Write a ReviewTooting Bev Lido what to say my son love to go here and enjoy the sun and some nice chips and drink. The swimming pool is busy so you must book early online to not get disappointed.
Really love the Lido. Little cafe to buy some chips. Very large pool. Little pool for kids. Not going to lie the water is freezing. I come here only when it’s boiling outside so then you ready to take a cold dip. Gone are the days when you …
Came here to take my child for baby gym. Premises are clean. Staffs were very friendly. We reached when there was already a session going on. They sanitised everything for the next session. Children were guided with safety precautions.
Kids loved it 👍🏻🏊♂️
Big pool/ small pool for babies
Lots of life guards 👍🏻👍🏻 …
This is my first year swimming in the Tooting Lido, after 9 years living in the area. It takes some time to get used to the water temperature, the benefits of swimming daily in colder temperatures is the main reason I go… Now that the …
With its 91.44mt length, Tooting Bec Lido is the biggest outdoor swimming pool in the UK. There are plenty of changing cubicles, plus showers and toilets. There is a coffee shop and picnic tables to enjoy a coffee on a sunny day. Entrance …
Great for winter swims with a sauna open to members in the coldest months. Hot summer days can lead to big queues so do get there as early as possible (6am) if you are planning on swimming. Excellent yoga classes also available in the pavilion for both members and non members.
Great day out with the kid! Please note that you can’t join your friends in the queue. There’s security checking it along the line and you will all have to move to the back of the line if you disagree with the rule. Only join the queue when the whole party is there. loved the fact that there’s a green area.
This South London oasis just gets better with every hot summer 🔥.
Get there early (the queues run to >2 hrs by midday) and mix it up with the locals. This is the melting pot that only the UK’s capital city can cook up; 9 …
I have lived in the Tooting area for my whole life and not once have I ever visited Tooting Bec Lido. Too be honest, I was amazed with the size of the lido. Definitely worth the visit if the weather is basking in warm weather. When we attended, believe the entrance fee was approx £7.
Nice tree area where you can sunbathe and enjoy. The pool was clean and even though it was packed it was comfortable to be there. Water was a bit too cold for my taste.
Freezing cold. It was insane how cold it was.
Grat pool tho. Once the shock has worn off I was swimming back and forth.
Typical lido facilties- so ok. …
Formidable, Edwardian, outdoor pool, not heated, just short of 100 meters ! Nice big lanes during the lane swim times. Shower blocks as well as individual change cubicles along the pool side. Lawn area is nice in sunny weather, and there …
I have to come every summer, it’s nice and wide.
Recommended for families
Lovely relaxed place to spend an afternoon. Cafe has a good combination of classic pool café options (Ice creams, hot dogs, hot chocolate) and more expensive treats like halloumi kebabs. Good sun trap.
Place needs a little bit of tlc (paint, refurbish, clean etc). They do have lifeguards there. Was not prepared to that cold water in the middle of may but who expected this spring to be that cold. Had to buy a wetsuit after signed up for …
Once I’d downloaded the Places Locker app it was easy to book my swim.
Loved swimming in this lido. The pool is nearly 100m in length and 30m wide so is double Olympic sized! …
Lovely lido. Booking opens a week in advance on placesleisure.org. You book your 45 min slot. When you arrive, check in at the window then queue up outside until the swimmers from the previous session have left, then head on in, change in a …
The most chilled destination in south London. Great for an invigorating early morning swim from late Spring through the summer.
It’s a really large outdoor swimming pool, which is well worth a visit on a hot Summer’s day. You can book online in advance, to avoid any disappointment, as there are a limited number of places available for each session. The water isn’t …
Beautiful and my favourite lido in the UK.
Great swimming community with the slsc. …
One of my favourite places in the whole world. Open to the public May to October, 100 yards by 33 yards making it one of the largest pools. Kids paddling pool as well. Some grassy areas near paddling pool and concrete sundeck plus new step …
Great outdoor pool. The staff is OK, and generally the facilities are decently maintained.
If you plan on going buy the ticket online ahead of the date since it sells out …
This place is great when the weather is nice and you would like to spend some time by the pool. The security has improved since I went there in July and after spending 3 hours in the queue was told that they shut the entrance. Now labels …
Great spot in London. Looking forward to returning! Would only say the out door changing rooms need a good make over. Full of spider webs and very dark, uncomfortable to get changed in after a gorgeous swim. Would be amazing if they added a few loungers too but overall 7/10 really happy day out
They have recently cleared all the green algae from the bottom of the deep end of the pool as well, so it now looks even better!
Very well organised. They come out and check your bags and name whilst you’re in …
Family friendly with 4 hourly slots for lane swimming and also for family fun.
