I am on ward 17 and have been since Friday. The past 2 days have been cold on the ward and some bright spark turned the heating off when warm and hasn’t …
Experienced a recent visit to A and E @Scunthorpe. Advised to attend after phoning 111 number. The wait was short for treatment. Care from nurse and the Doctor first class. The unit is deserving of the forthcoming new Emergency department.
In my own personal experience, I cannot fault them. Excellent service. I stayed a number of days and was treated with the upmost respect and care. I have been to a number of hospitals over the years both in the south and north of the …
Arrived here around 2 weeks ago with my son crying out in agony. As soon as we got in, the nurses could see he was in distress and took him in immediately for a scan. Had to then wait for the Dr who was quick and gave him morphine instantly …
Had an appointment in out patients. The parking area for that side of the hospital is now smaller, as the ambulances park near outpatients. If looking for a Neurology nurse appointment, they are above the Neurology dept the in a Ugology dept on floor D, right at the end of the waiting room corridor. Good luck
Wonderful service at A&E was seen quickly, had ex ray , discovered I had a fractured foot and had a pot on all within 2 hours. Staff were all lovely too
Department names make no sense.
Letter tells you to attend a specific radiology which isn’t on their maps (which are few and far between) or any signage, one Department sends you to blue-sky …
Parking is horrendous and when trying to get an operator as the silly phone system couldn’t understand my speech it sent me on a wild goose chase. At least the staff are nice and pleasant but I did end up being late for an appointment even though I arrived half hour before.
What a wonderful place.
So clean, staff super friendly, received best NHS care ever. …
Thought it would be a quick follow up check up today. 3 hours later I left. I have to say it was quite a pleasant experience. Maybe actually enjoyable. Every person that I had dealings with in the Eye Dept on D Floor was happy and smiley. …
Was signposted to ward 2 yesterday, for further assessment. Well done to all the staff, porters, cleaners, and Tea Lady. I was there most of the day, and was offered tea and lunch, (free). Everyone was very professional, approachable, and …

Visited A&E today and was treated swiftly was seen and given pain medication and advise within the hour. Very pleased
This is a very bad hospital. You will be queuing outside to go to A & E and even when you are seated, you will be waiting hours to be seen.
If you are ever in a life threatening situation you will not be treated in time. …
Apart from the long wait for a bed, I received excellent treatment from everyone – the nurses in A&E who were working in cramped, incredibly hot conditions, Mr Golpe and his team, all the staff on Ward 29, the porters, staff in Blue Sky …
EXCELLENT HOSPITAL!
I don’t know why people don’t like it and gave so many bad reviews! …
The staff are overworked and underpaid, but the staff i have met, they are doing a fantastic job, so caring and treat their patients in a loving and compassionate manner.. My hat goes out to them all ❤️
I was prescribed the wrong type of antibiotics for a possible infection. I still don’t know if i have an infection as i left A&E after 3hours of waiting. I had to lay down on a dirty cold floor all of that time as my stomach was contracting …
I can not thank all the staff at Scunthorpe hospital enough for today! Absolutely amazing people. Really looked after me when I had to go because I came off my motor bike . I am truly grateful for your amazing service today thank you so so much ♥️
It’s ok there but very busy, the staff are great, quite hard to navigate once inside to your destination, but there are volunteers to help direct people.
I have to write a negative review on this hospital honestly my last admission started great in A and E the nurses and Doctors were great.
From going on to the assessment ward after spending 24 hrs in A and E who …
I rang A+E before getting dressed and travelling there at midnight as I’m up for work early in the morning to see if it was busy as I have something in my eye and no one answered the phone. For me then to go anyway as it is highly …

