that didn’t get in their way.
Came here in an ambulance then sent to sit in waiting area not seen by anyone for over 2 hours including triage, in absolute agony hot and cold sweats from the pain to be told to “chill out on my breathing” when asking for help by the AnE …
My appt in WHC was seamless wish I could say the same for the pharmacy , put in prescription told a 30 min wait , as I live quite a distance from the hospital had to wait over an hour , surely prescriptions should be able to collect from …
Just wanted to say that my husband’s experience of the Endoscopy department today was a positive experience. He found the nursing and reception staff were really lovely and helpful during his appointment.

We got there in the evening, after carrying out test by past 8pm we were asked to see a doctor. After staying up all night hoping to see a doctor, only for a Doctor to attend to us past 5a.m to tell us the test result and they didn’t have treatment… why didn’t they inform us that there was no doctor till the next day or no treatment???
WAITING TIMES ARE AT AN ALL TIME LOW!! 6 HOURS TO GET A ECG BACK FROM A DOCTOR LOOKING AT IT. PLUS A LADY BEHIND ME WAS WAITING OVER 5 HOURS FOR PAIN RELIEF FROM KIDNEY STONES. NHS IS COLAPSING AND GOD FORBID WE EVER GET INTO WAR AS IT WOULD FLOP ON THE FIRST DAY OF A BIG ATTACK WHEN IT CANT EVEN DO A JOB FAST WITH 20 PEOPLE WAITING
Visited Womens Health on a number of occasions over the last few weeks.
Staff from Consultants to nurses to admin staff treated me professionally, and with kindness.
The ward service are excellent by the discharge lounge is very poor service waited for more the 3 hours need more improvement
I had a very similar experience to another reviewer on here who was having heart palpitations and pains. My partner and I ended up waiting 8 hours in A&E over which time I was treated rudely by one of the nurses and ranted at by a GP (I …
pharmacy is absoutly awful! waiting over 2 hours for a prescription, rude staff and have no respect for anyone
I don’t like the visiting system at all – not just the on line part of it, but the whole visiting system. One 45 minute slot once per day for one visitor per patient is simply not enough. My mum needs more support than that – access and …
I had to attend minor emergencies recently as advised by out of hours care. The staff were amazing. I understand the pressures on healthcare being a heath care worker myself. Despite the obvious pressures I was triaged within 20 minutes of …
Staff are brilliant, waiting system needs a revamp. Someone with a broken leg could be sitting next to someone with a virus. Treatments aren’t the most effective but staff are getting by on what they have. Waiting time is a ball ache.
Visited with my 87 year old grand mother who had fallen over , staff was very attentive , we was treated with dignity and empathy throughout ,A&E was extremely busy and I was alllowed to stay with my cognitively impaired relative as her …
Staff are amazing here. I feel sorry for them because of how much abuse I saw them put up with. People kicking off when it’s clear that the hospital is overran with the amount of people who come in. …

I have been to the hospital twice in the last two weeks. Both times i found the staff very informative. They were very friendly and made me feel totally at ease .brilliant !!!
Sectioned me because I tried to discharge myself, They will take your freedom away from you, Do not enter beechward psychiatric ward because I went in normal as any other man and left wanting to end my life, Thanks nhs
Not only have I had a bad experience when I gave birth 6months ago but now the unprofessional doctors at this hospital is disgusting. …
Spent a month in Royal Bolton Hospital after my heart decided to give up on me. Amazing staff in A&E and nothing but angels in the Coronary Care Unit. Can’t thank them all enough.
Not a clue why this hospital has an average of 3.5*. Disgruntled complaining people maybe… yes the NHS is hard-pressed for finances/funding, but the people that work here are absolute saints, waiting times are not their fault and is a more …
If you’re travelling by car, add at least an hour on to your estimated travel time as it is taking at least half an hour-45 minutes to get parked and all the nearby streets are full as well.
Worst service ever long waiting up to 6 hours staff just chat and laugh to each other they don’t care about patients never seen a medical like this probably the worst ever they don’t even know what they are doing
Long waiting staff just chat to each other instead of treating people receptionist laughing with each other medical here is useless to be honest
Satisfied 😌 in 100%❤
My experience at Bolton hospital is excellent. My baby girl Emily was born 10 …
My husband was in a and e this weekend and the care he was given was excellent. Everyone was so calm ans caring. The nurse Caren was amazing. The doctor Blenings was so caring and lovely she made it go like clockwork. I can’t emphasise enough what good quality care we were given thanks.

Jesus judging by some of the reviews on here it’s difficult to see how CQC give it good caring well led my daughter was admitted to this hospital with extreme pressure on the spine swelling of the stomach and pain radiating to her head …
Awful experience only visited for 1hr E5 children’s ward receptionist and senior staff are very rude refusing to give details for matron and closed visiting early saying it suits them and its there decision

Maternity department is providing rubbish services. They dont know about any thing. Thhey provide all wrong information. Books wrong appointments. Cancel on end time without any explanation. Just horrible service. And at the end they say is our fault.
I was admitted for 5 days to Ward D1 via AAU.
The nurses, doctors, porters, helpers absolutely everyone was brilliant. They all really looked after me, even though they were short staffed. Well done to all and thank you for taking care of me.
Mum admitted for up to a month. The staff not only lost her medical records in a botched transition to a care home, they entered her name wrong on the system and wondered why she was quiet when they called her the wrong name. Not to …

3rd class. Try to avoid it especially if you are looking for child birth or children’s A&E. Very rude staff and very poor service especially in A&E. My 2 month old baby was bleeding after circumscion and I took him to A&E at 7am and there …
Midwives were absolutely amazing! They are all superwomen! Thank you to everyone who made our experience an amazing one. We appreciate you all xxx

Not just this hospital is horrible, but the NHS is literally going down. Health care in the UK is failing. Is ridiculous how understaffed it is and is ridiculous the level of care they provide. Shame on it. Why call yourself a nurse or …
Staff wonderful but appallingly long waits, of SEVEN hours to see a doctor. Patient who had taken overdose left alone for hours until he collapsed in waiting area! Toilets not working!
Awful place. Nurse didn’t care that a baby had a low blood pressure and oxygen level. She just said he will be fine. As a medical practionerr it’s important to check the baby
My son was admitted two weeks ago to R1. Nursing staff, apart from one horrible one, were excellent. His bedding hasn’t been changed since he’s been there, and where they changed his cannula, blood went in the sheets. Not what I would expect from a hospital at all
I am still traumatised by my experience in the maternity wing at Royal Bolton. I give 2 stars because the midwives were, for the most part, lovely. However, the care I received was shocking. I was advised an induction for a reason at 38 …
Unfortunately yet again Bolton Royal making waiting times absolutely unbearable. My partner suffers from gallstones and has been waiting for over a year to have them removed. Sent her home with jaundice even though she had said she wasn’t …

This is such an easy review to write, what a fantastic hospital this is!! I am from & live in Merseyside & my grandmother is from Bolton and still lives in Bolton! She was rushed into hospital over 2 weeks ago & I absolutely cannot fault …
The A@E have being given the impossible task of trying to please everyone. I was very happy with how I was dealt with . I knew when I arrived it would be a long wait .The doctor who dealt with me was very professional .
Very poor hospital. The childrens ward staff mainly the older ones are extremely rude, they need a refresh course or perhaps tips from their younger junior drs on how to treat patients, and the staff on F ward are the same – rude. I asked …