The main changing room where the toilets are were a bit stinky and very, very …
Great place. It should be made clear that when busy you will have to queue to get back into the small pool. I had wet children who wanted to get back in after a drink break and we needed up waiting for 20 mins to get in as too many were in the pool. You also can’t leave anything poolside so no water bottles.
We really liked it. The pictures on Google don’t show it but there’s a cute little kids pool and around it there are trees and grass . The kids love playing in the water. The cafe staff are lovely and there are also changing facilities for the whole family. The adult pool is huge and looks real fun.
Nice pool, but queued for 1.5h plus to find one!!! person selling entry tickets. I don’t understand why they don’t hire more people on a hot day when long queues are to be expected
Been here before pandemics and loved it. They’ve reopened with bookings only. The app to book is terrible and took about an hour to manage it (constant server errors). If booking was smooth it would defo be a 5!
Very busy when it’s hot and sunny. Lovely pool for the young ones. The bigger pool is great for adults and competent swimmers. Available all year round
Horrible place.
The swimming pool is big, the staff is nice and the lifeguards are attentive.
However, the grass area is tiny and all in the shade in the afternoon. Then, is …
Lovely paddling pool surrounded by grass perfect for a picnic. Even better when kids are at school. Has a cafe can get very busy from lunchtime onwards..
Great place to swim or just cool down (think heat waves). Main pool is huge, 90x30m, depth from 0.9 to 2.1m. You’ll need for sure own towels (and a padlock if you want to use the lockers). There is shade, both on pavement and grass (under …
Im sort of amazed people have rated this lido so favourably. To be absolutely blunt, this lido is really dirty. Not just the pool, but the changing rooms are disgusting. At £8 a pop I’d think you could stretch the budget to clean the place
It’s such a beautiful! Swimming pool feel alike fresh of body become more cold 🥶 and cooling and lovely good weather also i need to make clearer underneath hopeful they will make cleaning it up as sooner and start to fresh …
Great day out for all family.
Was great to get a rest from the pool and go back after enjoying the sun for a …
I used to love heading down to the lido in the summer with friends but it’s not what it used to be! The vibe has been killed, for some reason they have a 1000 security guards walking around, check your bags about 3 times before entry it …
Nice pool. Cafe a bit over priced
Great pool. It opens at 6am so perfect for an early swim. Very nice and quite during lunch breaks. Highly recommended.
Huge pool 93m long 30 m wide. You swim and swim. A bit dated but like it. Queuing for 1h on Monday bh.
Awesome big pool. Water quite cold so go on a hot day and then it’s perfectly refreshing
Huge pool. Usually quite busy so suggest booking!
Great lido located between Tooting & Streatham. This fresh water pool is largest in UK & boasts size of 100 x 33 yards. It’s brightly coloured changing cubicles border both lengths of pool with additional outside seating areas, all well …
My family love the Lido. It’s always like taking a little holiday when we go in the summer.
I also run a Qi Gong class there every Wednesday morning, 11am and it’s such a …
Great lido. Biggest in the UK. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys swimming. Can get very busy on sunny summer weekends.
Amazing much better than brockwell lido by far sorry to say. It’s bigger, more child friendly, has trees and has a nice grass area. I recomend coming here if you can and the cafe is OK not too expensive.
If you’re happy swimming in what feels like an ice bath and paying £4 for an ice cream, this is the place for you. Nice spot for a hot summers day but probably not worth £8.
Great for kids, good amount of shade cover on the grassy area. Could benefit from more seating for less able people. Lifeguards were present. And pool was clean.
Great huge pool!! Water temp was 24 which was perfect. Cafe is great as well. So much character and history. We love this place
I’ve always loved the Lido. However I’m not pleased with the new changes regarding booking tickets online. It’s cost me £18.50 for one adult and two children. That’s very expensive for only four hours! During this busy time you have to book …
Great outdoor swimming spot. Try avoid peak times if you want a relaxed swim. Travel light as there aren’t lockable lockers (unless you bring your own padlocks) however don’t let that discourage you from visiting, will be going again for a morning swim!
Tooting Bec Lido is a fantastic place – unheated but always swimmable. Now only open for members of South London Swimming Club until next open to the public – see publicity for any closure for works being done and subsequent reopening.
