Write a ReviewI always like the experience here. The children’s hospital is so relaxing even for the adults who come here.
This place is so neat and the staff, nurses and co are nice.
I know they are short staffed and we had a long wait but my son was comfortable there on his recent stay after hitting his face having seizures. He loved the food there and toast whenever you want. Its clean, and the shops are ok to get bits.
We had to visit recently with our little girl and the service was incredible. We were quickly seen by the triage nurse and didn’t wait very long to then be seen by a doctor. The waiting room had a TV playing children’s films and was really …
After months waiting for an appointment I received a phone call from the hospital and advised to come to the hospital next day at 15:20 so my daughter can see a gynecologist, I left the work early, derived 50 minutes and waited in the …
I cannot believe what happened today. Wasted 5 hours in the A&E waiting room whilst my baby was bleeding. I brought it up multiple times to both reception and nurses but they just kept sayin “Normal waiting time is 5 hours”, to be told we …

I want to give RMCH A& E a huge thank you . Once again they have looked after my grandaughter Millie and she received the best care as always. I genuinely do not know what we would do without these hospital angels. Thank you to all the team last night. You are all amazing. ❤️
Just had Rebecca Sutton as an anesthetis for my 2 year old daughter. My daughter usually has a really traumatic experience before sending her off to sleep, which weighs extremely heavy on a parents mind, however Rebecca was really good with …
If I could I would give them 0 star. I lived in 6 Europe Countries and I’ve never seen a such poor service in any place I’ve ever lived. 6 or even 3 hours to see a child in a Emergency room is Unacceptable!! …
If you are planning on going there go separately as parents meaning mom go first then dad. Why because we’ve been waiting for over 6 hours! And bring a picnic with you. Coffee machine broke so only expensive crisps and soft drinks costing …
Children speciality Hospital. Excellent care with most modern equipments.
Excellent care by doctors and nurses.
A&E staff were amazing, In particular a doctor called David. But then we were sent to ward 84 where the nurses were lovely but the doctor was so rude.
They couldn’t work out why what was happening to our little girl was happening …
I had to bring my granddaughter and her baby son and there was such a helpful security man there, l had to thank him in public for the wonderful help he gave to us. Such a pleasant person, his name I think was Michael Emanuel. So helpful when we needed it.
i’m in constant pain in my lower right side of my abdomen and had an urgent referral from my local hospital to here and was told it was going to take 4 weeks. 2 weeks later Manchester call and tell me that i’ve been put on a 10 month …
Very poor organisation. Our child is 1 year old and has been fasting since 4.30am . Still not been seen.
Very poor not happy at all. Time is now 11am
Very happy with the care my 4 year old daughter has received.
We attended the outpatients department for our first ENT appointment which had previously been cancelled by the hospital. We were seen 45 minutes after our appointment time, which wouldn’t have been too bad but the waiting room was filthy. …
Absolutely disgraceful!!!!! My granddaughter fell and her tooth went through her mouth we took her Wednesday morning because it needed stitches they said they couldn’t do it that day and to come back Thursday we arrived to sit there until …
Worst hospital in the UK..been here for more than 5 hours still not seen hy the doctor others patients have been here for more than 9 hours. What a waste of place
I would like to thank and praise The Manchester Royal children’s hospital Team which work with Dr Naomi Davies. Their professionalism, teamwork, dedication and respect is unparalleled. My son had a tendon transfer and tenotomy recently and …
I would have rated this hospital a little more highly had me and my eight-year-old – who was suffering with chronic pain – not been told she was “taking up a valuable bed” by a doctor that ought to know better. …
We gone in at 7:30 and they made us wait 5 hours which is a joke if they actually did the right time I’d give it a 5
Given 3 stars as when my daughter was on ward 84, I had gone home for a few hours rest before returning to find a used commode with the lid open left nxt to her bed. They would have had to help her use it & couldn’t believe they had just …
1st September 2022
My son was transferred here after breaking his arm resulting in him needing …
It’s a great children hospital, there is abit of wait some times but seems to be like that everywhere now, Helped 2 of my children excellent nurse staff.
The hospital provides excellent care with their helpful, polite and caring staff. My child has been there several times both as inpatient and outpatient. She was always well cared for and I am really thankful to the doctor and nurses. The A&E, parking and facilities are also good.