Thank you so much for all your help. A really good hospital, doctors and nurses
It’s like being on a merry-go-round, because of new UK entry rules I thought I’d be courteous and cancel my appointment’s as rules wouldn’t let me attend.
So I rang Goole cancel swab test, gave department and rang for 10 minutes, …
Pleasant experience in Ophthalmic Clinic this morning – in and out within 1 hour including having to have eye drops instilled meaning a wait of 20 minutes before the Consultant could examine my eyes. Much improved from my last visit when …
After taking an overdose due to extreme tensions over an operation, I was in and out of consciousness and if it wasn’t for the police, paramedics and nurses/ doctor’s I would of been dead. The hospital put me under close monitoring opposite …
Attended yesterday for lung function test. Was seen by Tracey, she explained everything that was going to happen before we did tests. Then explained each stage in detail before it was done. Didn’t feel rushed, was put at ease by Tracey. Very good 1st experience of attending Scunthorpe hospital.
I had an interview today in their microbiology department, while I am genuinely happy with them not offering me the job, I think certain people on the panel need to refresh their equality and diversity acts of law. …
Shocking. My partner who is 32 weeks pregnant got taken in early hours this morning. They told her at 5pm that she would be free to go soon just waiting for notes. It’s now 8pm and she’s still waiting. We have 3 kids at home who want to …
Urology, what an absolute disgrace to this hospital. Partner diagnosed with a mass on one kidney, told nothing will be done. Months later rushed in after numerous tests and scans to be told he had 5 kidney stones on his last scan yet no …
My dad has just spent the last 3 days on ward 25. The two lovely lad from the Philippines were professional and caring and joined our family and the rest of the guys on the ward in a laugh and joke. I send my love to your families as you will spending Christmas looking after patients instead on being with them. Thank so much

I was admitted to SGH 31/12/2019 from my dr’s via A&E after having 2 heart attacks Sept / Oct 2019 that I thought one was strained muscle and having an ECG some weeks later 31/12/2019. I was completely looked after from the very first …

Arrived at A&E with stomach pain a couple of weeks ago, ended up being kept overnight by the surgeon and had my appendix out the next morning, everyone on Ward 29 was very nice and caring. Can’t thank the surgeon team enough.
We would like to say a massive thank you to the staff and physiotherapy team on the Stroke ward at Scunthorpe General. They were brilliant with our mum, thank you. A big thank you to Barbara on the physio team. She is a star.
Had a stroke recently and would like to say thank you to all the people who treated me and looked after me,really proud of our health service. Again thank you all for my stay, everyone of you are fabulous ❤😘♥, love from David Oslear xxxxx …
I ended up in A&E following a fall and badly hurting my ankle. I can’t praise the staff enough. Everyone was pleasant. And from entering A&E, being assessed, attending X-ray and having treatment I was on my way home after an hour and a half. Thank you all. You’re amazing lovely people.
Over the last 3 years, I have unfortunately experienced several health issues, some life threatening. I am still here and able to write this review thanks to the incredible care I have received at SGH. Consultants,Doctors, Nurses and …
doctors don’t seem to care about patients they send you home even if your still in pain tell you your having a procedure done but doesn’t happen then palm you off to other hospitals never will I ever come back here! Been stuck on ward 28 …
Been visiting a relative in here for past 3 weeks. His care has been ok, but it is so difficult to track down a doctor !! I know they are busy – we did actually manage to speak to one the other day for an update. But were promised one today …
My mum was on ward 16, she was well looked after and enjoyed her stay there, thanks to all on this ward. I picked my mum (who is 85) up today but disappointingly had an issue with parking, I asked the ward where to park and they mentioned …
My father died in ward 23 today. I have never felt so in awe of so many wonderful kind people. Staff on ward 23 treated not only my father but the whole family. From cleaners to trainee nurses to the ward sister …. what wonderful human beings I will never forget what you did for my dad
by far the worst experience ever. The stroke unit has no accountability in maintaining appoitnent times, never run on time, so don’t be surprised by being put back an hour or so – ok if you’ve time to kill but if you are working then take …
My experiance is a difficult one I went for my dating scan and well being scan at scunthorpe hospital has I’m 13 weeks pregnant I had to go to the appointment by my self with my 2 toddler girls the lady behind the reception told me I …