One of the better lidos in London. Large pool with showers, cubicles and a small number of lockers. The water is cold but on a hot day it’s amazing. The poolside cafe is expensive but has a good selection of food & drinks. My biggest …
Its gone down hill since i visited 15 years ago. Very difficult to book a swim, you have to create an account and user name and all that faff. It is tired and run down and poorly maintained. The lockers are rusty and don’t work very …
It is a very very amazing place the bus stop is St Leonard’s Church just continue straight and swimming pool will be on your right you will see the big park and the big parking space. During the very hot days it gets really cloudy and water …
Great pool, just a bit pricey (7,5 for an adult)
Have never used the swimming pool as I’m not insane enough to swim in the Winter…in England… (but the budgie smuggling wearing men seem to enjoy it!??). We had my son’s toddler gymnastics class in the lido building which was lovely! An …
Largest pool in UK and you have to book. Always full of fun , not anymore. Shame on Wandsworth. Balham born and bred, was my life and my kids. Why ?
As I live only 10 minutes from there we used to go all day many summer days before the pandemic. However last week one of my friends who also used to go often told me about the booking system and breaks midday and midd afternoon and I can say that we will not be back… Thats not sensible…
Had an amazing swim at this Lido. The water was very clean, the lanes were appropriately spaced and there were also toilets on site. The only negatives were the cafe, from which I did a body swerve, and a bit of an ugly aesthetic. It was …
Took my 3 year old niece swimming and she loved and hated it lol (fell head first into the pool lol…she was ok) did the morning session, it was busy but a lot quieter then the afternoon session, will go again
Love this place. Lovely staff, covid-safe facilities, the unheated enormous pool is divided widthways into lanes during the winter and without lanes during the summer but as the pool is massive, a width feels like a small length anyway. …
Insane! They still have covid restrictions and force you to book a slot to have access. All the pandemic restrictions were lifted please someone tell them! Very dissatisfied. Also, how come someone will book due London forecast! Not well organized!
Tooting Bec Lido is great for families, couples and singles – aka EVERYONE! My partner and I went a couple of times during the 2019 summer heatwave and it was a great experience overall. The queues can be long, however, once you’re inside …
Went today on the hottest day of the year – absolutely lovely at 6.15am. The water was slightly warmer than usual as prev. hot days but still refreshing – this pool is best though when you get that layer of chill, but warmth from swimming …
Great for swimming outdoors quite tricky when booking a slot online when trying to find the page. The covid restrictions put on place really took the joy out of swimming here, going round in clockwise circles gets a little tiresome would like to see on a warmer day when the water is warmer.
Fantastic lido, water is unheated which is refreshing and the 90m size is fantastic, stops doing lengths from getting crowded which I love!
Very easy and quick to get access. Pool temperature was well maintained. On a sunny day, it will be worth spending whole day cause you can take break from the pool, have some snacks or coffee, read books sitting on the bench nearby and jump on the pool again. It’s fun.
Fantastic day out with the kiddos. A shame the Mr Whippy van charged £4.50 for a cone and £2 for a Calypo!!! Daylight robbery. Unnecessary to rip off a captive audience just because you can.
The pool was freezing even though it was 24°c outside. Despite this we had fun and did end up swimming! They have free drinking water, refillable from the bathroom and labelled. The cafe is also nice but a little bit pricey. The rates as a student were very fair (£4.40~)
Great experience swimming in the sunshine. Pool was quite busy at 8am on a Monday. Entry for just a swim is quite expensive (£7.50) when not using Lido for the full day. No lockers for bags is a bit of a concern whilst swimming. However I will be going back and would recommend to anyone else whilst it’s sunny!
Difficult to book,no concessions ,..over zelous unfriendly security search you bags, scum line dirty,..not enough pool attendants and not enough pool side space…cafe to expensive and poor quality the whole place needs bretter management and definatly look at the bookings and concessions status
Awesome pool, well staffed and not too busy (I visited weekday afternoon). Facilities great including cafe. Cards taken on entry and in cafe. 91.5m long by about 30m wide, plenty of space for a proper swim and the kids/families to have a splash. Great spot.
A wonderful huge pool with separate paddling pool for little ones. There is a cafe to keep you going all day. Not a lot of space for sunbathing and it does get busy in the sun, so get there early. Expect a queue. The water is not heated but it was 21 degrees at 8am when we went.
A fantastic experience. This outdoor pool is cooled down to complicate the workout. The swim lane is longer than usual. Those who not only go for sunbathing in the outdoor pool, but also to train should not miss this place under any circumstances. Of course, don’t forget swimming trunks!
91 m outdoor pool – biggest in London (I think).
Pool is great for training for endurance. it’s very popular in the summer on a …
Great place to spend a hot day in London. The pool is absolutely massive so even if there’s lots of people there it doesn’t get too overcrowded. The changing rooms are nice and tidy and people working there are cheerful and kind. The pool …
Love in the summer. The food at the kiosk is shockingly good.