Thank you to all the team on ward 84, you guys were the best during our short and stressful stay. Great level of care and support from every nurse that dealt with us
Today I have visited the children emergency department. The nurses and staff service is worreste.
I have waited almost 4hrs and after continue follow up only they informed to …
Our daughter recently had an op and was admitted to ward 76 for the day. The staff are great & friendly and put your child at ease. We dont live local, about three hours away but the long drive was worthwhile for the excellent care she …
My son had surgery here and they were really good with him and as he has additional needs, they went through everything with him and shown him around before the day and on the day. The nurses in recovery were brilliant and also in the ward. Can’t fault a single thing they were amazing. 😁 …

My son went onto ward 77 on a Tuesday after being sent home on Monday and we had to return as he was really poorly with the same symptoms. So far after spending 8 days there they still have no diagnosis, he has been subjucted to a feeding …
Phenomenal service. Nurse Afra really took care of my child with love and compassion. My son felt like he was at home. Great staff and great environment!!
First they admitted us (within 6 hour window), and made us wait on the ward, before refusing emergency diagnostic/treatment because we weren’t from Manchester. (IE they have to do more paperwork to get paid). After 5 hours of arguing about …
Staff are great. My son had an operation there he was only 1 they were great with him. We got to the ward fairly quick. And he was a day case. Only fault was when he came round they “apparently” rang reception for them to let me know but …
This hospital is amazing. My son has been coming here for a few months now and the progress he has made to his feet and walking has been outstanding. The service I have received from Mrs Parkinson has been second to none. Even if I took my …
My son was discharged from Ward 75 @ 12pm. Nurses told me won’t be long for medicines to be dispensed by chemist for him to take home . 7 hours later still waiting. What a disgrace, considering i had to wait 7 hours for a bed to be free …
What a phenomenal team of staff! We have been so looked after and can not thank the staff on Ward 76 enough!
Also, Miss Scheafer, Mr Bateman, Dr Child and Dr Tarr, were brilliant. Amazing …
A truely fantastic service this Hospital provides. We was here today for a scan on our young sons head and the treatment we received was second to none. Jackie, Yvonne and Pauline went above and beyond. Thank-you MRI xray department. The walters.
I haven’t yet managed to get through to children’s outpatients department. I’m sent messages telling me how much it costs if an appointment is missed and to contact the hospital to change/cancel an appointment but can never get through to do that.
I cannot praise this place enough. I had to travel to this very hospital all the way from Glasgow as my extremely ill 9 year old sister was transferred here from Blackpool and admitted to the critical care ward. Long story short, my sister …
My son had a bilateral squint corrected here yesterday, he’s got up this morning and his eyes are perfectly straight. I can’t fault anyone for anything here. From the moment we walked in right up until we were leaving they were amazing. Thank you. You’ve given my son the vision he deserves x
Got appointment after waiting two months for son`s tumor surgery. Got two reminders about upcoming appointment which is good. So took time off work, went to the hospital, checked in, waited 1.5 hours and got told our appointment is canceled …
Really terrible experience at this hospital. Transferred here with my son from Lancaster. The emergency department wasn’t so bad, but we were put on ward 78. …
Terrible location, 45min stuck in traffic just 6 minutes away from the hospital, receptionists seem nice and nurses in children’s department. My son was booked in for a CT scan and needed dye injecting into his bloodstream, after many …
4 hour wait to see any baby child or toddler. This is NOT a childrens hospital. Childrens hospitals aim to see kids within a 2 hour time slot. This is a conjoined hospital with the main hospital. What a absolute joke of a service. On top of it they sent a text to see what you would rate the hospital and it didnt allow a response!
My daughter was admitted electively for small surgical procedure on ward 76.
We received excellent care while she been in the hospital.
Hats off to surgical team , admin and ward staff for providing untiring service …
My partner’s son broke his arm very seriously last week, after four days we were referred to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. We attended a 9am appointment in the paediatric orthopaedic out-patients department, and left at 4:30pm, …
My son was admitted for 1 week. The care he received from the HDU ward and Ward 77 was absolutely fantastic, the nurse’s are lovely and everything he needed or asked for they provided. Thanks very much
The staff here are superheroes, handling a massive demand on their time and resources. The A&E department is a really visual environment with lots of alien artwork, so it doesn’t feel clinical at all. I can’t fault the place despite the long wait we experienced as it’s simply down to huge numbers of patients.