Absolutely useless! The lack of communication amongst the staff is a huge problem and causes big delays and problems for the patients who need medical help. Shocking!
Signage is ridiculous. No instructions in letter. Went to wrong side of hospital. Then arrived at correct side. No information to show where to go. Had to go up a level to find lovely volunteers to show us where to go. My daughter was …
Not allowing people of younger ages to visit away from home as they are insecure little twa*s. Get a grip NHS. Especially you..
I attend À&E yesterday evening ..the department was busy .with plenty of dedicated staff .I there about 4 1/2 hours ,.. during that time I had a cadiogram, bloods taken chest x-ray.. all nursing staff & the doctor were kind, supportive .. thank you everybody ..brilliant NHS care from Scunthorpe General. ☺️
In a private room, only lighting is bright light or open toilet door and have light from toilet to light room. The night light is a broken fitting still with power, so an electrocution hazard.
Worked here as a lab tech in microbiology. Saw so many shoddy practices including a Senior Biomedical Scientist falsifing negative Giardia results as she couldn’t be bothered to wait for me to retrieve the samples from the cold store. …
Left in reception even though had a appointment. Couldn’t check us in?
Late for appointment now. …
I know that there are issues, but my husband’s treatment in Scunthorpe general hospital has always been good. Living half way between Lincoln and Scunthorpe, we always head for this hospital. If you are seriously ill, the bus swings into action
Thamkyou
Scunthorpe hospital.
Saw Consultant at Gastroenterology had
OGD, Colonoscopy, MRI and CT. …
I have been here on a few occasions and always been well looked after they are 100x better than princess Diana hospital if you want to see a bad hospital go there.
By far the worst hospital I have ever had the displeasure of visiting, staff have no compassion at all, my grandmother was admitted last Tuesday, we have been promised daily that a MRI scan would be carried out to determine a diagnosis …
A big thank k you to all the staff and doctors for looking after my wife at the weekend, we are great full for all your hard work. This is for all the staff on the stroke unit and ward Mr & Mrs Cook from Immingham.
have to say scunthorpe hospital on my visit to accident and emergency was not the experience i was looking for lack of honesty and they fail to do what i ask them to do. Its typical nhs think they know it all and their skills and expertise means they will only do what they want and wont do what the patient wants.
Failing at every hurdle!
One big disappointment after another. Have been let down constantly by this hospital regarding my treatment and still waiting, to the point where i’m …
Having spent seven days in CCU I can say the people who work there are first rate nurses docs kind caring nothing was too much trouble any body who complains should look around the world and see what others have got god bless NHS and its staff
Went to the blood path only one lady before me very Quiet the nurse was very friendly and they cleaned every think before the next Patient
Thankyou to staff in A&E and the Eye Clinic that dealt with me on the 30th and 31st of January. I found you all to be very kind and caring. Special thanks to the doctors.
We have used the hospital restaurant many many times and always been very complimentary especially since the refit. So today really disappointed that after my granddaughter ordered a tuna sandwich and eating it that I saw it had a USE by date of 24th Oct …so out of date tuna…. in a hospital …
Absolutely terrible they need new staff the whole lot. I would rather go to hospital in a different country than go here. People go in and don’t come out alive the doctors shouldn’t have licences to practice. If you read up about it you will see what I mean. they make too many mistakes
Hi been in this hospital twice now both times for copd and I have found all the staff very helpful happly and thoughtful. The food is good menu good. This is the NHS I suppose some ppl will complain but there is nothing wrong with it.
Wonderful care. Thank you
Terrible reception staff. My partner was suffering from a suspected cardiac arrestband they were highly rude, lethargic and disrespectful.
I would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who looked after on my recent visit. Especially the doctor’s and the nurses. I find they are a very professional and caring team. I Thank you.
Based on today the Dr who removed a splinter from my heel was calm professional and had a good sense of humour, taking time and patience to remove all of the pieces, couldn’t fault him.
Ward 17 staff looked after me this week with smiles, compassion and comfort. By far the best ward I have stayed on at this hospital.
Can you even call this a hospital. Dont care about anybody well being or needs. You have to chase them to get anything.. Cannot get hold of anyone to see results Don’t receive letters when supposed to.get moved around with no answers. This hospital need investigating.
