Write a ReviewThis river is amazing for kayaking. There are tough rapid sections as well as some easier sections. I would highly recommend this river for both newer kayaker as well as more experianced kayaker.
Love a walk along the dee in Chester City centre so lovely and peaceful plenty of places to sit and relax 😌 …
The River Dee in Chester is a recreational place of pleasure boat rides, walking , jog or just leisurely stroll aimlessly , crossing the bridges to get to either side of the river. Other then that , it’s a place to catch those beautiful moments whatever the time of day and in different seasons
Such a beautiful place to go for a walk. Stunning at sunrise and sunset. Popular with dog walkers
River Dee in Wales, Excellent Grayling fishing when conditions are right, would go as far to say that it could possibly be the best Grayling water in the country ! Either dry flies or nymphs take fish here (depending on weather), makes for a fantastic day or two, and with glorious scenery it never dissapoints.
A lovely place to take a walk along the river. Quite and Serene. Somewhere to sit and take in the amazing view. A must visit location in the Chester city.
I take my dog every Sunday for a walk down the River Dee outstanding doesn’t matter if is raining or sun’s out it’s calm and peaceful and lot of history around the area around the area
My husband and I walk down the river with our dogs quite regularly. It’s beautiful. We start on the Meadows in Chester and walk for 6 miles along the river to a pub called the Grosvenor in Aldford. The path is well trodden and easy to …
Always good to visit the Dee and walk alongside it on sunny days. Chester has a great atmosphere with plenty of walks , good food and places to drink.
This is a medium sized river that mainly flows in one direction only! Throwing sticks in here is a convenient method of removing fox poo from dogs.
It’s the ideal place to visit if you like rivers.
Had water in it and some ducks. Very cool.
Usually a nice spot to fish waiting for a salmon
Great place to walk or ride

No matter where you are on the river it is beautiful Bala or Llangollen and Chester lots of places.
A lovely river with a picturesque old fashioned promenade and a beautiful suspension bridge.
Relaxing environment, great views, easy access
Beautiful river, could watch it flow through Llangollen for hours…
Brilliant location for water! And if you get bored, look to your right and you’ll find water! And if you get really bored just walk for an hour…or 2 and you’ll find a pub for better tasting fermented water
Amazing walk with the dogs.

Saltney ferry bridge is ideal to watch beluga land at Hawarden airport
Lovely River to walk along with places you can safely go near the river for the dogs to have a drink!
Good location for leisure and social activities.
A great family day out, pubs and restaurants always full on busy days and boat hire is pricey, apart from that, a very mellow chilled out place.
Peaceful to sit and watch the ducks, unfortunately there were no boat trips but still had an enjoyable day
Stunning river wherever you go along it.
A beautifully set clean tidy and very popular attraction with plenty of events to keep you amused

Beautiful location in Chester, very idyllic and good spot for photography
I drove along the A55 and over a bridge across the river Dee. Thanks Google for putting this one on the map. It looked very muddy from my car and not somewhere I would consider paddling on a hot day with the kids. I’ve seen Turkish mudbaths in a better state than this. Looks toxic.
Mother nature created a wonderful place. Wherever you cross this stunning river you will not be disappointed. More than enough points of interest to keep you and the family occupied.
Lovely walks
Lovely walking 😀
How do you review a river? It’s got water in it and like all rivers it mostly flows from the thin end to the fat end, some bits are scenic and pleasant to sit by, others have factories either side, and, er…
Great place for walks or to frolick in the water
Our most sacred river in ancient times. It’s a lovely river to find a nice spot on its banks and relax.
There are several spots to do that from its source at lake Tagid (Bala). …
Lovely river. Wet and cold in most places. Particularly attractive to freshwater fish, ducks, frogs, toads, kingfishers and crayfish.
A fantastic stretch of water with good access. This is a tidal river, with high tides coming over the top of the weir. The weir is good for playing on in both kayak and canoes.
Perfect walk & cycle paths, quiet sway from traffic & noise, lovely easy route to Chester or Queensferry,, pretty good fishing too, perfect for dog walking,
Not sure why you’d review a river?
It’s wet. The Dee has salmon and trout and, probably, sea trout. Good for …
Visit for a walk. Take your dog. You can walk freely from Dee Cottages to the gunship Mostyn about 8miles and never come across any cars.
Beautiful river with a steam train that runs along some of it banks between Llanegollen and Corwen. White waters in places and lots of wild life if you look.
Favourite place to stop for a driver’s lunch, and listen to the lapping and babbling river to chill out for 1/2 hour
A great river to go fishing