This is one of the worst hospitals in the world I broke my arm and it snapt in half and I went to a different hospital and they were all quick and they said I should only wait like 30m but I have been here for 6h and have still not be served
They just rescheduled my operation a day before. I know doctors are busy but I don’t think they realise that I’ve been preparing for this for a long time and making sure everything’s sorted with work and family and people have flown over …
We had to stay at the children’s A&E overnight and I just have no words to say how kind and helpful everyone was. Literally EVERYONE – receptionists, nurses, doctors, went out of their way to look after my little one. Big thanks to all the staff.
Really poor organisation. I register my young daughter who had breathing problems and needed to be seen quickly and we waited hours, each time I asked I was told that there was a long waiting time, however, after another hour, it became …
Today I have visited the children emergency department. The nurses and staff service is worst.
I have waited almost 4hrs and they just walking up and down cluelessly. Don’t ever visit there if you have alternatives
Dreadful experience 12 hours waiting in A&E to get my daughter admitted. Once in they were great. Totally disorganised and you can see where taxpayers money is totally wasted.
My little boy has just had to have emergency surgery here all the staff from the receptionist at a+e, surgeon, anetheatis have all been brilliant! Couldn’t fault a single thing! Absolutely brilliant job!!
My daughter is now there as a patient.. She had 38.5 fever an hour ago.. Now she has 39.5 and no paracetamol given!!!! Just because there is not a doctor to prescribe it!!! I dont care what is the procedure/ must be changed!! It’s a …
Considering the size of the 2 hospitals that this replaced the amount of bed spaces available is massively inadequate. The time it takes to get to the hospital due to it’s location is really bad. A site out of the city centre would have been more suitable.
Very long wait ended with leaving the hospital without seeing the doctor because it was nearly gp opening time.
Waste of time
Friendly staff but they got my daughter’s lab results wrong 3 times in a row. 1st time the bloods were ruined by “sitting on a windowsill”. The 2nd time they tested her for glucose response vs. Growth hormone (I.e. injecting her with the …
If you want amazing care in a modern facility in Manchester, this is the place to go. My wife and I went there recently and were very impressed with the staff and the place itself. There’s obviously quite of lot of bad stuff that goes on here, but it’s nice to know you’re in good hands.
Though the hospital treatment is very good the problem is when they take ages to take you to to the ward and number two discharge medication that can take hours I realise doctors are busy but I think patients and the family should be given …
Great Children’s Hospital.
All staff are very professional and child focused.
Parking available close by. …
The hospital goes above and beyond to support my son and myself. The staff are amazing… Thank you to all the doctors and nurses.
You’ll always get one that moans about outpatient waiting times etc but you have to remember these people go all out to care for your children without an ounce of thanks and on very little pay. .. why?… because they love what they do.
They are amazing!!!…..
Thanks to everyone who looked after my Son Rhys (Bed 15) on Ward 76 today, also the theatre staff and Mr Ali, you were all brilliant !!
Special mention to the nurse on the Ward (Green tunic) think it was Joanne – Thank you
The delays in out-patients are now ar “stupid” level.
Allow for a minimum of an hours wait, but expect to wait even longer.
Take food and drinks with you especially if your appointment time is around 11 …
Very slow work the Doctors we have 5 hours no turns and then I took my child and left the hospital …
Very good hospital staff very helpful
Amazing care from all the nurses, Dr’s & staff on the burns unit and BPAC.
Shocking experience my 11month old daughter was left for hours with no pain relief no one checked on her regardless of her continued crying, we eventually left at midnight and was not even apologised to, now I appreciate hospitals are busy …
Massive thanks to Alex on the reception. Really knows his stuff and goes above and beyond .a credit to the hospital and the NHS top man
Really poor organisation
Medicine finishes at 11 am
Just to change a chemo bag for my daughter it took 4 Hours …
I think personally they are a waste of time I waited in the waiting room for two hours just to go in for 5 mins they firstly started it of with getting the wrong notes and person on the computer and then all hey did was trim my stitches …
Irrsponsible not caring and no good manners no worries that doctor or nurses dose nt even care if they even die they just think they can do every thing bad staff they take a day to arrange little thing the recpertiry doctor ain’t no goood
I had an worst experience ever with a&e .. staff are so roude n even doctors are the worst… Went there at 8 pm came out at 12 pm n still couldn’t see the doctor. End up going to Salford hospital.. …
